£10 million net per year is ridiculous for a manager with no European pedigree. Klopp took Dortmund to Bundesliga titles and Champions League finals and he was originally on 7 million a year. I know times have changed and it is 2024.
If he had won the Europa League with sporting or something he'd have more sway but despite his relatively impressive resume he is not worth £10 million NET per season. That's crazy.
Excellent video Dunk. I think you’re bang on. It does make sense. Remember, silence is golden - noise means something has gone wrong. Exactly what you said about Mbappe to Real Madrid with the to and fro between the Spanish and French press a few months ago. Going public is a negotiation tactic to help force the issue.
What I can’t get my head around is why Amorim would be aloud to fly to London to speak to another club(s) in the midst of a title run with his own club. Has he been given permission to do so or has this been pure speculation?
And the sporting president not wanting him to leave it all makes no sense.
Portuguese newspapers say the Sporting president was aware of this trip and that Amorim had been granted permission
The last time an agent/ family was on Merseyside the weekend before per the club insider and had an offer prepared was Jude. That very next Tuesday Paul Joyce posted we were out of the race.

Hi Dunk , what is Amorim going to say when he gets back to Portugal , coz everyone now know where he has been.
Seems, Amorim has over-reached, maybe being greedy thinking he can hold Liverpool to ransom [who knows]. In this instance I have faith in Edwards and Hughes. I would like to see if West Ham would give him what he wants, this would indicate a lack of ambition? Being a Liverpool Manager is a privilege, you have the earn the right to make demands. Do hope the real truth comes out!

I think you are bang on with all this Dunk....when I heard all of this about West Ham out of the blue yesterday, it sounded to me like Amorim was taking this meeting with WH using it as leverage against LFC. He doesn't know Edwards very well does he, Edwards will not budge and neither he should. Amorim should be honoured to be offered any form of contract for a club like ours. Let's wait and see but if Amorim is at it with money demands, we can all assume it won't be him.
No manager wants to be second best to Edwards.

If we think he's the best man for the job, give him what he wants. He can't be asking for the moon! Hopefully common sense will prevail and we'll get the deal done. I don't want us drifting down the list of candidates and offering the job to Arne Slot or someone equally uninspiring!

Edwards shouldn’t be going this the offer as your coming to Liverpool .. as a manager still sees his value . Fair play if it is true sticking to his guns . As another top job will come up if Edwards isn’t careful
Well explained Dunk! Think this is Amorim's side are playing some games and they will either take it and we have him or he will leave it. I think the agents think they can get more for him but us and it seems West Ham are valuing him a bit lower so a bit of ego stroking going on

I'm not a tax expert by any means, but wouldn't £10m fall under the 50% tax bracket? That would be £15m set salary 🤔Sounds like a lot to me, for a non PL proven manager. Arteta on £3.6m seems like a bargain for Arsenal, it's even more than Ten Hag. Klopp is only just over that at circa £18.5m and he's won almost EVERYTHING.
Less of a gamble for Amorin to go to West Ham ,I’m not surprised that he might not be in the frame . Don’t shoot me down ,but I’ve been saying since day one that Gary O’Neil with Milner as his assistant !
IMO a Formal offer, would be an offer both parties are already happy with, the negotiations would have already being done, I think he has signed, and LFC will keep quiet now til end of the season, or more stories will keep coming out with other manager names being dropped, just to keep Lisbon sweet BUT considering what we are used to FSG could always say "we tried" and later Amorim will say he never spoke to us, and FSG will have never being in for him and it was all talk to stop us being bitterly disappointed with their real targets lol

This is all speculation, I find it difficult to believe that we haven't made a decision yet, it would be pretty amateurish to risk it all falling apart. There is too much at stake, after all, we don't want to sign a reserve player and if it doesn't work, take the 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. that would be irresponsible and dubious.
What a surprise, FSG goin' in low balling. Fair play to Ruben flirtin' about with another club, shows us the fella's got cajones. I can't for one minute think what'll happen with the fan base if our next manager isn't universally wanted or liked. The FSG outers will be incensed. This is turning out to be a thrilling saga. i dont know i have this feeling it's going to be Mourinho, something about that would make sense because of a huge figure like klopp leaving and you need another who the players will respect. But the guys playing style is outdated. I'll give him credit for his winning mentality and not bottling it in finals.
