Chickpea fries is a gluten free alternative to regular fries. It's quite healthy and since it's made from Chickpeas, it's also heavy and filling. Chickpea fries go really well with my chunky tomato and pepper sauce. They also go well with Vegan ranch sauce, but I prefer them with my gourmet sauce. Give my Chickpea Fries a try and let me know what you think in the comment section. I would really appreciate it if you like this Chickpea Fries video and also subscribe to my channel. Chickpea Fries Recipe:
Add 1 cup of water to a pot and bring it to a boil

Add 1-2 teaspoons of onion powder (You can also add it directly to the flour)
Add 2 cups of Chickpea Flour to the boiling water
Reduce your heat to medium low
Mix vigorously with a spatula or your preferred tool for about 5 mins.
Chop and add some fresh sage leaves (you can add thyme, basil, or any herbs of your choosing)
Use a hand blender to further mix in the herbs
You can also use a spatula, spoon, or fork
Pour the batter into a baking sheet lined with a greased parchment paper

cut it into wedges or strips
Fry on medium low for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown on all sides.

bake them in the oven for a few mins at 375°F

Also for a twist on this recipe:
Use rosemary and a little something to make it spicy, and then make your fries and then make a homemade marinara for dipping ❤️
Looks delicious 😋

Wow, I love your style! I tried panisse for the first time in France a few weeks ago; they are so yummy. I will try your method; beautiful and simple to follow - subbed :)
Thank you! 😊 I'm sure the version you had in France will taste way better 🤤 Fun fact: I've never tasted an original panisse. I hope you enjoy mine too 🤞🏿 Thanks a lot for subbing.
Looks good I will try these as I can't eat too many potatoes adds to stiff joints ❤

Just found your channel, this is amazing. Thank you 🙏🏽 Years ago I tried a recipe for Burmese tofu and it reminded me of that.
I'm glad you found my channel. Burmese tofu huh? That's interesting... I'll look it up.
@@Grubanny I bet you could do something delicious with your own take on it!
@@AverageZoeBlogs I can't use oil so I baked them until crispy and they were still very good... and much healthier!
I am doing this... THIS wkend thank you so much
You're welcome!
I made these, but swapped the sage for a little sweet basil and oregano Just not a fan of sage besides going for a sausage flavor or for dressing/ stuffing. They came out really nice. The texture was great. Never knew I could make fries from chickpeas.
Woooow Amazing Recipe a nice Recipe thanks for sharing such a nice Recipe 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍

This is essentially what I know as burmese style tofu, or 'quick tofu' and its delicious. I make it all the time.
That's great to hear. Thanks for the information.
Reminds me of a recipe I saw for chickpea tofu (have not tried it yet). Chef’s seasonings sound yummy. The sauce is a must try with or w/o the fries! While I LOve anything fried in a pan, I wonder if these could be oven roasted or air fried. 🤔
Omg delicioso se ve
Thank you Juana! 🙏🏿
Looool yesss come through with the bankutaa 😂👏🏾

Hi, your recipes are amazing, where did you get you egusi seeds from?, I still want to try that recipe
Hi, I've added some links to the description box. You can check them out to see if they meet your needs. FYI They are my affiliate links. I forgot to add them after uploading the video. Thanks for the compliments and for reminding me.
Yummmm😅
Can you please leave a link where to purchase your cooking utensils, bowls, everything LOL
It looks so delicious. But it's a little bit labor intensive to me. But I might try at least once.
What is this high power blender you’re using?? So amaze by its ability to take quinoa and chickpea to powder.
Yeah, it's so amazing! It's a first generation Nutribullet 💪🏿
New subbie
Beautiful 💜💚💚🔥
When making your chickpea batter what about using an immersion blender?
A...Maaaaaa....Ziiiiing!!!! Thank you
You're welcome Kheni!
Unfortunately I can’t cook! So It’s nice to see talented people! I can make salads! 😂
Wow that's it looks fabulous can you oil them and bake
Thank you. Yes you can oil and bake them in an oven.
@@Grubanny thank you for answering me so quickly

I'm glad to hear that! 😊
Please tell me where you got that wodden spoon from. Im looking for one so I can make some fufu
😅🤣😆 I know the feeling. Mine was imported from the Motherland (Africa). I added a link to the closest thing I could find in the description above. I'll update the link as I find better options.
@@Grubanny thank you
Thank you so much for this recipe, will definitely try as I’m a vegan
You're welcome Yogita! Since you're vegan and not Alkaline Vegan, you have room to play with a few other herbs and spices. Feel free to experiment. You'll be shocked at what you might unveil.
Can you use an air fryer?
Beat way to make this is to bake it in the oven.
Can these be baked instead of fried?
New sub, ❤ your channel. thanks👍
Thank you 🙏🏿😊
@@Grubanny 🙇♀️😊
🤤🤤🤤🤤🍴
I wonder if you could use the technique of boiling chickpea/gram flour in water to make a type of edible raw cookie dough. I've tried several different versions based around beans or legumes but they all use cooked or canned beans and they just don't work for me, they don't have that pliable, almost slightly chewy texture that raw dough had and they just end up a bit like a sweet hummus. Hmmm.
can these wedges be air fried?
Some days I ask myself if the alkaline diet people ever even looked at a ph scale
I don't think the non-alkaline vegan "people" do either 🤔 😕 😬
This looks like a good recipe, but I do wonder for those of us trying to watch our oil intake if we can just bake it instead or use an air fryer & still get good results?
I was thinking about baking them in the oven just to cut down on my time standing over the stove. But less oil is also a great idea!
he noted on the video that you could just skip oil and bake
Praise the LORD for creating bread!
Oga how far nah, I have a question. How would amend the recipe for us who are in the air fryer cult?
🙌🏿 Comrade! Lol @ air fryer cult. Nice one. Try 15 mins at 380°F. Meaning, flip it after 7 to 7.5 mins. It worked for someone else. Hope it comes out good for you too
Can you bake instead of frying?
yes, he notes it on the video
chickpea flower is very hard to find in european shops, unless in Indian shops
Don't worry. I already made a video that shows you how to make your Chickpea flour at home: czcams.com/video/bOMdt_XiSJU/video.html
Now you don't have to buy it anymore 😉
Chickpea flour is also used in Italian and French cooking to make socca or farinata
@@claudiaharris187 I didn't know that. What's it called ? I guess in asian shops they will sell it too, but I've never seen it in regular supermarkets
pretty sure dr sebi says not too cook the oil
:)
By minutes you mean 120 minutes, right?
Not sure what you mean
tell me what non vegan version u saw cuz this is the same as all the others
Air fryer.
...is a small countertop convection oven designed to simulate deep frying without submerging the food in oil. A fan circulates hot air at high speed, producing a crisp layer via browning reactions such as the Maillard reaction.
