    This works absolutely great!! I just rinsed my chickpeas in cold water really well after first cook. Then I rinsed after second cook. The cold water stops the cooking then I package and freeze. Works so so sooo
    GOOD!

    Very informative and easy to follow instructions. I cook for a Pastor who ministers to the homeless and recently was given 20 pounds of dried chick peas to do something with. Now I know!

      Hi Donna, thank you for watching this video. You're doing a good thing and I hope you reap the fruits of your labor. You can also make a curry like this one if it'snot too complicated: czcams.com/video/ABRmuwLKieQ/video.html
      Adding pasta to it is also a great idea. This video may help you:

    Do dried chickpeas have skin type coating on them like chickpeas in tins do? That’s one thing I can’t stand. Is long process to prep before actually cooking them.

    • @Grubanny
      @Grubanny  Před 3 lety +4

      Yes they do. In my experience, they only come off if you over cook them. Cook them for about 90 mins and you should be golden. Don't forget to rinse them after boiling for about 10 mins.

      @@Grubanny ok thanks for the tips brother. Yes I always rinse most foods before and after boiling. Personally I think it makes food taste much fresher and you enjoy cleaner foods. God bless you my brother 🤘🏽

      @@GrubannyHi! First of all your videos are very packed with helpful information. In this comment you suggest rinsing the chickpeas after 10 min but as for my understanding I need to cook them for 90 at the end of the quick soak. Should I boil the beans for 10 min after the quick soak, discard the water and boil again for 90 min? Thank you

    • @Grubanny
      @Grubanny  Před 2 lety +4

      @Paolo Rasador thank you. No soaking involved whatsoever. Wash the chickpeas, bring to a boil for 10 mins, then reduce to a simmer for 20 more mins. Rinse thoroughly, then add some cold water and bring it to a rolling boil for another 10 mins. Reduce to simmer for an hour to an hour 30 mins or until soft.
      Breakdown:
      Boil 10 mins
      Simmer 20 mins
      Rinse thoroughly
      Boil another 10 mins
      Simmer 1 to 1½ hours or until soft

    Easier to just soak it overnight or parboil in some hot water
