can we just take a moment, and admire how decent their stadium looks
It's quite new, they finished it in 2013.
San Mames is one intimidating stadium to go to
Decent? It’s amazing
Great story to rebuild in my fifa career mode 😊
Been to it, the museum there too is awesome.
athetic bilbao when they discover you are 0.00001% basque:

you can be catalonian or chinese, if you were trained in a basque academy, you are eligible to play in Athletic Bilbao

fuck Bilbao
And kudos to their all-time leading goalscorer Telmo Zarra for still holding on to the record of most goals scored in Copa del Rey history despite the prime of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo existing simultaneously in La Liga.
I am from Bilbao, and I appreciate you spreading this. We receive lots of criticism for not winning. But now you know why it so much harder.
If they criticize just see real Sociedad for example.
@@justinsm ?
we won, finally we won. The famous Athletic, is back
Interesting fact: Real Soceidad also had this policy but the power of Bilbao took away all the top players from their region and they had to abolish it.
Yeah this system is full of holes.
Yeah, this kind of system only benefit who are more influential
Real sociedad don’t have the same policy if you look the team there foreigners players
are you mad?

Huge respect for this club.
A club built on love, and passion rather than greed .
Pride, Identity, Community, Family.
Total Respect to Athletic Bilbao
When I heard of Bilbao and thier policy many many years ago im still impressed of how this club is being run.
Who can forget aduriz ❤️
Proper club always loved athletic Bilbao
A club that truly serves her community. I love that.
Imagine signing players only in a specific area in spain and still becoming one of the most succesful clubs in spain.
Moment of respect for bilbao
I am basque and i’am fucking proud if this team ❤
Aupa athletic !!! Gora euskadi
this is a club who cares about its fans. i can only see this from a few german and spanish teams.
Greek teams laughing in a corner
Well, better they do: This Club is socio-owned.
The final boss of fifa youth academies
If only more clubs were like this woe
Guadalajara and Milan were like that at one point too.
Milan around 1930s-40s
Guadalajara till later 2010s.
Love the Guadalajara shout man ❤🇲🇽

Welcome
True but Guadalajara could get players from all of Mexico right? I could be wrong, whereas Athletic Club could only get players from a very small region in Europe

Good policy
🎉. Kudos to Bilbao for showing the football world that the transfer market and some owners are completely broken.

Wow.... seriously worthy of admiration....this is how clubs should operate to have players playing fpr badge for real
This system only benefit 1 major club in that region, others club that try to do that from that region most likely will stay unknown unless they changed their policy like real sociedad
@@fakhrianuar Sociedad began with that policy in the ´60s, trying to mimic Athletic´s. They dropped it in the ´80s by signing John Aldridge. At one point it was Athletic, in fact, who saved Sociedad from disappearing, due to debts & bad management.
It looks like, without Athletic existence, ethos and backing , teams like Alaves, Osasuna, Sociedad (and so many others) wouldn't have passed the ´90s due to those very same problems: Talk about benefits...
Okay, that's SUEPR impressive.
Me seeing this short having played a bilbao career in FM - the best football game
Amazing!
The EPL couldn’t even give you a English team between them kick off on Saturday….

Celtics??
Boston Celtics?
Sevilla has 7 Europa Leagues and everyone recognizes that so they're well rated, a real underrated would be Real Betis

Gora Vasco! Gora Bilbao!
Bilbao always have this policy to sign only Basque players. Sure they haven't competed for La Liga for years however they are one of three club in La Liga that never got relegated ever. Don't matter if the player is elite, if he ain't from the Basque region, he'll never play for Athletic Club de Bilbao.
Not always though. But for many generations.
Socio-owned and 3rd on silverwares. Amazing.
I just think less people mean more time for the kid that would of got pushed out if their was a bigger pool to pick from. So they really do development players
wow
Athlatic Bilbao is no easy pushovers.
Not everyone wins at their home.
They are the Germanic Spanish version of a British club in Spain.
I didn't know all this until now... Unbelievable... Policy.

They were the last one to "stain" the shirt. And even tho, the sponsor had. to be from someone/something related to Basqueland

AUPA ATHLETIC
Athletic Club, not Athletic Bilbao
Chivas in Mexico is the same way as they only sign players from Mexico
Well, Mexico is a country with a pop of 127 m and Athletic pool is around 3m, while playing arguably in the strongest League of the world...Not sure both can fairly be compared.
EPL fans saying they're better than any league is always a joke. Spanish team been the no.1 league since forever and this one of the smallest reason for them 😂
I would have loved to be a pro and play in Spain in any division❤
I did a career mode last year with this strict rule and it was by far my most favorite cuz it was so challenging
In football manager this rule exists and athletic bilbao has so many players with good potential it is challenging and so fun at the same time.
I did that too and my star signing was merino cost me like 50M
But my top 3 players where
Nico Williams 87
Kepa 85
Merino 85
I sold unai Simon for like 80M to Aston Villa which able me to buy kepa for 55M since he’s 2 years old at age 31. It was hard since you have to find unique players but every time I couldn’t find players I just use the youth academy and get like 3-4 players there from Spain 😂 but yeah a fun career mode
Sam Sparro was so underrated
Potentially the greatest domestic cup teams
"Copa del Ray's"

Inaki Williams and his brother give me a Basque energy
They gre in the basque religion and trained with the club from when they were kids
Congratulations, you just discovered immigration! I bet you're proud of yourself.

Chivas de Guadalajara do a similar thing; they only sign players with Mexican heritage and are the Mexican club with the 2nd most total trophies
D Mac i have a question. When you make these shorts, do you do the subtitles your self or does you use something to generate them with?

With all the money they saved all these years and how well they developed their academy, if they abolished it now they would compete with real and barca
They are. Since always even. Every single season. That´s why they are so awesome.

Reminds me of Brighton
Chelsea should take notes.😂
the case of Lizarazu is similar like Clement Lenglet...
I cannot see any similiraties both cases, Am I missing something there?
So, technically Bochum‘s captain Anthony Losilla could be signed, if they‘re using their policy.
