That wiper trick blew my mind.
That was the first thing I did when I got mine. Shout out to the ClubLexus forums.
Dead ass mine has been stuck in winter mode for like 2 years and now it looks so clean
So I’m not the only one🤣
Mine doesn’t stow. I have a 2001 and a 2003 gs430. Neither stow
Get rough with them. They’ll go.
This guy extended the coolness of this car.. best car I’ve ever owned and I keep her super maintained with light mods
Bought my "salvage" GS 430 back in 2013 with 130k miles on it, now in 2022, at 240k it runs as well as it did when I bought it. I never changed the timing belt, runs super smooth with plenty of power. I have no desire to buy a new car, I am happy with my old GS430.
Change the belt my man. These are interference motors so if it snaps so will a few of you valves. The car deserves it.
@@gibsonwill18 I did a couple of months ago, the car deserved it
how do u drive a salvaged car? u never been pulled over and got in trouble for not having insurance?
@@shakky9749 a salvage car is a car that has been in an accident, but mine was repaired and was and is perfectly drivable.
@@manohoo so in california , we would call that a rebuilt title, as you got it repaired and went to get it certified by ref or dmv (not sure) that it was repaired. you did all of this?
For the stereo system, no need to press the POWER button first, just select the source - FM, AM, CD etc and the system will power on with whichever source you selected.
The 98-05 GS is an amazing car. That’s why I have 2 of them! And they are dirt cheap these days and have more like left in them then many much newer cars.
I have 2 gs too 2001 gs430 and 2002 gs300 I really love these cars, I bought my gs300 in 2007 and my gs430 in 2015 check out my Instagram page princewilliam2jz
Underestimated cars. I feel these are going to go up in value soon.
I agree. I mean we’re talking about $40K-$55K cars for $2K-$6K. What a deal!
Gregory Freeman lol I was just talking with my brother how these GS 400/430s will go up in value and then I check my comments and saw this... it was crazy timing!
Indeed! I have a 2001 gs300 and a 2003 gs300 sport design.....the craftsmanship is top notch....and the lines are timeless!
I know im late to the party and might sound mind of bias but does anyone prefer the 98-05 Lexus Gs over the 06-current style? I love the interior and features of the 06-current but i cant get with the exterior styling and body lines. The 98-05 just exterior catches my eye as well the "bubble" headlights and taillights are iconic!
I think the newer gs 350s are fire but everything else is ass gen 2s are 👑
The best thing about the '98-'05 GS versus the later ones is the inline 6. So many great luxury cars going back to at least early 60's had the inline 6 and for good reason. A v6 just isn't the same and likely not as smooth or sonorous. To be fair though, I haven't driven any other GS than my 2000 GS 300 which I've had since new. I do like the gens 3 and 4 body styles, but also not as much as gen 2.
FACTS!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
I think the 2nd gen GS is the best one and has always captured my heart.
i have an 02, and i very much prefer the second generation. that’s the gen i think of when i hear gs300
I may be replacing my '97 LS400 with a '98 GS400 next week, can't wait. The LS is nice but the lack of parts availability is killing me, the 2nd gen GS ran for a lot more years so I've decided it's a good candidate for replacement.
Just bought my 2000 gs430 2 days ago...and must say, I had many cars in my life but this is just a class on it's own. Nevertheless, these tips are awesome. Thank you 👌
Nice! I have a gs430 too
@@callister4941 me too mine has a touch screen it s an 03
how has it been so far?
@@omieecivic269
Hi,
It has been awesome and still is. I had couple of things done to it to make sure it will run well (new cambelt kit, new radiator, new brakes, new fluids).
It's a powerful car but yet sensitive for any imperfections... tomorrow its having its yearly service as it likes to run on fresh oil, clean air and good quality petrol... it definitely deserves it 🙂
You should check out all e39 bmw all the inline 6cyl are reliable but the v8 is trash, that car was way ahead of its time
Also thank you for this vid, didnt know about the cabin filter settings, and my sunroof has been stuck for 2 years and your trick fixed it today. Hallelujah!
I own an the Aristo since I live in Japan, but dang was this video an eye opener on the features I had no idea about. Nice Video
I have owned my GS since 2005 and I only knew about the wiper blades, air filter and gas tank release latch. The rest is all new to me. Thanks for the content
Man, i grew up in this car, and soon ill be able to own a car of my own, definitely looking forward to buying this beauty. The problem is Serbia has a very small amount of Lexuses ,most of which are IS 220s, and not a lot of older ones. The car i grew up in was imported from UAE.Unfortunately, right hand drive cars are forbidden here now. My chances of driving this are very small and it's killing me. You may be the only youtuber giving this car the attention it deserves.Thumbs up for that!
Thank you so much and thank you for stopping by. I wish you the best in your car search!
UAE have left hand drive system.
U can also import from Japan. You will find old Lexus cars in very good shape there and mostly right hand drive.
@@explorehunter Then it wasnt UAE, it was some other country, im not sure.
Come to UAE...it's very easy to get here for cheap and good condition !!!
@@rydarp21 i wish, but too young now to do that,im barely 18 in the process of getting a job just so i could drive a sweet lex :)
Just got my GS300 and didn't know about the window thing, Thanks!
LOVE this video, I was driving home from work the other morning & sunlight was blinding me from my left. I said "Forward Momentum!" I moved the visor using the trick you showed me & it worked perfectly! Thank you! Keep up the good work!
The key trick comes in handy in a variety of situations. My ex girlfriend was a complete rag. When she was nearby, I could hear her constantly gripe & bellyache & our relationship just wasn’t working out. As long as I’d stayed 30 feet away, our relationship was amazing. Thank you Lexus for the best relationship advice EVER!!!
I love my 2001 gs300!!!The best car I have ever owned!
I just bought a 2001 gs300. Love it! I agree with you man. It's a great ride
Bought one back in may last year. Love it
I have 99 gs400 I love it !!
I have a 2003 gs300 but I like driving my 2002 BMW 530i more. The handling and acceleration of the BMW is much better
I just dropped the motor in my 2001 gs ... also have a 01 is300
This video just made me appreciate my GS alot more. Thank you!
Epic ! Wiper and Cabin filtration surprised me , keep them coming ! Lexus GS FAMILY !(:
All cabin filters are located in your glove box on Toyota/ lexus. Not really a secret
Actually a helpful descriptive video thank you for the content It seems like you enjoy your car👍🏼
Very informative and helpful! Keep up the great work!
Just bought a 98 gs300 after years of searching for the right one.. This video helped me a LOT! Thank you!
I really wasn’t sure what to expect here but they are genuinely useful thanks!
Winter/wash mode for wipers was awesome. I never knew that.
Thank you didn't know the GS had so many feature. Great video
Great video. Never knew the key trick in the drivers door or the fuel latch. 👍👍
I just bought a 2001 GS 300 with 144 thousand miles and this thing drives so much better then any car I have ever owned. Including my 2020 SI.
Love the videos keep it coming from NYC, on my 3rd Gs current 11 year owner i have newer cars also
Thanks for showing this cool tricks.. i have a 2001 gs 300.. love the vids and info
Cool video man, nice GS400, I have a '00 GS300 that recently sustained a bit of panel damage to front passenger side. I've been slowly getting paints matching parts to get it back to original condition.
Thanks for the info. I'll keep it in mind for my 2002 GS300.
Thanks brother. Nice information about gs300
This was very helpful i truly appreciate it
I had a 2001 gs430 and i loved it a lot. My favorite Lexus from all of there models and generations. Funny thing I had those same rims on mine too. They were nice
bro nice video clips!! I stumbled across a late nite gem for my GS
Thanks for the tips. I learned something new.
Mannnn, The vipers !!! I was like i know all of these quirks....but that viper trick...never knew..and always wondered how ppl clean their GS with them in good weather position.
Ahh , yes, the vindow vipers. 😉
I've owned a twin gs400 for 6 years and didn't know half of those features. Thanks for video
Oh man, the windows and sunroof trick is great.
I love my 2000 GS 400 !!❤️
great tips..!
Enjoyed the video and enthusiasm for the lovely GS. Best class of sedan for enthusiasts Toyota ever made.
I learned 3 new ones! Great vid.
this was very informative bro thank you alot.
Great car and videos man!
Yes I enjoyed it I knew a few of them and I would like to see what you have next thank you
thank you for those tricks I thought my sunroof was broken when it's opening by it self when I tried to use the close button, but now I know thanks
Excellent video. Thanks.
Thanks sir all this time I never new these features
Hell yeah thank you. I just got one Friday. Love these little hacks.
Awesome video, I have owed 6+ of this cars and I knew about most of them but that last one surprised me! Surprised you forgot to mention the sun visors and how they move left and right as well!
Hey! You may not have seen part 2. I cover the visors there. Cheers! czcams.com/video/SDl7dlX0VrM/video.html
Looking at an 03 GS430, it's been a dream car of mine forever. Japanese muscle luxury, I can't think of a better combo.
I own a 03 GS300. Great tips. Thanks. BTW nice garage.
What color is your GS? Mine is sage green. Simply beautiful!! 03.👀👍🏾
I have a 2003 GS 300 Sport Edition and have no complaints as far as driving. She is currently in the shop getting some well needed maintenance.
Just bought a 03 gs300 I will be giving these a shot soon!
Very informative.put my wipers down and the car looks so much cleaner from the front 👍🏾. Thanks bro
Still enjoying my 2000 GS 300. Only 97,000 miles. Freaking love it. Thanks for all the tips.
Should I pay 6k for 109k for 1998
It really depends on condition and the market you’re in (i.e California vs North Dakota). If it’s almost perfect, $6K is acceptable. Any issues at all should be removed from that asking price.
Great video appreciate everything
Great video! Please create more hidden features! Also, you can move the steering wheels either lower, higher, or towards you by 1st maxing our the range then 2nd pressing the button 8 more times towards the direction you want and it should move a tiny bit more. Any confusion let me know!
I did know about this one but decided to do it in an upcoming episode. One thing I don’t like about it is it seems to encourage movement beyond the limit switch. Thankfully I believe the gears are metal in there!
@@ForwardMomentum not sure if the motor for my wheel is dying or the range is just so short. I always try to extend it as far away from cluster as possible never seems close enough. Leggy guy with short torso lol! Keep up the gs videos
Hello,I like all the information that you put out because i own a 98 GS 300 and some stuff I didn't even know about. And on mine I'm running the 2017 GS F wheels 19/8.5&19\9.5 set up.so thanks for giving me the 15 items i didn't know so keep up the good information
Did you remove your fog light assembly and see the white dial
Maybe I just didn’t pay attention. Did you find something?
Very cool I never knew some of those things thanks
Pretty cool I learned a few things. Now Fog light MOD... Thanks
Wish I still had my 98 GS400 but my buddy owns it and it's still going strong! Nice Video!
Great video!
Thanks for the input have a GS300 98
AWESOME VIDEO
AWESOME video, this is great content.
I regret selling my GS300 and will definitely get another one day (jade green!)
Great overview, hopefully you can cover other cars like my 2007 Lexus GS 350. Thank you,
Ravi Peiris M.D.
Great Video!
I just purchased a Toyota Aristo v300 vertex 2jzgte. Imma try some of these my guy. Thanks 👌
Didn't know the wiper trick or the vent one either, thanks
Nice hidden features..... just bought a 2002 GS300. I'll make a video once I get it all cleaned up
I own the same car.
Love the video !!!! You the man !!
very nice car , i love this secret features
Great video.. thanks
I own a 99GS 400 same red colour. Awesome car. Thanks for the tricks.
Thk u I just bought a gs300 99 this past week and I didn't know that.
I've had two GS300's 1 1999 and 1 2000 and the reason I've had two is because it truly is the best car ever made. And for under 10k for both who could complain?
I have the GS300 99, the only features I didn't know about was the key range extender, the wiper position and the carbon filter position. Off to try them now.
Reporting back, just tried the wiper trick, that worked and the cabin filter, unable to try the key extender at the moment but im sure that will work also. Cheers.
Awesome thanks!!
Thank for your share~
great job man
Awesome… subscribed
amazing man
I learnt 2 thns😆..the wiper position 👍and the sunroof trick👍
As always great video! I gotta check your old videos! Did you cover squeeky suspension in the rear?
Thx! No, I did not cover that. 99% of the time that’s a bushing back there.
When I was detailing Lexus' for a Lexus dealer in the late 90s/early 2000s we would shove the key blade into/under our chin to get more distance. They said it had something to do with the frequency running through your the bones as an antenna... Never knew the real reason why, but it worked. Nice video
Me too! I was a lot attendant at Ford though. 😝
Curious to see if these tricks work on the JDM cars like Aristo, Altezza, Mark 2 and Crown. I'll try it out today.
I bought a 1998 GS 400 with 178k from an auction for $1200. I drove is across country 2500 miles will no real problems. My mechanic informed me that rats are the engine knock wire and the vacuum switch valve harness, both of which triggered the CEL. During quarantine I’ve had the following replaced: knock sensors, spark plugs, vacuum switch valve connector, starter, rear breaks, and intake manifold gasket. This week I’m going to a salvage yard to pick up a trunk lid, rear bumper, rims from a 1st gen IS 300, and a side view mirror. I hope to be driving the Lexus soon. I’m proud to be a GS owner! The car is unmatched.
sold my 98 gs 400 with 225k miles back in 2011 when i moved to nyc. i loved that car
Ahhh appreciate your content bro I just bought my first car Lexus GS 300 I love it man mine came with a custom stereo touch Bluetooth sheesh 😍 Definitely watching your videos on tips and all that thanks btw are you in cali ? I’m by Pomona some help would be sick
Thanks for the kind words and for stopping by! I’m on the east coast. Welcome to the GS family!
The windows and keys had me amazed my car could do that. Needed for the hot days.
I also own a 1998 GS400 as well as several BMWs and Mercedes. I can honestly say that my Lexus is the best car I ever owned. I recently experienced a radiator failure (in a drive-thru) at 498,000 miles. I ordered a new radiator online and plan to replace it with the help of a CZcams video in hopes of hitting the coveted half a million mile milestone. Keep the excellent GS content coming and thank you!
Report back when you hit 500K! That’s awesome!
I picked up a GS300 in 2000. For 1,500. Lots of changes, now JDM JZ2 and JDM Trani.
224k new life for this beauty . Spent around 4k. Love the GS
Sensitivity for Auto Light function can be adjusted, DRL's can also be turned off, and a couple of other things that I cannot remember. The unfortunate thing for us, about pre 2007 Lexus owners, is that these things can only be adjusted through the Lexus C-BEST diagnostic/programming tools.
Toyota techstream!
@@Golo1949 I had no idea, thank you.
Number 5.
I had just gotten my GS300 (used) and I initially thought that the wiper was broken. I messed around and moved it up to winter mode (living in Seattle where it rains constantly) and got it back to where it was normally. Wasnt until this video where I now realise that its a hidden feature lol!!!
Awesome! I grew up in Seattle so I know exactly what you mean!
Forward Momentum Oh thats awesome! When I got the car and used the wiper in the summer mode, it kept making a loud “bang” whenever it went down. Thats what made me think it was broken initially. But I plan on keeping it in winter mode since it rains spontaneously here quite often.
thank you!!!!! also subbed
Great video
wow that bay is clean
One from me: If you press and hold the electric steering wheel adjustment button to extend to it's maximum position and then press the button 8 times it extends an extra 0.5inch. Same applies for the wheel going up or down.
Good to know. Thank you😅
Can confirm the window roll down work with the key in the locks on a 97 Aristo. No sunroof though on mine.
Nice 👍 Job man
great video
