As always, remember that as always, this is a thematic army core for a potential 30k player. you can swap and change whatever you like, just remember that it's designed so that you can add or take away units as you build up your force in order to have different game styles.

Do you have the name of the music? It's a great addition :) I love the White Scars, more in concept and character (as I'm not a big bike guy). The Khan is the Primarch I'd like to see most return, because I think he fits in well with the Dark Imperium.
He doesn't seek kingship, his critical eye creates good commentary as he was disapproving even in the Crusade, he would be the least surprised Primach as he had a negative view of what the Imperium would become even at its height. He and Guilliman actually would see more eye to eye now that Guilliman had the development of knowing he's a tool and overcoming that stark reality for the sake of humanity. Guilliman and he would be publicly at odds but there could be a great scene where Guilliman says "I always admired you and you were right. I actually hate being this fucking demigod, leading a twisted humanity against so many invincible enemies. I'm just glad to not be so utterly alone".
Their alliance offers potential for a loyalist Lorgar/Angron story, just imagine how everyone wins in a story where the conventional Ultramarines work with the flamboyant White Scars, and they FINALLY get the respect they deserve and aren't seen as barbarians anymore. You could even give it a lot of pathos with another Magnus fight or one with Mortarian, Khan jumps in and either delivers a scathing remark, or openly expresses sorrow with Magnus over what he's become, to his anger and pain as Khan is a neutral party who really could choose to join at any time. Guilliman could save Khan or team up with him and they could end by saying they are true brothers, and you have this small hope where instead of either painful tragedy or infighting, brothers actually made friends and it furthers repairing the damage of making the Ultramarines jackasses in former times.
Jaghatai's made for the "End Times" and offers something unique among "big players". It's the "Dark" Imperium after all, what fits that more than a pragmatic war god Mongolian, who defies orders, stand alone and gives weight to the tragedy of 40K as he's more liked by traitor Primarchs than Loyalists?

Once Book 8 Malevolence comes out will you be going back over the White Scars and Blood Angels? I love the series, you've convinced me to get into Horus Heresy finally, slowly piecing together an army, the only problem being the lack of players in my area.
I may revisit them, the big one will be specialist units, Primarchs and Daemons.
Is anyone else thinking of running sicaran tanks in white scars? they seem perfect for the army. I know there powerful and some are just down right OP, but there fast vehicles, tough chassis, and lots of firepower, while easily 200+ points depending on which variant.
I run a basic sicaran battle tank in my list with lascannons, I've take 13 jets bikes and 10 outriders and a sicaran battle tank in about 2k list, very fast, hits hard but casualities hurt a lot, in the long run jet bikes i find better than outriders point for point, but who doesn't love 20 plasma shot in a single turn with twin link. :D
Is there anywhere that sells weapons to use as the Power Glaives?
Is it possible to make a fluffyish White Scars army without (or with minimal) bikes, using other fast things like transports and jump packs?
Legions most certainly allow it! For example, in the novels, the Terran recruits of the legion fight more like the sons of Horus, with Terminators, and a lot of the more standard legion tactics. You can try that approach and it would be perfectly viable, if maybe a little blander.
The Outer Circle That's nice. I like the style of White Scars but wheeled bikes going up vertical terrain (and just being on a battlefield) kind of bothers me. I suppose I could try some jetbikes, it feels like they would make a bit more sense.
Macca, what are your thoughts on the outrider squads for white scars? How would you run them?
I only run them in the Chogorian Brotherhood Rite of War because they are fantastic there as troops. But, as I've learned the hard way, the vast quantities of AP3 and high strength weapons really makes it hard for the 3 man units to be too viable. I think plasma is NEVER viable on them, and I honestly think that it's better to run them as squads of 5 with twin-linked boltguns and melta bombs as threat units.
Every single unit wasn't a bike. Disliked.

I've already noticed more Scars appropriate bits from several suppliers popping up.
Coming back to this, what do we think of Hussars etc for scars?
Mediocre choice for them when they have other bikes. Plus they aren't in 2.0 leaks so maybe vanished before they appeared.
@@TheOuterCircle lol fair. I just have 15 outrider models and want to find a place for em In my lists. Mournival rules let you run all outriders with power weapons. Been trying that but it’s hit right miss
A few things worth noting.
1. Swift action doesn't work with shooting. Only the movement and assault phases. This has been confirmed by FW. Hopefully it'll change when Scars get their black book.
2. The cyber-hawk only helps Scars infantry so bikes and vehicles don't get the benefit.
3. The wording of Born in the Saddle means that all non-vehicle Scars get the benefit. So their infantry ignore dangerous terrain too.
4. Command squads can't have legion-specific weaponry unless otherwise stated, so they can't get be equipped with power glaives.
Can you do Raven guard next?
Raven Guard will be second last because they're the 19th Legion and Macca is doing the Legions in numeric order starting at 1.

I recon that the Glaive is better than the Legatine Axe. They're both very good, but +1 strength seems better than auto wounds on a 6 to hit.
kizzdougs legatine axe is always ap2 single-handed or not, power glaive ap2 when used double-handed.
Yeah that's true, but the Legatine Axe is more expensive and it's a specialist weapon, so if you want to take advantage of the fact that its only one handed then you'd have to pay for another expensive specialist weapon to get the additional attack.

You know, you could be right... I was looking in my black book, not the red one.
Command squad on jet bikes is not a good idea, to many points for what you get.
It's thematic, not designed to be points efficient... I mean, I said include destroyers with jump packs... but it is also deliberate. A command squad on bikes is a great way to get your points up there for a smaller army without having to buy more miniatures.
See the problem is I hate bikes :S
Would space wolf heads work too.
