Aegon is the most interesting character for me so far. I really curious what he will do in s2
He'll kill Rhaenys and be a broken and burned man for the rest of the war until he is one of the last ones left until Corlys poisons him! Oh and he will also fight Baela and kill Moondancer and feed Rhaenyra to his dragon.

Martin writes very flawed, complex, and utterly human characters. The life of Aegon ll and those around him is a bitter tragedy.

Great story - good character
I hate that they made him bully his sibling he loved them in books he even wanted build statues for his brothers to honor them
He's a male character on the wrong side with wrong skin color. So they had to ruin him (funny enough the fans still love him)
Aegon & Aemond are squad goals. Two of my favorite characters and carried the second half of season 1 on its back. The crowning was so epic in the 9th episode. It put GOT to shame.
We need an updated Aegon edit when we finally see Sunfyre in all his glory.
Aegon's coronation ceremony bit was the greatest moment in TV history.

@@BruceWayne-bg5ej I can’t remember a single thing about Jon’s scene. Doesn’t make it bad but you can’t compare it to Aegon’s ceremony. The costumes, music, props like emblem banners, and the scale of it just made it seem so epic and grand!

Flawless execution of telling Aegon’s predicament and story (so far)! Personally didn’t connect very deeply with his character, but its always nice to such storytelling that can convince you otherwise.

Is he evil and vile? Yes. But he's so god damn tragic and psychologically interesting. Definitely one of George's best characters. And Tom Glynn-Carney is PERFECT casting.
If you have to mention George, then you should know Rhaenyra is also evil and vile. I don't care if the biased show keeps changing her to pretend she's a hero.

A brilliant edit for a brilliant character. Love all the parallels of people demanding he be on the throne, yet the few dialogue he has is saying how poor of an idea that is. Great job my boy. : )

Magnificent video! 😍 I got goosebumps! I think Aegon didn't really want this shit, but he became a hostage to circumstances and his family's ambitions.
That's exactly what happened even more so in the books .. in the books when they find Aegon and tell him they are going to crown him he absolutely refuses it, he tells them that his sister Rhaenyra is the trur heir but they manipulate and trick him into accepting the crown by threatening him that Rhaenyra will all of them when in truth Rhaenyra wanted her brothers to be a part of her small council, but she was extremely against kinslaying, she didn't kill Alicent, Halaena and children even when she took king's landing even though she had three of her children to the greens by that point, luke and jace dead, and Viserys taken hostage by triarchy.. Mysaria even suggested her to force Alicent and Halaena into prostitution but she even refused that..

Im gonna be honest, they shouldnt have made aegon a rapist cause they pretty much villainized him forever. No wonder people love rhaenyra when he is the competition. I feel like he could have been a really complex and broken character. I might write a fanfic about him, changing some things
I agree. That part was really uncalled for. This just went too far.
by the way Rhaenyra is also a rapist, she raped Criston, no matter how hard you try to justify it, this is the truth
Aegon would have been a good king if he was loved and if viserys held off on making Rhaenyra heir for a bit longer as Lyonel strong suggested.
In the end he made the far better option
Look, I get you, Aegon was the better monarch- but it just wasn't his crown. He could've been an awesome Hand instead.
I hate for presenting Aegon II like a raper in the show, while he wasn't such a man.
I loved the book for this:
1. As Rhaenyra grew older, she did nothing good for the Realm as heir and she even produced 3 bastards, which is shamefull regarding her position. Either way, she always loved the spotlight as long she was loved (not for very long).
2. Aegon produced 3 heirs to just get on with it, and then he continued his drunken ways. Never loved being on the spotlight and never wanted to rule. Either way he received the throne, the crown and was forced to start a war againts his half sister who he didn't care about at all.
This is a tragic war story, and those of you who think there's a "good" or "bad" side in the story, are just clueless about the real events. That's why it's so great, because Rhaenyra was the heir, but Aegon was the ruler. Rhaenyra was the eldest, but Aegon was the man. None of them deserved the throne to be honest, and that's my opinion.

I supported Stannis The Mannis in the original and now I bend my knee to Aegon II, the one true king. Long live the king!
In the books Stannis said Aegon II was the rightful King so they are both my favorite

Rheanyra is the rightful queen. The king himself wanted her not his son on the throne. He got up from his deathbed trying to make sure of this. Emotionless much? A rapist, cruel Targaryen with so much child perversion in his mind, support that character. He will get poisoned half a year after the dance. They will proclaim King Rheanyra's son, Aegon the III.
@@alexpalpatine8437 None of what you said invalidates Aegon's birthright. And you left out the part where Aegon II named Aegon III his heir following the precedence that was set by King Jaehaerys, so it's not like the blacks can celebrate that as a win. And sure he got poisoned, but in the westeros history books, he is remembered as the rightful king followed by Aegon III. Rhaenyra's reign never counted. (I wish there was a spoiler tag, I think we will ruin it for the show watchers)
Stannis was one of the weakest characters in the show. His cruelty and unkindness was at the same level of Tywin. Both wanted to hurt their children.
No doubt Aegon is a POS, but a product of his circumstances. I don’t want to like his character, but I can’t help it for some reason.

Aegon will really start to like this idea of ruling, I think this started to be showed during the end of his coronation. There will be a point where his desire of leaving to never be found will be fulfilled, a level that not even Alicent knew where he was, yet he will want to comeback, he just leaved for urgent reasons but he still want to be king. I really wanna see his character arch going from “I have no wish to rule🤬” to “Ah yes, another day another council meeting😌”
I’m glad to know Martim’s works better to never pick a side, so I’m not a green or a black supporter, I can just appreciate the history and all its can give to me.
