Being an Italian from Italy I can tell you that generally we consider ourselves white(since we are caucasian) but more specifically we see ourselves as Mediterraneans(like spanish or greeks) since our skin is darker than north europeans

Italians are extremely diverse from place to place so making stereotypes about italians just doesnt work as we are all different from each other. The northerners are culturaly closer to the french than woth southern italians and every region overall has its own stile. The stereotypical italy is the campania region where pizza originated from and where naples is located, also famous for mafia, the beautiful coastlines, The angry people, the poverty etc. Every country has its own diversity and even a country like finland which is known for being all the same has with just 5,5 million people allot of diversity. Now imagine a country with 60 million people which is known for its cultural history and diversity and conflicts.

In Finland we have a product called Raketti Spagetti (translates to Rocket Spaghetti). It's basically spaghetti that has been broken again and again until it's only about 3cm per spaghetti noodle. You'll find it right next to Barilla spaghetti in most supermarkets. I have no idea how they haven't declared war yet.

And Italians can't even blame Americans for the whole putting pineapple on pizza thing when it was the Canadians that invented it! At a place called Chatham-Kent. Sam Panopoulos, a Greek-born Canadian, created the first Hawaiian pizza in 1962. Inspired in part by his experience preparing Chinese dishes which commonly mix sweet and savory flavors, Panopoulos experimented with adding pineapple, ham, bacon, and other toppings. These additions were not initially very popular. The name of this creation was apparently chosen after the brand of canned pineapple that Sam selected for making them at the time
But here is something American to get riled up: Chicago deep-dish IS pizza! Pizza can come in different shapes and form, whether it's rectangular and puffy like Detroit-style or Sicilian, puts sauce on top of the cheese like a Grandma pizza, or barely any cheese at all like a Trenton tomato pie. So just because it looks different, doesn't mean it's not a pizza!
