  • In this video I show how to find fake gold and silver using the Sigma Metalytics Precious Metals Verifier. I recently purchased a Basic Sigma Metalytics Precious Metals Verifier which is able to test different gold and silver coins. I show how to set up and use a Sigma Verifier as well as give my opinions on it. If you are worried about buying fake gold then this machine will help to put your mind at ease. Fake gold coins have been a problem for many years. Unless you have a trained eye you will not be able to spot fake gold bars and these sigma metalytics machines will be invaluable to you. As I mention in the video even if this machine prevents you from buying 1 fake gold coin then it has already saved you money. The peace of mind from knowing that I did not buy fake silver coins or fake silver bars is awesome. The Sigma Metalytics Precious Metals Verifier is also able to test for platinum, palladium, rhodium, and copper. The normal fake gold test includes chemicals which can damage your gold, but this machine will not damage your gold coins or bars. The Sigma Metalytics Precious Metals Verifier can also test slabbed gold and silver coins. Fake gold vs Real Gold has always been a reason that people are hesitant to buy gold bars. I believe that any serious gold stacker or gold bullion investor should seriously consider purchasing a Precious Metals Verifier of some kind.

    The only thing worse than buying fake silver or gold is accidentally *selling* fake silver or gold. Good pickup.

    My sigma verifier was paid off when i detected a fake 1 oz gold coin when i tried to purchase late last year. That how valuable about having to own one tester like this... it protects u... can't imagine if u only get to realise that u have over 50-60 oz of fake gold bars after 10 years in your safe when u so decided to take it out and sell them to a bullion dealers.. and they replied: :Sir, Im sorry, these are fakes!" ..

    I have the pro version, never regretted it. One thing I like about yours is there is a 4 nines fine and 3 nines fine setting for silver. The Pro only has a 4 nines setting, so the 3 nines silver shows up in the yellow range instead of the green range. It would be nice if the pro version had a .999 setting so ASE’s would test in the green range. This wouldn’t bother me so much, but a copper round can also show in the yellow range of the “pure silver” setting.

    Hey there Silver Dragons, do you know if this machine can do the other rare earth valuable metals such as Ruthenium & Rhenium & Osmium & Rhodium ect? I do a lot of home refining & would like to verify my chemical purification methods on each slug i produce as it takes a lot of work to do each little one due to the high temperatures involved & chemicals used.
    ive had problems with bullion dealers trying to ripp me off in the UK by trying to tell me my samples are impure,
    (I have a PHD in inorganic chemistry, so i know what is pure & what is not when i produce it),
    i had one try to offer me just 300 pounds for a 2 & half ounce pure palladium ingot last month that was worth over 3 thousand pounds. Needles to say i told him where to get off. So i am contemplating getting one of these machines to take with on such trades.

    • @mu2freighter
      @mu2freighter Před 3 lety

      If you mean on larger bars, the really big bullion wand that penetrates several millimeters in on large bullion pieces will. The manual suggests you check several areas on a bar for embedded base metals, in fact. If you mean coins and rounds, the unit and/or wands will tell you with an indication outside the brackets, looking past any coatings or plating.
      BTW, if your sample is slabbed with anything ferrous, it won't indicate anything and will just kick back to the run/calibrate command...but if you check your sample with a magnet you'll already know this. Sigma reminds users that the verifier should NOT be the only factor in judging authenticity...look/feel, weight, and magnetism are _always_ part of the process.

    • @mu2freighter
      @mu2freighter Před 3 lety +1

      Took mine just a couple of days short of 9 weeks to ship (ordered on March 10, shipped Priority Mail on May 12). It might have helped that I phoned GoldBug Supply and spoke with the proprietor once it went over 8 weeks (no drama, just touching base to check) who told me they were truly backlogged and a bunch were going out in a couple of days...mine shipped a couple of days later.
      I've only had it a few days and I'm loving it. As the video shows there are some minor idiosyncrasies involved so I'll be learning these subtleties as I go, but I can reliably verify silver coins and rounds from generic silver ounces down to Mercury dimes and gold items from my big 1.2057 ozt. Mexican Centenario down to my favorite small fractionals, the 20 franc 90% gold series and tiny .1106 ozt. oddball purity .986 fine Austrian ducat.
      It's pricy, but I call this a definite winner. I hope you got the set with 3 wands that includes the really big bullion wand that penetrates several millimeters in on large bullion pieces exactly like the one you're looking at!

    Silver dragon's that was a costly buy and now dont you gotta add that in to your cost of your stack. And i'v been buying silver for so long i could tell just buy the look and feel of a round or coin if it's silver or not. I think you could do that to with out a sigma.
    But when you buy one i dont think your buying for your self your getting it ease other people fear's if your silver and gold is fake or not.

      @@briansmythe3219 -- were I an LCS owner and had one of the expensive machines, I'd offer to use it for customers for a very small fee (say, $0.05/sample, to help pay for the original machine) and I'd handle the machine and coins to test myself entirely but well within view and reach of the customer (so they'd know their coins are safe). Maybe I'd print some forms that could be filled out to keep track of the results and give to the customer as well. I'd be on the lookout for used (refurbished?) ones to sell. I hope the shop you visit is able to help you and that you are able to help them, too 😊

      @@briansmythe3219 -- using such a machine -- for free -- as a way to please regular customers and invite new ones into the store is a good idea. The cost of the machine can probably be written off taxes, too, and also may be covered in an advertising budget. As I don't plan ever to buy one (I don't stack that big or buy things I'm not reasonably certain of), no need to pass along that URL... though others may be interested. Maybe make a separate post under this video for that link when you find it, more people will see it 😊
