    And it's EXACTLY the same F40 as Amalgam. The only difference is Amalgam has a better base and comes with a certificate. But it is essentially the same model.

    funny story - I bought a model very very similar to this one off of an Facebook ad - bad mistake. it arrived yesterday. nice black box. when open I noticed the driver seat was loose and sitting on top go the passenger seat. turn model over to try to move the seat and the rear spoiler fell off. the tires are plain black &no writing and the well covers look like the belong on a hotwheels toy. I do now own a beautiful black leather base.

  • @F40Driver

    To be honest, the engine doesn´t look good, the resin Kyosho F40 looks better in that area, also has more decals, for example the factory instruction on the windshied and head lights.
    This one looks more accurate in terms of shape but I dont feel it is the definitive version.
    I still think the best F40 is the diecast high end series, with all it´s opening parts, number of pieces, full engine detail and pop up head lights.

    • @modernshifter1735
      @modernshifter1735 Před 3 lety +3

      While all the opening parts are nice, it just doesn't look as good as this Autobarn version. On the diecast Kyosho, the shape of the headlights are off as well.

    im afraid im not seeing what your seeing Rob. ive mostly walked away from resins but i made it a mission to source the Kyosho resin F40 as no 1/18 diecast version got the shape and stance right. this one doesnt look anywhere as good as the Kyosho to me ...the front wheels look too far inset the tyres dont look right the rear silver rivets are just plain wrong the mesh surround is all black just as on the Kyosho which also simulates the rivets, the engine looks completely pedestrian compared to the Kyosho. we cant really see but ill take your word the interior might be better but honestly thats the least important part of a resin car. Kyosho version is much better than this to my eyes.

  • @IJsbeer74
    @IJsbeer74 Před 2 lety

    Looks fantastic. Too bad they were available in such limited quantities only. Which leads me to believe that these are models that were produced for Amalgam, but for some reason didn't make it through QC. Otherwise they surely could have made a few more models? Or is Amalgam 1/18 really overrated, as I've read here and there?

    • @ROBSMODELCARS
      @ROBSMODELCARS  Před 2 lety +2

      These are made by the Amalgam factory, and yes, it is my belief that these did not pass QC hence why they became available. From what I have seen, the 1/18 Amalgam models are no better quality than BBR models. Very overrated for the price, you are paying extra for the display case and the Ferrari information booklet included.

    • @IJsbeer74
      @IJsbeer74 Před 2 lety

      @@ROBSMODELCARS Thanks a lot for these reviews! They're really helpful. Since the F40 is also my favourite, just for this specific model I'd be willing to fork out more just to get the best possible. The 1/8 Amalgam would be just too much, but a 1/18 Amalgam may be the treat, looking at your other review with the AB/BBR/Kyosho comparison. BBR was a bit disappointing there imho.
      The Amalgam F40 looks spectacular on pictures, but looking at the Amalgam 1/18 Miura for example, the chrome around the rear fog lights looks a bit unfinished, so having these reviews of actual specimens is great. I also liked the one with the 288 GTO KK-scale/Hotwheels. Glad I did buy the KK-scale. Very nice model for the price.
