    nintendo need to make traditional temples in the new game, being the theme of where you are and the main items and objects you get from that area, just to bring puzzles and difficulty to the modern games, shrines are cool but they are just super mini puzzles

      agreed every zelda game has always had massive dungeons. All of them except botw and totk. Its like having soul games without boss fights. Main 3d mario without platforming. They just took away what made zelda and tossed it out. Skyward sword didnt even have a proper overwolrd but still had amazing dungeons. I hope they fix it.

      I do miss me some big linear puzzle boxes. Even if they don't bring back the dungeon items (I'd love if they did) having to unlock a dungeon, find keys and solve puzzles, would go a long way to making it feel more like traditional Zelda.
      Mini dungeons could even still be dotted around the map. I don't think any of that works against the open world angle the developers are trying to expand on.

    The best thing they can do is keep parts locked... open world with progression and double backing. That would fulfill everyone's needs it's really that simple.

    I don't think it really matters what new area Link explores as long as it is aesthetically different and varied. Who cares whether it's called Hyrule, Termina, Koholint Island, or whatever else. At the end of the day it's just a name. As long as the areas that are explored are interesting.

    I’m always very excited for any new Zelda. The main issue I’m not excited about facing is the wait until the next new installment. It really makes me wonder what will Nintendo do with Zelda in between TOTK and that new mainline title.

  • @CoachCarter94
    @CoachCarter94 Před 17 dny

    I’ve been playing Zelda for probably 15 or so years, but I have to say I’m very partial to the botw/totk type of Zelda. The linear games are great, but something I realized I love about the new games (especially playing through totk a second time currently), is the ability to find and upgrade your gear and weapons even before your enter the first temple. I love being able to go into the major story portions of the game feeling adequately prepared, while also using cool new items and upgrades earlier on in the game rather than in the latter half. With that said, I wouldn’t be opposed to a more “linear” Zelda if they were able to keep those ideas in tact as well as the open world. A couple of Zelda games I’ve started and stopped many times before finishing them because if I got stuck, there is no where else to go. I guess you could leave a dungeon, but then what else is there to do? 🤷🏽‍♂️ in the open world games you could at least leave and do one of a thousand other things. You could argue those games feel to open or “empty” (I don’t feel that way. Maybe a bit with botw). Ok fine. But the linear games sometimes felt too linear. So there definitely needs to be a balance, sure. But in my honest opinion, the balance should probably lean more towards the open world side. At the end of the day it’s all a matter of preference. Some people want to use a specific new cool item to get through all the puzzles in a temple. Alright. I honestly enjoyed finding an obstacle and figuring out which trick I need to pull out of my hat to get passed it in the new games 🤷🏽‍♂️. But like I said. Matter of preference.

  • @cjdflkj
    @cjdflkj Před 16 dny

    I think it should have a more in depth story, with around 20 main story quest at most that are at least 2 hours long per quest, and then more character focused quests would probably be nice too.

  • @GothicVioletVixen
    @GothicVioletVixen Před 17 dny +5

    Gotta go back to the linear storyline. Open worlds are fine, but most OG Zelda fans were disapointed. I'm glad we brought in new fans, but we gave up a LOT of the Zelda *feel.*
    Not to mtion how empty the newer Hyrule felt.

    • @knowledgeseeker4614
      @knowledgeseeker4614 Před 17 dny +1

      The Like a Dragon Series is a great example of an open world game with a linear storyline. I think a linear story is perfect while allowing you to be able to explore the world while also allowing for more or the world to open up as the story progresses. While the open world is relatively small, it has a lot of stuff in it, so it isn't wasted on empty space.

    I would love to see them do a version that takes into account all of the previous Zelda styles. One that happens at the end of each timeline. Where Gannon goes from timeline to timeline collecting the triforce and link has to chase him, at the end Gannon makes a wish to control all the timelines which merges them into the breath of the wild timeline. This way instead of time travel they can jump timelines and have a 2d section at the end of the dark timeline, have an open world version after Twilight princesses timeline and then a more traditional 3D version after wind waker's timeline.

    For the next open world Zelda game, I want a continuation of the Wild Era where Link, Zelda and the Sages (Sidon, Tulin, Riju and Yunobo) set out on an exploration of foreign lands outside of Hyrule by sea since Penn and Sidon’s wife Yona are foreigners.
    Let alone bringing back Kass since our favorite NPC is absent in TOTK. some players have a theory that he travelled to other lands to spread the ancient songs and the tale of “the hero and the princess”
    That’s something Nintendo and the Zelda team should take note one!

    The next Zelda game this needs A TON of BIG changes. ToTK was a reimagining of BoTW...it was repetitive even on it's own but especially so if you factor in it was a sequel to BoTW. I would not have bought ToTK until it went on sale [so probably never, :D ] if I had known some of the things about it. The last trailer they made got me to pre-order it because I thought it was going to have more structure this time around, but it didn't; not compared to Skyward Sword.
    90% of the game is still meaningless side quests and shrines which can have good moments...but a game for me needs to be more about just aimlessly exploring as the schtick has gotten real old now with "open world" games. What good is it to have a huge map when it's mostly empty? It's still empty even with reusing a huge portion of the map. lol, and allegedly developing it for 6 something years.
    Again the reason there is no DLC is because nobody would believe it was made AFTER the release of the game. Everyone would assume it was content cut from the game just to sell for more money because it feels unfinished/unpopulated.
    I played the game for about 200 hours anyways because I paid $70 for it, bleh, and there's good things about it, but there's a ton of just unbelievably design choices that are left in seemingly on purpose that destroy the game from being great. Unless it's drastically different, and hopefully a return to form, I won't even contemplate buying it.

    My 3 wishes for new Zelda:
    1. New World (not Hyrule)
    2. New gameplay style (Different enough from Botw and Totk that it could be categorised as a new style of game for the franchise)
    3. More meaningful side characters, side quests and items. Botw and Totk lacked heavily in this regard compared with past Zelda games, in my opinion.

    • @skilarbabcock
