  • After switching from Abeka, I have a lot to say about Master Book's "Language Lessons for a Living Education"! SO many have asked me in video comments and on Instagram for my opinion on this LLFALE, so I decided to put my response in video form. I can tell you, it's one of my very favorite Language Arts curriculum for homeschool that I've ever had the privilege to use. I'll give you a peek inside, and show you what I do to make this work for my family. Stick to the end, I have some tips for you!

Hi Mandy, you have such a great channel. Thank you for this flip-through. I have been eyeing Master Books for LA, but I ended up going with MFW. I will definitely keep this on my list. It looks great! ~Jennifer

My son is working on this Level 4. We love Masterbooks. We complete the day 5 on Monday of each week.

My son is loving it, too. I love how colorful and fun the book is!

I chunk it out throughout the week so my kids use those words everyday of the week

We also plan to use level 4. What kinds of activities are you adding in for spelling? There seems to be just one lesson per week.

Hi. Where did you get the book list for this level? Or did you just come up with books on your own? Thank you.

Is this more sight words focused? We are currently using Logic of English and I love learning the rules (like what silent e does) but I'm searching around because I wish my LA was Christian based

How are you working in this and The Nose Tree. I happen to have the same two curriculums picked out and wondered how you were making it work! Thanks.

Fix it Grammar only takes about 5-10 minute tops. In Fix it Grammar, you're only correcting 1 sentence a day, it's not like a full English program. So we will do FIG first, and then go into Language Arts. Easy peasy!

The Handmade Homeschooler - Mandy Maltz That is great to know. Because my son likes both programs. And I wondered if it would be too much! Thank you!

Shelley Mattson I’ve been wanting to do both but wasn’t sure how it would
Work! This is a great question!

Do you feel that any extra supplemental spelling is needed with this?
