Lanmater true 1lp duels is first wins and that is not fun to watch mybe if the banlist came out for 1lp duels then it would be fun to watch.
Lanmater disagree 1 life point duel are actually fun to watch for me anyways they have to be so cautious and careful because of burn card reverse burns etc. but this type of duel does seems fun it's a bit more relaxed.
Lanmater 1lp are more interesting because basically there are only a few cards, namely life equalizer, that can make game. It would be fun to play of who damages who the most before decking out
Why not duels with only one of each card, in a 60 card deck? Certain archetypes like Chaos will be stronger, but it forces unexpectancy.

Yami Aichi Me and my friend made a game type like this we based it off the commander type duel in magic
Yami Aichi Mirror match, both play just one copy of every blackwing card. It's hella fun.
I'd say something similar to the Anime/Manga decks, where there are only 1 copy of each card, except for those cards that summon or need more copies (ex: Block Spider would be at 2 in this deck style).
Yami Aichi if you or anyone else wants to duel this way answer this comment so we can make it happen. maybe rather with 40 card decks even tho a deck full of pendulums might be too fast for grindy games.
Alphabet duels? Every card in the deck must begin with the same letter!

Here is an IDEA for you which i used to play a lot with my friends:
1. each player chooses 15 cards
2. these cards then HAVE TO BE USED in the MAIN deck of the opponent
3. then ech player adds cards to his deck until they reach a limit of 40 cards
4.extra deck allowed
=> your Deck: 15 cards choosed by your opponent, 25 cards choosed by yourself.
Like that he sees it !!!

Hows about a no Monster gamemode? The biggest reason I say that is because monsters are the core of the game, as per design, but still not necessary to win, they just do most of the time. All trap/spells can make a duel take a long time, but Exodia is already outlawed, no pendulum, no XYZ, no sync, no SS, no attacks. But tokens and trap monsters would still be adequate. That means you can still have a monster in those zones, and they would have a purpose, but it would actually be a challenge to get a strong one out, meaning that you have to rely on effects to doge a direct attack, but only if your opponent gets one out.

You're right, forgot about the 60 card limit 😞
And that matters why? The reason there is a limit on the number of cards in the deck is because someone went to an even once with a 200+ card deck. Since there was no way to truly randomize that deck they limited the decks to 80 cards and eventually 60.

I remember people saying how 8000 life points for duel is too little for modern Yugioh beng too easy to quickly sweep away that number with new archtypes. But this video shows that no matter how many life points per duel players can have, way to deal massive damage quickly ending games can always be found with large number of obscure, never played but highly effective cards existing there.:p

Duel idea:Thousand Eyes Idol Duel
-Both players can have as many copies of thousand eyes idol as they want
-3000 life points
-No win conditions except loss by life points (no effect win, no deck out)
-Players can only take damage through battle damage.
-The only monster that can inflict battle damage is the thousand eyes idol.
4 grand LP is actually a really different game than Yu-Gi-Oh is today. There's a lot more OTK'ing involved and life points become more of a resource than in the professional game. It's really interesting.
Duel idea:chess Yugioh
-Each player starts out with a token on their side of the field named "the king"
-The king has no attribute and no type
-The king has zero attack and 5000 defense
-The king cannot be destroyed by the effect of a card
-The king starts in defense position and cannot be changed to attack position under any circumstances
-The only way to win the game is to destroy the opponents king.
-The king cannot be destroyed within the first 2 turns of the duel.
The thing i want to see on devpro is (currently) not possible as far as i know:
a tag duell with a high amount of player in each team, so you basically have only one turn to help your team, do some setup...

Ancient Sacred Wyvern is a beast in duels this type. I have tried before in fun plays.
You can play a duell where every player draws 10 (or more) cards in the beginning, but no more during each draw phase
Awesome duel! 1000000 LP is a lot. But there is a way to gain even more and your opponent still has 8000 LP. If you duel against Orichalcos and the opponent summoned Divine Serpent, you can summon Orichalcos Gigas or any monsters that comes back on the field when it's destroyed, then activate Rainbow Life and attack multiple times. I did once, the opponent just quit. The LP were rising over a trillion.
Duel Idea: Forced Variety Duels
-Each players deck must contain at least 10 normal monsters, 10 effect monsters, 10 spell cards (not including pendulums), and 10 trap cards.
-Each players extra deck must contain exactly 5 fusion monsters, 5 synchro monsters, and 5 xyz monsters.

after each players turn, that player must shuffle all the cards in their hand into their deck and then draw the same number of cards that they just put into the deck, as if that player had just activated "reload".
Duel Idea: Every time a player adds card(s) to their hand expect as their normal draw during their draw phase, they must return cards from their hand to their deck equal to the number of cards they they added to their hand. I.E. The only way to increase the number of cards in your hand is to wait for your draw phase.

Need to add more rules:
- No alternate winning condition cards (like Exodia, ...)
- No card that have effect increase atk depend on LP
- No card that make LP become something or half/double.
That way the duel will be focus on defeat opponent in a long run. And hard to OTK. You have to build a strong field and keep it for as long as possible to win. If your field got knock down, try to build it again.
I only agree with the first one. They other two is the reason you have to prepare your deck for the unexpected and if you don't that was your fault for not preparing.

CyberSkullMC I think the point of 1.000.000 LP is to make neither player can OTK. To win you have to build a strong field and have to maintain it.
For example: A Machine deck using "Limiter Removal" is not good because they can't just burst into high ATK just for 1 turn before die and hope for an easy OTK in this kind of duel.
So with those easily 1.000.000 atk monsters people can still OTK for days. And don't tell me about "Magic cylinder" It just make the game become like 1 LP duel when you win or lose just depend on a single effect.

I would normally suggest a max turn limit duel, but that's already like a third of the metagame. Instead, a minimum turn limit duel, you can't/aren't allowed to fulfill a win condition if say, 20 turns haven't passed yet.
Or maybe have it be a forfeit if that happens, I dunno.
Please do a "Highlander" Duel! 100card singleton decks. Every card is limited to one! That should be fun :D
Duel Idea: Slow Start Duel
Both players start the duel with no cards in their hand, instead of the usual five.
I wish there would be real life tournaments for teams too. Just like in starcraft. You play as a team and each win brings you a +1 for you team. That would be awesome, because so you could be playing a 5v5 or 3v3. But I guess there could be some problems like what to do with the side deck if every player would only play once against each other. And if we continue to match duel,wouldn't that take too long ? like 5x 3 duels for a 5v5 f.ex. For Devpro, that would definetely be an option.
Heres a challenge: try a duel where you start with 12000 LP (or another amount) but during each end phase you have to discard like 4 cards or you take huge damage (like 500x the number of undiscarded cards)

You should try and summon the creator of light horakhty which is when summoned and only be summoned by tributing the 3 God cards.
ok Azn, what u do is give each player a vast amount of LP (more than 10k for this example) then you use poison snake syndrome (?) (the spell that reduces the amount of LP players have during each SP by 200, but the value doubles each SP, so 400 then 800 etc..) it effectively turns the game into a do or die run.
Duel idea: slow-ass duel
Each player is only allowed to play one card from their hand per turn.
A 1000000 life point duel is certainly not crazy if you are willing to end it with in a draw. You could use something like "Self Destruct Button".
We used to just play "pick-up duels" where we jus picked up 40 random cards from a pile and dueled with that.

speed duels would be awesome too, like 5 or 10 or 15 seconds for turn so you're forced to actually be fast AF, and maybe like decks with only one or max 2 copies of the same cards, that could ead to some unexepcted combos :D

How about no monsters with effects? this means beatstick xyz, synchros, fusions, and rituals are allowed in addition to normal monsters. obviously pendulums should be b& for this.

You should make a duel where the objective is to reach your own life points to zero, so you would put as much "my body is a shield" and "solemn warning" cards as possible, some cards like winged dragon of ra should be banned tough
Its juss tht alot more archetypes are gonna have alot more set up time.. Considering they can prevent themselves from being blown out by maybe flood gates nd mass destruction. Loved the body as a shield play on raigeki. Alot.more possibilities with tht much more lp...

I actually play endless decay in my zombie deck... early game 4000 atk monster is pretty nice. Of course nothing to lean on... But still... Keep them on edge till i get my plays off. (it doesnt take long to do so)

Well, i cant take credit for this one, but a friend of mine posted a video showing that we can play the game of yugioh but using only one copy of each card. There would be some erratas but this isnt fully done yet. Still would be interesting to see what everyone would do, with only one copy of a card

You start at one life point but the only way to reduce your opponents life points to 0 is if your own life points are 8000 or above

There are 2 different formats on dn that i play with my friends (that are actually possible).
Spirit Duel:
only normal monsters are allowed in the main deck, and only non-effect monsters are alowed in the extra deck. (obviously you can still use spells and traps.)
at the beginning of the duel, both players special summon a level 4 or lower normal monster from their hand or deck (if its in their hand, they can draw 1 more card after summoning it). That monster is their spirit monster.
also at the beginning, both players can set any number of spell/trap cards from their hand (they cannot be activated during that turn if they are quickplay spells or traps, like normal rules.)
at the end of each turn, both players must have their spirit monster on the field. If a player does not have their spirit monster face-up on the field, they lose the duel. If neither player has their spirit monster face-up on the field, the duel is a draw. But, you can still win with other win conditions (0 life points, or deck-out).
during the first turn of the duel, both spirit monsters are unaffected by all card effects.
also, since everyone seems to overlook this, your spirit monster is NOT a spirit-type monster. all effect monsters are banned.

Duel idea: progressive yugioh (inspired by progressive chess)
Each player is only allowed to play cards from their hand up to the number of turns that have passed + 1.
I.E. On the first turn the turn player can only play one card from their hand, on the second turn the turn player can only play two cards from their hand, ect.
