- Soren and Daniel talk about a strange thing from the WGA awards, try to invent a word to describe the very particular feeling of almost being a hero, and realize Soren will eventually have to have an opinion on how Daniel's wedding went.
Whether you need help inventing a word or you just want to say hi, we'd love to hear from you. You can find us, follow us, or email us:

Daniel said, "fian-Shea" so many times, and Soren never once commented on it! 😂 I noticed it, Daniel!
Actually I think Soren did mention that he likes it the very first time Dan used the word haha
They probably don't read the CZcams comments but the words I use for that feeling when you have something prepared but don't get to use it is "impotent rage".
but the point is to find a word that's specific to the situation (being prepared and not being able to show off)... impotent rage can be felt for several reasons, not just that
@@ZincAddict until a better term is coined then I'm gonna keep going with impotent rage. Or flaccid rage.
I just noticed it says "Good to sea you" behind Daniel. Classic.
Daniel not knowing the word for Disappointment is strangely endearing.
Maybe call it "Prep-teased"
just started the show. daniel is so damn handsome
Back off he's engaged!
How about "anticipointment". Daniel was anticipointed about the power outage
We're gonna have to do a poll cause this is excellent too.
People, use the bug out bags when you go camping. Then you'll know what works and what does not. And you'll also know how to use the stuff when shit hits the fan.
Getting Stock Blocked? Like you had the right equipment in stock but then you didn't need it...
Glad to see the return of Soren's plant
Just went back and check from the first one they did like this and that is NOT the same plant or pot. Soren seems to not have a green thumb.
Soren “Haver of Strong Opinions About Champagne” Bowie. 😂
Oh also, no objections at all here on continuing to talk about wedding stuff on this show. As someone who just got married almost a year ago it is so cool hearing this talked about having gone through all of it circa 2022-2023.
He hates it so much!
I mean, you really should tell your partner about your house's emergency kits beforehand because emergencies might happen when you're not home and they are home.
But now you're cutting out the dramatic race home from these heroes' stories.
We have a power outage here in Ulaanbataar pretty much every night around 1AM, bang in the middle of my workday. 90% of these outages only last a few minutes, and after years of filling my apartment with emergency lights I finally figured out the best approach is just to sit in the darkness and wait it out. It's not even worth turning on my phone's hotspot so I can get my tablet online.
The problem is that 10% of the time the outage will last an hour or more, so every couple of weeks I find myself sitting in the darkness like an idiot, surrounded by unused flashlights that feel just a few steps too far away to bother to find.

A feeling of Disprepair or
Prepididymal Hypertension
About the preparedness term. I am a believer in the definition of Luck being 'when preparation meets opportunity.'
With that in mind, and specifically in Daniel's example i think we should start using the term "premature eluckulation" as you were ready for the blackout and just let it show a bit too early.
"I didn't want to make it about blue balls" - Daniel O'Brien, days before realizing he needed to dig down past blue balls to get to this.
@QQPodcast Well, in that case, I apologize for my crassness. I had thought the blue balls bit was about being owed or tortured, not general classiness of the term you were looking for.
How dare DOB talk about his wedding?
I come to this pod to hear about their lives, not about their plans to get married
Someone had to say it !!!
My wedding was in an alley and my reception was us and our friends at a local restaurant. It was still our dream weddding because it was us together. It sounds sappy, but go with your gut when you smell wedding racket bullshit
Love this
I think the phrase is 'Missed Prep-ortunity', just my 2 cents
This is good too! Ya'll should write for Sniglets.
Every anniversary my brother thinks its nice to bring me and my wife champagne. A nice gesture for sure but now i have 6 freakin bottles sitting in the pantry. I can only hope somebody else does something of note to pass it off to
Preparedness and Petty - I think "Prepettiness" nicely encapsulates how Daniel's feeling. Prepetty 🙃
It has a nice mouth feel.
I'm pretty sure its Bridezilla and Groomzooky.
Can anyone point me to the lyrics to the theme song? I sing along with every episodes intro and somewhere along the way I fall into mumbles. Somewhere near the "What's your favorite?" line. Please and thank you.
This reddit thread has the lyrics + a comment from the songwriter themselves!

Also, portmanteau. Portamento is a musical term meaning sliding from one note to another.
I thought it might be a joke, but I'm not so sure.
@@straydogstrut00yes, I'm not sure which one, but they made jokes about portmanteau and portamento in a previous podcast
Ahh good to know! I'm better at computers than writing. - Gabe
Preparedless? Preparedloss?
People remember the free drinks and good music the most
Agreed 100% with Soren's notes about the champagne toast. If the bride and groom want champagne for themselves, they can invest in a nice bottle that is for them alone, and everyone else can toast with whatever drinks they have from the open bar. (Also noting, you may have some teetotalers in the crowd who won't want booze at all. Why pay for them to have a glass of mediocre bubbly they won't even drink?)
Daniel's gonna be married, have a kid, and that kid will be in preschool before we see his birthday present for his 2017 birthday.
This gift is truly The Winds of Winter isn't it?
I say we call Dan's fan base DOB-ies...
So who gets to be Daniel's best man? A brother? Soren? A surprise wild card third party?
We should do a Bachelor style Quick Question spin-off to determine it.
Soren's wife's name is Colleen! How do you get Colleen wrong? Soren is an unusual name, you might get that wrong, but come on! Colleen!
I had the same thought. It really has to be her maiden name that was mistaken.
I've got a quick quick comment for you alright
