      Your learning to far forward when you are doing the naruto run. The angle of the lean is based more on the speed you are running than how far you lean forward because if you watch in the anime when they are running that way it's because they are running at such extreme speeds the forward lean helps center you gravity while you run but when they run at close to a normal human speed they aren't leaned an extreme angle forward but a small angle maybe no more than a 15 degree angle.

    Hey
    Love the show.
    About the anime style Running, one point I didn't see touched is: How fast does one need to go, for anime style running to be viable.
    This thought comes from riding. See when you ride a motorcycle, and you near triple digits speeds and your leaned forward (if on a naked bike or sports bike) the wind actually gives you some lift.
    There come the question how fast would you have to run at to be able to get enough lift to counter balance the forward lean? And thus be able to wholly concentrate just on moving the legs

    • @leeman27534
      @leeman27534 Před 4 lety +2

      tbh thought of it myself, but yeah, if you could move fast enough, you'd kinda be able to fall forward and sorta jump, ratehr than just sprint, really.

    • @Maginus-Sama
      @Maginus-Sama Před 4 lety +3

      @@leeman27534 mmm, that would need to be going even faster than my original thought.
      Other than that, yeah, as he would just need to "jump" forward and let the air under the body keep your body up.

    • @leeman27534
      @leeman27534 Před 4 lety +2

      @@Maginus-Sama pretty much. it sorta fits anime, since people can move like light speed seemingly, but you'd have to basically be moving so fast, that even falling forwards at a dead sprint, with the wind resistance on your body, you'd not really completely fall forward.

    • @aswaney7449
      @aswaney7449 Před 4 lety +1

    I might be a bit late, but this is very important. As a much younger and dumber individual, I attempted an almost 90 degree bend leaning forward and doing the anime running. I ran for a grand total of five seconds at the most. I did not fall on my face, but instead suffered agonizing pain in my lower back for two weeks that OTC pain meds barely touched. I wasn't able to walk the next day after the pain set in, which took several hours to kick in after the fact.

Stoves have come a long way in the past few years with the EPA mandating the smoke emission limit for wood stoves drop from 4.5 grams of smoke per hour to 2.0 g/h in May of 2020.

    After a year, my dad installed a small woodstove for heat, in the snowy Bruce Peninsula/Georgian Bay/Lake Huron winter months, to offset the ridiculously high power bills.
    Between my parents, my brother and myself, the closest thing any of us had to what you described, was i had a severe nosebleed one day,.
    The doctors stopped it, suggested a kettle of water be kept on the stove to prevent the air drying out so much. And never had 'any' problem(s) again (aside from callouses and blisters from splitting wood) (the stove worked so well, at times we had open some windows a crack, because it was so warm in the house)

    Awe Magic.... great game! I started way back in 4th edition. I think I left off in ice age. Would like to get back into it, but all the new rules and effects are kinda hard to rap your head around.
    You could do a complete mini-series on things like deck building, combos, land to spell ratios, and probably a whole host of other things.
    Just really explore the science behind the game. That would be epic. Why, you may ask.

    Many moons ago when I was a runner in high school we were taught that there's two different ways of running, depending on what you're trying to do. When you're running long distances, and your goal is more endurance over speed, you run so your foot hits the ground heel first, followed by your toes. When you're sprinting, and your goal is pure speed, you run on your toes alone; your heels never touch the ground. I don't remember the exact reason for this but I suspect it's because running on your toes gives you greater power but is also more exhausting: hence why you generally do it sprinting short distances but not long.
    At some point we actually noticed that one of the guys on my track/cross country teams in high school had actually, unconsciously, trained himself to run distances on his toes. This simple difference between how he ran & how the rest of us did made him one of our best distance runners on the team; only surpassed by one or two significantly more experienced runners.

    Seriously though, good advice; buuut in my opinion, propane stoves can be worse, especially if the guage measuring the fuel ends up freezing in place (say 40% full,) only for you to run out of propane in reality; and you end up with an excess buildup of gas in the line leading to the heater that doesn't dissipate properly. So even if you follow the instructions on lighting the pilot light to the letter, it'll only blow up in your face. So you end up burnt with metal fragments and other debris in the wounds/orifices on the face (God forbid it gets in ones eyes because of potential blindness,) making life a pain until you heal(Personal experience. Don't let this happen as it's not fun.)

    Loved the video!
    The thing with anime running is... that is based on chakra :/. Bear with me here :)
    It's been a long while since I saw the show but I recall part of the skills ninja had, was to channel chakra/energy to the feet (to walk on water, stick to surfaces, and explosive jumping) so I always assumed that when running or otherwise jumping off tree branches, as they do on each episode; was done applying chakra to feet/legs.
    Considering that, running would give you a speed boost on each step, not dissimilar to the impulse felt when a plane takes off... Imagine riding a turbo motor skateboard. You need to learn forward to decrease drag yes, but also to maintain balance against the force pushing you...
    So :) if each of your legs was a powerful spring and you'd want that force to move you forward (instead of up) you'd have to lean, to direct the force no?, keeping your arms back..because you'd waste energy countering drag and force.
    tl;dr: if your legs made explosive speed boosts, anime running would make sense :)
    (Man that was very nerdy drawing..need a Dyson sphere now) cheers

    Great show mr. Thor Wick.
    Perhaps, because of the use of chakra during the run, the shinobi in the world of Naruto are able to reach higher speeds naturally (which could possibly be inferred from the length of their steps). In which case the force of drag does become a more important factor than you've initially stated.
