Btw, Greg’s turning around scene really got me. I genuinely feared something bad was going to happen. Keeping players in suspense and fearing the unknown is a fantastic idea.
Gotta keep that tension up!
I don't know if I should be impressed, or scared, off how Bodger manages to consistently fuck up everything they're trying to do, which is not fighting. The dedication to the character, despite the risk of his group at some point deciding to murder him in his sleep, is impressive, and scary :D
My first dnd character was murdered and all I did was wrap entrails around my mate as part of my killing blow, sneak random crap into his backpack to encumber him, try to play a musical instrument as loudly as possible having entered a dungeon, tried to trick him into drinking a paralysis potion. Tried... wait, actually, i'm starting to see it now.
I know! 🤣 It is both the most entertaining and most exasperating part of each video. It kind of reminds me of when Ray Park was playing Snake Eyes and refused to break character when in costume, then refused to take of the costume when on set. Since he was the resident expert on G.I. Joe among the actors all the members off the film staff would send the other actors to bother Ray with their questions, only to have Ray respond with a classic Snake Eyes line.
His conviction to continue despite Rob punishing him more and more is also impressive lol.

As a Dm of 40 years, I gotta say, if Rowan had kept deliberately sabotaging the game for the other players, he'd be off my table. Love 'im in every other VLD thing, but damn, his attention-whoring just becomes tiring after a certain point.
Monster encounter would have attacked earlier but spent the last 2 hours watching the party antics, wondering what they would do next...
I feel like Rob was just waiting for bodger to slip up to start the sequence and if he hadn't it would gone all night
I chose to believe that when Rob is jamming to Bodger's beatboxing, it's actually Auril listening to it
I've never laughed so hard at anything, but the most frightening antagonist of this campaign is Rowan's attention span.
Not gonna lie, i would be down for a multiple hour long video of an entire day of them playing. i kinda like the story. 10/10 would watch that.
The episodes are soo much fun, they feel too short almost.

I once played a game of D20 with some guys from high school and one guy tried to open a door, but it was locked, he had no tools to pick it, he failed his attempt to break the door down, and in his frustration, threw a bunch of nearby abandoned puppies at the door.
I had my character just walk up and shoot the lock. I could only imagine what the scene would have looked like from the perspective of the npc crowds walking by...
I had a rogue that always sided with the villains' monologues to try and trick them, but eventually it grew into just siding with the NPCs against the party. Things go surprisingly smooth when the city guard thinks you, the hooded rogue with daggers and thieving tools in all your pockets, are actually the voice of reason. 😂

I just decided to watch these 3 days ago. Watched from part one to part 31 in such a short time
I actually started them when they had about 25 done already and started getting real sad when i realized i was going to have to wait for more lol

They've been getting sponsored and free game kits for doing it, so it seems to pay off in it's own ways. That said, I know what you mean, compared to their normal channel that pulls 500k views on average. This certainly is much smaller, but they do still give it their all with the in character cuts and presentation.
I'm hoping one day we'll get two or even three video's a week if the channel grows enough. I know what they are doing with this is probably pretty time consuming already, but I'd love to see it.

Rowan is infuriating! This is so funny to watch, but I have no idea how anyone puts up with playing with him. Every week I'm more and more amazed at how Rob puts up with him. Such a good dm. Adam is an excellent player though. That's someone you want in your game.

This is the most entertaining D&D session where nothing much goes on for NPCs, and without any combat as well, that I've ever seen; and possibly that's ever been played even.

In retrospect, the VLDL guys have come a long way with D&D. It might just be editing but it seems like they're not having to reference Rob as much with the rules and such. They also seem to be settling into their own group play style, which is rather entertaining to watch as a spectator.
This bit might seem a bit sadistic, but I wonder if Rob would ever be willing to subject them to a game of AD&D.

@@hreg5260 "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" it was one of the early follow-ups to 1E that allowed for a whole host of new gameplay for high-level PCs and enhanced difficulty scenarios. Most of the material you can find online for free now and I'd recommend checking it out. Be warned though, it's a whole different beast from 5E.

Ah ! 31 épisodes it took ! The artificier at my table always, always uses pebbles for her illusions, it's just a reflex she had from the first time she decided to use her ability ! Only once did she use a spoon, it was quite a big deal ! Granted, I've only done dungeons, so that is quite easy to find, never run out of these... Damn, I should be dungeon preping right now, and yet I keep watching you...
So they basically just spend two hours pissing each other off out of boredom. Sounds like my D&D group.

The best thing about this series is the banter and crazy ideas that you all come up with. It really makes me want to do some D&D. Only thing for me is none of my friends are interested in it. I'd have to play with randoms, which probably won't be as fun.

I just binged watched from the beginning. DM has rolled natural 20 for Patience pretty much every episode.
It's like turning on TV for the football and seeing a bunch of randoms from the crowd being picked to play because the team buses both broke down. Good effort.

Teabreak was so worth it after behind the screen this week. Bodger made it less than a session after being, as Rob said, "specifically told by an npc not to call Auriel a b**** " before he called her a b****. Brilliant. KNEW it was coming but still an awesome moment and the looks of horror from the guys as he starts and they can telegraph it. Can't wait for next week (as ever but can't wait to see what happens to Bodger- my personal guess is Baradun or Bob offer the villagers sacrifices to appease her)

I used to watch VLDL when they had their first D&D campaign on their main channel but kind of fell out of watching right after it was finished. When I finally came back about two weeks ago and saw them mention this channel I knew I had to check it out. It took me a while but I’ve finally caught up and I am equally glad that I can look forward to the new episodes each week and sad because I can’t just binge watch six episodes at a time :’)
When Bodger did the beat box, I was waiting for Greg to say, "I'm going to record that!"
