There are pretty clearly way to accomplish anything you can do with a flipper for much less money. In many cases you can uses devices you already own with free software. The esp32 and IR blaster mentioned cost a tiny fraction of the flipper.
If you're the target audience I wouldn't be bragging about it.
@@SineN0mine3 Yea sure, except not everyone wants to hard solder boards together and tinker around with half-built unsupported firmwares online. The best part about flipper more than anything is the development community surrounding it.

Just get the esp32 only u can do lot of things with it.... Its amazing 🤩🤩
And for a non standard user, it replaces a proxmark for rfid implants and normal tags, a bus pirate for serial communication/ fuzzing, a logic analyzer, a pwm generator,a ch341a, a badusb (can be used to type in credentials), and a U2F key. And this is out of the box without the community made applications and without talking about the ble, one wire, or infrared communication
The issue is that influencers misrepresented it and advertised it to non tech savy consumers. Just like a newbie installing Kali, they don't understand the tools or how powerful they can be in the right or wrong hands. Like it may be funny to spam bluetooth beacons to annoy your friends but it can crash an insulin pump connected to a phone
