Queen Alicent is as imperfect and flawed a character as any of the others. That's what makes her interesting. But that her actions are partially responsible for a totally avoidable tragedy is indisputable. Which is why she is filled regret by the end of the Dance of the Dragons.

Her dad is good to her and her children, he cares for them. And Viserys failed her terribly as a spouse and father to her children, but he did try to be good to her still. I love this show for showing complicated characters, who are realistic. They are admirable in some ways but fail terribly in other ways. These are realistic flawed people, not caricatures.
I agree with you mostly but I don't see caring for Aegon or Aemond, we only saw how Otto loves Helaena. Yet I don't think Aegon loved by anyone at all, maybe Aemond cares about him nevertheless he's not extremely empathic. They have that in common.
@@bunnywo yes. But fathers and sons have a different relationship than fathers and daughters. Viceroys seems to be a good dad to his daughters, but not to his sons.

How is her father good to her when he has always used her as a pawn? Viserys gave her more power than her own father ever did and even consulted her as Queen on matters when she was still young
@@daemontarg000 she always sits with her father on meetings, Viseriys was zombie at that point. She sits because her father made her queen indeed. On matter when Viserys really care about something he would never listen to Alicent
