hi Shane! thank you for this video. I immediately bought this Tusk Puller after watching it. I used it yesterday to pull the crankshaft in, it works great. I found out that this Puller works great with Tusk Crankcase Splitter to spilt cases evenly as my case is not easy to spilt evenly despite using a soft hammer to hit the sides.

while I attach this puller, I use the Tusk Splitter on the other side.

Observation: For a small crank/engine like 80cc-125cc it may fit. I ordered for a KDX 200 & will only fit on the Stator side not the Clutch.

so im just wondering, does the tool push on the case half or on the inner race? in my opinion its should seat on the inner race of the bearing as you pull the crank into place so your not side loading the bearing during install. thanks in advance and thanks for sharing!

Depends on the bearing. I'm building an XT500 engine now and the body of the tool can rest directly on the inner race. It has pretty large crank bearings though. you could make it work on smaller bearings with some imagination.

How do you use the other side?? I keep trying but the hex bushing keeps on coming off and not making contact with the crank.

Hi. Crankshaft from 4-stroke motor would be easier to install and can be done with hot-and-freeze method right? One more thing I noticed that the crank bearing in 4-stroke motor usually stay in the case, not on the crankshaft like 2-stroke. Thanks for the video.

Here is a link to hot/freeze video. As far as easy goes, this tool is great when used properly!

Shane, have you ever used this tool to pull the crank on a 06 Yamaha 450 4X4 Wolverine? Reason I'm asking is this, the right side of the crank it is 22mm, the adaptors that came with my TUSK kit are 11mm and 8mm. any Ideas????
