- Started making regular Hot Process soap in 2013 the process was so long for me I stopped and stayed making Melt & Pour soaps. This year I found out about a faster way to make Hot Process and I fell in love with making soap from scratch again. So here is my first video of teaching Hot Process. I am still learning and as I do I will share what I learn with you. One thing I am working on is making it more fluid. I will definitely make a video on that. I would love to hear your struggles and what you would like to learn. In the meantime let's start soaping :). **This is my first Hot Process soap video. I realize there are still a lot to learn with editing but please bear with me the next ones will be better and error free, I hope lol.
Enjoy the video. Thanks for watching. Don't forget to subscribe!

Thanks so much for sharing! I can't wait to try this!
I just used up the last of the bottle of lye I bought to try cold process soap (4 batches! Smaller than what you do in other videos) but this is so intriguing. I don’t have a crock pot available to me but I’d love to try hot process, this looks like a great thing to experiment with!
Yes it is :)
Awesome!!!
Looks GREAT ! nice video. I enjoy HP also, more the CP. I love the cook, and volcano's are a fun part of it.
Ellen Black thank you. Yes I love hot press and the volcano is a little bit too much fun to watch lol. Thanks for watching my videos.
I've only seen this method once before and can't wait to try it. I threw my crockpot away and just went to Goodwill today and there were none. Shocker, anyway, can't wait to try this method. Thanks for sharing
honey562012 😂😂😂😂 good luck :)
I really enjoyed watching your video on TV (I and watch CZcams on my TV)... just a thought... for extra support, maybe a cookie sheet under your silicone mold for round soap (where did you get your mold?) might help when you're pounding it down... I, too, enjoy watching Tina Moenck's for hot process. The other person I watch is Valerie Mosher of Shalebrook Handcrafted Soaps... I've learned alot from both her and Tina.. Valerie has many tutorials where she includes recipes in the dropdown box that give you a FLUID hot process soap that you can actually do swirls with!!! From watching Vaoerie, I learned that adding Greek Yogurt to my hot process soap along with other milks (like coconut milk) helps make the soap more fluid.. she also adds the clay at the beginning, with the oils when cooks her soap... she also has a Christian soaping group on Facebook from which I've learned much. ❤, k
Oh wow love the info about the groups. Yes I've watched their videos and I am in Tina's facebook group. Tina is AMAZING. Would love the link to the other group I can join too. I have done soap with silk yogurt and another one with coconut milk too. All amazing. :)
I got the mold from Bulk Apothecary. Sorry I didn't mention that before.
I have one of those mat molds, you need to have an old cookie sheet under it so you can tamp the soap down better. I love the color of the soap. Beautiful!
Lora Knutson I stop making small batches I am at 20lbs now 😍 thx u though I appreciate it
Great job!!!
Tina Moenck yaaaaaaay thank you Tina I watch your videos, welp I guess you can tell since I mentioned your name lol. Thank you :).
Ellen sent your video to me :) Thanks so much for mentioning me. You did awesome!
You are welcome :). Tina I have a question I see that your annotations shows on your videos did you use a system outside of youtube? I'm still trying to research that :(.
Thank you Ellen :).
I have had to Google so many things about CZcams. I think the annotation is found under the video manager. I create my videos with iskysoft.
lol...oh ok awesome. I used them 3 years ago. I'll look into it again. Thank you.
Hi, thank you for this awesome video!! How much sugar do you add per lb of soap?
Beba90210 hi I use 2-3 cups for 20lbs
I would so live to try this, by the way is the temperature reading, is it in fahrenheit or celsius?
fahrenheit
I liked the video - very interesting. also I subscribed to your channel . I suggest if possible for you - to find better angle to the camera - closer to the soap with more light . I also have this problem in some of my videos they came out too dark
הילה סבונים טבעיים Hila All Natural Soaps thank you... I have newer videos that may address your concern.
dear I have the same problem you can see on my youtube channel . I love your videos and I will keep watching them . I just wanted to let you know the camera is too far
I’ve seen a video where they added yoghurt at the and to losen uppbthe batter to make it more manageable to mold...maybe that’s worth a try?
Cynthia Molenaar hi yes. I’ve tried that before :). Thx u for the suggestion
Just so I am clear, you took your dish out of the crock pot and didnt apply any other heat the whole way thru....yet the soap was rising and volcano-ing etc ? I am researching to start making sheep milk soap and the hot process has gotten my interest over the cold process method based on how soon the soap is ready.
Just curious where this recipe can be found? You mentioned it in the video. Thank you.
Debra Vorce good morning I don’t share my recipes... I mention a few of the ingredients but that’s it. Sorry
I have never tried the 10 minute method. I always cook my soap for 60-90 minutes. This looks easier
Loren Legalhair saves time :)
I do the same thing at the end with the little bit of soap left in the crock. I always have to test it. 😆
Janet McPhail lol
I have been using my crock pot to do hot process soap and liquid soap. And sundelly it cracked all over the surface, inside and outside. Has it happen to you?
Carol Miranda oh wow no not to me
Carol Miranda what brand is your Crockpot?
How hot would you have preferred you Lye water to be?
teri citrine I like it between 195 and 200
I'm very new to sapping, I need more instructions from beginning to end. Do you have a video like that?
Khadijah White sorry there is info in all mu videos you would have to kinda put them together and take notes. When I was learning I watched a ton of videos from a lot of people and came up with my method. Good luck :)
Not true about eo and shipping. Tje flash point is where the eo will vaporize and you will lose its scent, unless you add it at a.lower temp than flasjpoint.
I know that. :) I said I've heard that...
Test strips are not accurate for soap and are unnecessary anyway.
Janet McPhail I don’t use them but good to know. Thx u

Donata Skinfood Your tongue is far more sensitive than any test strip. 👍
