It has the G80 auto locking rear diff like all GM trucks use. With the exception of the manually selectable rear (and front) locking one in the ZR2

I agree, I don't get why automakers are so adamant on replacing column mounted gear levers, which are out of the way, easy to use with any type of gloves, and can be operated solely by feel. If they think it makes the car look old fashioned, then redesign them.

I have an 06 tahoe Z71 with 215,000 miles on it and paid $44,000. It’s been great for us but no way would I pay 76k for another one. Gonna jump to the Ford Bronco.

What’s nice with the 3/4 liftgate option is it’s programmable to more than just 3/4 height. Just manually move the liftgate to the desired height and hold the close button until it beeps. Now it will remember to only open to that set height.
Why the hell does a center console need to move? Plus in 10 years, half of those motors aren't going to work...
Wrong those motors are the best in the industry, they aren't eco boosts...

Column mounted selectors must look to out dated for GM, Oh and Ram and most of F-150's. Yet they're easy to use without looking even with gloves, they rarely break, and are still out of the way. I doubt the button/pull whatever's, with go over well in the Police versions.
The rear window wiper hiding is something the 4runner has been doing since 2010.
While everyone else's is exposed.

I already sold 2 2021 Tahoe premier and the z71 they ride amazing smooth I honestly was blown away it does not feel like a truck more like a full Length Cadillac.
Well they do share the same platform and 80% of the same parts ..

Fun fact: in the collision industry you wouldn’t be able to use an aftermarket tail lamp in a new tahoe. The insurance would owe to replace the lamp with an OEM. Aftermarket companies cant use trademarked symbols or words on their parts. So in order to restore a vehicle to pre-loss condition you would have to replace a tail lamp in this case with a OEM part. Im pretty sure that’s one of the reasons they do it.

The slot on left of steering is actually for the controls of the HUD not offered on Z71 but should be.

I think this is the perfect car for a family with 2+ kids, a dad that is a office worker during the week but lite trail blazer on weekends, and a mom that keeps a lot of stuff in the car.

Chevy has really watered down the Z71 package... It seems like Ford and Dodge are taking chances and carving out their own respective niches while GM is content with mediocracy.
3/4 is so you can program the height. It does not mean the lift gate will go up 3/4 of the way up. Also they are recovery hooks, not tow hooks...
The money and resources used for the power console could have been used for LED rear turn signals.

The entire time I was watching this I felt like the entire interior was lacking any quality besides the areas they just bombed leather onto. ALL the buttons looks cheap and frail... The Ford Expedition looks better and has a more high quality and durable interior. Its 3 years old and I'd still take it over the Chevy any day. Even if the only engine available is an Eco(or)boost.

I live in Gainesville, Florida and work as a lot guy/porter across the street from our local Chevy dealer which is pretty big and well known. As soon as the new 2021's were released and the first one got there (the beginning of this week), Ryan Lochte traded his 2013 land rover discovery autobiography edition in on one of these bad boys lol had the pleasure of driving his Land Rover to run a few errands since we bought it somehow 😂 felt like a swimmer in it. Now I'm gonna have to look forward to driving a new Hoe

People don't realize, red is actually the strongest paint. Something about chemical composition that makes up the color makes it about 3% stronger, thus supporting the metal it's painted on. It may not seem like a lot, but when in recovery, everything counts.
Overhead valve, cam in block, push rod engines are old school, but so are single and double overhead cam engines, they've been around for more than 110 years! What makes any of these engines modern is the electronics! And all of them have modern high-tech electronics!
