      Tells you how much the BMW deppreciates. You never included how expensive the BMW is to service including the Life and cost of those BMW batteries. If wasn't the BMW one would call a collectable. It's hard to believe one can purchase a 10 year old hybrid for $30000 unless it's because it was a failure that tells me to avoid that Awd BMW. Your tester is a base $40,000 mustang likely with 317 gears. Regular exhaust and base tires and interior.
      Here's the Hugh issue with the BMW I8.
      Most say that the new $160,000 BMW i8 was a failure for BMW because it didn't excel in either performance or eco-friendliness, and it lost half its value in its first year: The 1st year of ownership. That sucks.

      You guys throw out these numbers without even thinking about the costs to produce these cars. The technology the I8 had 10 years ago was highly innovative and expensive as h*ll!! It’s much cheaper now, so you can’t compare it to today’s similar vehicles. The I8 was a bespoke vehicle, meaning there was not a lot of carry over from other BMWs they could use to cut costs.

      Very true. A lot of misdirected hate towards the car. BMW obviously knew what they were doing and they certainly could have made it more powerful had they wanted to, but that wasn’t the point. Part of me is kind of glad that it was misunderstood because it allowed me to buy one 7 years ago at half price with only 5,000 miles on it. It’s a wonderful car. You can glide around town in electric mode and then go into sport mode and it becomes a different car. It may not be supercar fast, but it is not slow. The electric torque delivery makes it feel quite quick. I traded in an F10 M5 with 200 more horsepower, but the i8 feels quicker. Plus I got about 18 mpg in the M5. In the i8 I get close to 50.

    @evilinside5984 Před měsícem +1

    @TheFastLaneCar- There should be no surprise, that a $150,000 vehicle, has a better interior, vs a $50,000 vehicle. To calculate power to weight more accurately, tq has to be included. Example: If the BMW has a combined Hp of 357, & combined Tq. Of 535, add together, then divide. So 892 divided by 2= 446 combined power output average, divided by weight. Then the mustang's 486 Hp, & 415 Tq.= 901 divided by 2= approx. the same @ 450.5 combined power output average, ( @ sea Level ), not to mention its 200 Lbs. heavier, + Rwd, vs Awd. I wonder how close these 2 vehicles would be in a 1/4 mile drag race, @ sea Level, on a properly prepped drag racing surface? I was surprised that the mustang had a shorter stopping distance. I was NOT surprised that the mustang sounded so much better. Great video. P.s. I just seen some drag racing video's showing a 2015 BMW i8, and a 2024 mustang Gt, 5.0 Liter, w/10 speed, ran @ the same Atco dragstrip. The BMW i8's best E.T. was a 12.55 @ 112 Mph, vs the Mustangs 12.15 @ 118 Mph!

    I remember the reviews for the i8 saying the factory tires really let it down. It had Bridgestone ecopias or something. Does that one have better rubber on it? I wonder if the mods for the mini would work on the i8.

      @@richfarfugnuven6308- the reliability is improving every year. Current turbochargers last well over 100,000 miles. There are F150s out there with 200,000+ miles on the turbochargers. My buddy has a dealership and is see the records of some serious high milers!
      If you don’t learn & change with the times you start to sound silly with simple & much less relevant comments. The manufacturers don’t produce stuff expecting it to break down. They would all be out of business so to speak. Even Toyota is switching to turbocharging. They have a huge reputation they need to protect. Unfortunately the Tundras are failing at an abnormal rate for Toyota, but it has nothing to do with the Turbos. Do your oil changes, with the proper specified oils and turbos last very well. If you are not good at maintaining your vehicles, THEN a turbocharged engine may cost you, but that would be the owner’s fault for poor maintenance.
