I think the way they have the housing cast is nt the best and its causing high drive pressure for the boost. The entrance to the turbine housing is really restrictive.

You may have the only other t4 s300 turbonator in existence. Mine is serial number 3 don't know what yours is. Did you ever run the same turbo non vgt? I feel like I might have picked up some spoolup but overall fell like it is underperforming as my boost just goes flat and the drive pressure just keeps climbing with rpm and I am seeing much higher drive pressure than I would with just a plain .080hsg it certainly does not seem to be flowing like a .110 with my best settings which I found to be 4 turns out from closed I only get better than 1-1 from 1950rpm to 2300rpm and that is on my 5.9 My boost is maxing at 41psi and my drive goes up past 55 at3200rpm

I have had a similar experience. I run the actuator tightened all the way. It does perform good for me though regardless of what the gauge says.

@@michigan1234 I have had it off for awhile doing major surgery on the exhaust housing as it just bothers me how it looks inside. I will let you know if I helped it or hurt it when I get it back together. I never tried it with the actuator fully closed but judging by how the turbo spins on the bench with a blow gun I suspect open a few turns would spool a lot better. I have many things to try to get it doing more what I think it should be able to do. DPS sent me a spacer to limit the vane opening as they thought it might be opening too much so I will be trying that as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Any details on the install? How hard was it? What did you need to modify? Whos t4 kit do you have? Are you happy with the performance of it? What size of injectors are you running?
Wanting to put a turbonator housing on my irate 364.5 kit.
    Thanks

Install was easy, had to clock the actuator a little bit to get the proper orientation to the intake spider. The T4 kit is homemade but built to the same spec as kits that are on the market. Running stock 140/0 injectors with 65hp PHP tuning, I love it. Builds 10 psi @ 1500rpm and 27psi @ 2000rpm.

@@michigan1234 awesome to hear. I actually found your FTE write up right after I commented. 🤘🏻

what tuning and injectors are you runing?

Is this DPS's pneumatically controlled housing?

I also have the ZF6, stock injectors and never really let it get past 2200. I've been contemplating welding and porting the stock housing to drop the A/R but a VGT would be perfect... Just wish they made one for the stock vband housing

And did you have any mpg increase over nonVGT if it was the same tune?

It is controlled by exhaust back pressure. Not sure on mileage gains.
