    I'm almost sure that the button on the front underside on the driver's side on the F40 is for popping up the headlights... (8:02 - 8:10)

    • @markporthouse
      @markporthouse  Před 5 lety +2

      Very good point. There is a button on the underside of the car below one of the headlights (just like my Kyosho 12th scale Countach) which, when pressed, lifts that headlight slightly enabling you to lift it further manually.

    At 20:15 - This is why I always wash my hands before handling any of my models. The kind of thing you learn after building/handling models for over 65 years! Excellent video!

    it still baffles me to no end why Tamiya in all their wisdom didnt cover the F40 in 1/12 when they did both the F50 and Enzo. F40 is THE iconic modern Ferrari and probably only second to the 250 GTO overall

    • @markporthouse
      @markporthouse  Před 4 lety +1

      Good point. There must be a lot of demand for the full set of GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and LaFerrari.

    Could be good to see the detaching of their wheels, and if the gear shifter on 288 is working.
    Anyway, a good review !

    nice review mate. thanks! whats your opinion? they deserve this days prices? 500 euro each?

    • @markporthouse
      @markporthouse  Před 4 lety +1

      Definitely. To be honest, I don't understand why they aren't worth more than that. I don't like the new Amalgam 1/18 resin cast GTO - not as good in my opinion, and that goes for 700 euro.

    • @markporthouse
      @markporthouse  Před 4 lety +1

      BTW, I'm speaking about the GTO, not the F40. I'm surprised at the values of the Kyosho 1/12th F40 at 350 Euro.

      thanks... i have an offert to get the 288 gto and the porsche gt for 800 euro... i will probably take it! do you know all the models from the tamuiya club collectors series? or where i can find a list with all of them? thanks again!

      I think that there is an F50 and an Enzo. But I think that is it (288 and Carrera GT like you mention).

      @@markporthouse - I have the Amalgam 1:12 Lotus F1 car and it was $1,000 new! Personally, I think their cars are nice, but not for the sometimes ridiculous price they charge, especially since they have far fewer parts and are sealed! I won't be purchasing another one for that reason. For my money, Tamiya makes some of the very best kits (true full assembly kits). One of my favorites is the Caterham Super 7. I built both the BDR and the Cycle Fender Special. Outstanding moldings, exquisite fabrication and finish on metal parts, and flawless assembly fit. The suspension is one of the best I've seen on any model car kit. The tiny lug nuts on the wheels are very cool.

    Is the shape of the 1:12 f40 better than kyoshos 1:18 f40? The 1:18 f40 shape is so wrong it annoys me .

    • @markporthouse
      @markporthouse  Před 4 lety

      His sounds similar to my dislike for the 18th scale Kyosho Countach - the roofline seems wrong.
      The 12th scale Kyosho F40 shape is excellent - I can't fault it.

    GTO seats are disgusting and poorly made honestly, the rest of the model is alright a lil expensive for what it should cost but alright.
