Every FIFA Team with IRL Transfer Restrictions

- For years and years the only team I knew had signing restrictions was Athletic Bilbao, but it turns out they're quite a bit more common than you might think! Thanks to Football Manager 2023 being released, I've checked every single team on FIFA for transfer restrictions, and i’ll be letting you know every single one you can try to simulate on FIFA 23 Career Mode.
I’ve even found some really cool teams that arent actually on FIFA, so i’ll be sharing them as Create-A-Club ideas on the channel soon, make sure you subscribe if you dont want to miss that video.
So, in total there are three different teams with specific signing instructions on FIFA 23. The first is the most obvious Athletic Bilbao. With their own motto about the policy, “With home-grown talent and local support, there’s no need for imports”, Bilbao have been only singing players from the Basque area of Spain for 110 years.

Athletic Club Bilbao
Can only sign Basque players
The second is another one that I've talked about on this channel before, Gimcheon Sangmu FC.
The entire Sangmu squad is made up of young South Korean Professional Footballers, who are currently serving and their military Duty. Every single season, 15 new young players will join the club, and 15 players will leave it. If you try and recreate this in FIFA I think you'll have a truly unique FIFA Career Mode save. You will be constantly turning over almost all of your squad, having 30 players at all times but never signing a player above 25 years old.
EXAMPLE KOREAN SQUAD (ignore Son lol)

Gimcheon Sangmu FC
Can only sign Korean players
The third team with a restriction isn't hardcoded, but its a general philosophy that Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot have embraced for over 20 years. Since the 2000-01 season, the club has not paid a single penny for a transfer. In 2001 too they bought one player for €380K. That’s all, that was the last time Clermont Foot spent any money on a transfer.
Clermont Foot
Can only sign free transfers and loans
For teams that have other restrictions or preferences:
Denmark
FC Midtjylland
Some Nigerian and Ghanan
FC Nordsjælland
Some Ghana and Egypt
Romania
Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe
Mostly Romanian/Hungarian
Spain
F.C. Andorra
All Andorran regens
United States
Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Mostly Canadian regens.
Toronto FC
Mostly Canadian regens.
FC Montréal

#fifa23 #careermode #hardmode - Hry
It's a shame that Liga MX isn't in the game anymore, Chivas de Guadalajara is a team that only signs Mexican/born in Mexico players
I did a save last year with Javier Hernandez who was from Las Chivas
@@_Tee03sick I got el chino Huerta CF went to 72 rated Chicharo Antuna piojo
Hull City are another interesting one with the new Turkish owner signing lots of players from the Turkish League. Makes for a unique career mode with players that you don't normally end up signing.
thats true, theres a few similar to Hull (like Wolves) so that might make a good follow-up video!
Portugal fc 😂
@@Geografifa and Celtic with japan
Yep we do now. It’s actually worked out with Pelkas and Tufan being key players but we have signed a few players from other places (a main example is Figuerido from Nottingham) so keep that in mind if you choose us
I had an idea to create an English club called 'FC Commonwealth' and only sign players from Commonwealth nations.
Great video/idea, Geografifa!! Always finding new ways to make the game more interesting by adding real life complexity.
In the A-Leagues, there is a policy that only allows teams to only sign 5 players from other countries, apart from Australia or New Zealand (for one team only who are the Wellington Phoenix, based in the capital of New Zealand, Wellington.) to promote players from Australia.
I’ve just started a Brazil/Argentina/Croatian/German/Italian Sheffield United save and I picked the countries because they produce great players and I know it’s random but it’s fun
I’m doing a save where I’m only allowed to sign Catalonian players and Belfast Dons I’m only signing Northern Irish players to rebuild their national team.
As for Gimcheon Sangmu, since loaning in is hard, you might have to buy from the transfer market, keep for no more than 2 years, then sell them. That, or use the YA to find South Korean players, and only sign those that are 17 years old, unless they're really good.
I love doing custom continent teams where I can only sign players from a certain continent, right now i'm doing one where I can only sign african players
Nice vid you got my sub and like 👍🏾
Fortuna Sittard now have Turkish owners meaning they're signing a lot of Turkish players, so they're also a good idea
For the south korean team would it be better to just completely replace the squad every 18-21 months or keep track of every player individually, very interesting concept of only being able to keep players for less than 2 years
its definitely easier to replace everyone every 2 seasons, but depends on how many you can manage to sell in a single window!
Is it possible to make a league on PS5? For example making my own local league and adding the actual teams and players in real life onto the game while still being the manager of my selected team and doing a career mode, Could be a future video idea if you could make it work 👍
Sangmu Sanju actually have players up to 30 years old, but they are all serving the military. Greetings from Seongnam
Bastia or Ajaccio with only Corse players, if you want it easier make the team with also Italian sounding french players
Can you do a video on player career mode ideas?
Where can you find a list of players born in Lancashire and Yorkshire when I search up it comes for every player from either Yorkshire or Lancashire of all time
0:58 WRONG! They sign people from the Basque Country, which also includes the French Basque Country. It's not only Spain...
Clermont Foot paid for two transfers this season.
Mateusz Wieteska: € 1.3m
Komnen Andric: €1m
Can you make a guide for all countries with a League on FIFA and what star scouts to use to make it realistic
oh wow thats a top idea, yeah i'll see if i can make one soon
You can make Real Madrid save but with only academy players
I was considering a celtic (not the team) CAC where you only sign players from the old celtic nations/regions - Scotland, Wales, NI, ROI, IoM, Cornwall and Brittany (France).
Galicia in northern Spain is also considered part of the Celtic nations
Wow, nice video man! Keep it up👍
Fc nordjaesland is my favourite team for career mode and fm You should do a deep dive into them they have the youngest overall squad in professional football with a overall age of 20.8 which is crazy and there top of the danish league
i did look at them ages ago in this video czcams.com/video/rgFd8Iw2xNU/video.html , but 100% agree they deserve more attention! Will see if i can include them in something a bit longer next time :)
@@Geografifa aw yeah I remember that one very good episode ! I like how in there development if they see a player as maybe not upto parr they do everything to keep them and make them better which is cool ! Keep up the good work
Anyone got a link to this Blackburn/Lancashire reddit? Wanted to do one like that myself.
Legend ❤❤
Correction: Sepsi relies on Hungarian Government funding. Full stop. They scout partly Hungarian players (pretty average age, not young players) and they generally look for failed players from the Romanian League.
I only sign youth players who are 6,2 feet high. It fun
X2 and eejanaika are worse
