@@westrim Probably, he thought certain randomized characters in his story were hard coded/predefined, but they weren't. Or he didn't know how to mod it (or think he should need to). Wildermyth is a great game system imo, but people might want to tweak certain things.
Wildermyth is procedurally generated, in terms of the characters and story details (who the characters are, both player characters and the vast majority of npcs, what they look like, etc.), unless you want to customize it yourself. It's designed to be highly moddable. You can determine the gender and gender preference of your own characters and any later recruited character (along with the rest of their traits), but when you autogenerate them, you should look at their customize menu regardless, because it may not have autogenerated what you want to play with. (Percentage chances of all values are determined by files in the game that can be modded, including the odds of a character being x,y,z.) By default, there are stories where other characters in some of the stories along the way can end up being in kinds of relationships you might not want to see or might not make sense to you, and might assign past affiliations to a character (in that playthrough; all playthroughs are pretty short). They are not hard coded or predefined characters. (This is CZcams, my account was threatened recently and I don't want a channel strike, so forgive me not talking in plain english. Define the value of x,y,z however you like. It's probably possible in the game.)
By default the odds of autogenerated player characters being x,y,z are meant to be fairly realistic. I modded my game to be completely realistic. The odds in any story where there is an existing prior relationship of npcs being x,y,z are 50/50 (between the relevant traits enabled by default), as far as I can tell, which if you get the wrong roll of the dice can be a little immersion breaking or even potentially offensive depending on your worldview. The game will be internally consistent between the characters it generates and their traits, but it may still be immersion breaking. This is possible to mod as well, but it's more complicated as it involves modding the specific story files those npcs would first appear in, defining certain traits or character dependencies that would otherwise be fully random. Tools to do so are provided in game, but it takes a little effort to learn how to do it, and it's not super user friendly/easy to navigate to exactly what you want to work with until you've really got a handle on it.
However, there aren't very many stories featuring npcs in romantic or formerly romantic relationships in the game unless you mod it. That can be a double edged sword, because it could be that a defining relationship could be offputting to you or break your immersion, if you haven't modded a particular story module ahead of time to better define those autogenerated npcs. Exacerbating that, there are mods hosted on Steam and Nexus that push the character generation odds to heavily unrealistic proportions (which is fine, it's your game, do what you want), but if someone were to publish a mod tweaking the numbers or story files in the other direction, it'd get your account struck or banned and your mod would be taken down because of corporations taking the political stances they have, so nobody's going to post those. Consequently, those mod hosting site policies end up hurting the games' sales, because most people don't have the time or patience to mod those things that disrupt their enjoyment of a game themselves, even when modding is supported in the app.
Not responding to you personally, but just generally to anyone who reads this:
Personally, I think Wildermyth is a great game that benefits from a few great mods that are out there now, though there aren't a whole lot of them. My general recommendation is to give the game a try if you think it looks interesting, and if something breaks your immersion too badly, to take the time to learn how to mod story modules and generation files (and what not to do, I had to reinstall mine from scratch once while figuring things out). It's worth learning and tweaking things to improve your own immersion imo.
That leather onsie was going to have a +10 resistance to Orcs, and the kiss would have given him Inspiration AND would have made all the orcs embarrassed so they'd have -4 to all their attacks. It was a great buff that he just squandered.
this is so realistic. some game dialogue choices just forces you to flirt and serves no purpose to the story.

I've done a small amount of acting in the past so this is what I understood during my time with an agent. You don't really have a portfolio, you just go into auditions and get jobs that way. The clients mainly want to see you in the context of whatever the scene or part will be. What you've done previously isn't really important if the client can't picture you in their job. I never had to send in clips or videos from previous parts I've done. Which is good because I tended to struggle to get the finished product sent to me. I can't imagine anyone needing a portfolio. Most of the time the clients already know what they want and they are just doing auditions to see you in the role and make sure you aren't total dogshit😂

It depends though. Sometimes people will want to see that you have some experience with acting. I have had to send out my acting resume to a few places. But the audition is definitely the main thing. The resume is more alongside it, for them to know what they're working with

This is why I will forever appreciate that in Fallout 4, if you force your camera to the side far enough, your character will break out of the cutscene, allowing you to shoot the NPC mid dialogue or run away from the scripted concersation, effectively giving you an easy out of a portion of the quest.

I had this when playing Mass Effect 3. After a main mission most of the romanceable characters were waiting for me to chat in the citadel, their dialogue was litterally "ENGAGE ROMANCE -> Yes/No".
After rejecting everyone I went back to the ship, and then Samantha came and asked if she could use the shower. I was like "W...T..F. IS GOING ON HERE!?!?!"
Yeah, Bioware is determined to make the player "romance" companions and to force love triangles into existence. I finally got around to playing Dragon Age Origins and got ninjamanced by Alistair because that happens while playing as a female character. I was so annoyed. And my first Shepard didn't romance anyone, and I swear the game calls you out on it, with a character straight up asking you why you're not in a relationship. During an alien invasion. While saving the galaxy. And being dead for 2 years. And only with people under your command.
So... Basically just like in real life, no? Someone attracted to you they they'll push some romance to you hoping that you'll reciprocate. And if you're not in a relationship people around you would keep bugging you about it.
And you can reject all advances very easily. I don't see the problem here.
@@MM-id2fp No, they're not. The problem you have with Origins can be solved by reading the dialogue carefully and listening to what the characters are saying. Same with Mass Effect. The only time I've seen anyone accidentally fall into a romance was when they were bum rushing through dialogue. I once made that mistake with Zevran in Origins during one of my first playthroughs. Learnt my lesson real quick.
