First aid should be compulsory in schools. Every parent should have the knowledge and skills required to save their kid in situations like this.
Exactly don't know why it isn't mandatory every school worldwide in PE and Science class
I'm an adoptive mom and had to take infant CPR and first aid to get approved to adopt. Seemed like a good idea. It was comforting to me knowing I had those skills.
I think they do have it, atleast they did at my middle school back in 2013
My school had CPR classes and they taught us how to handle infants in a variety of situations. When my daughter was born 9 years ago I was ready for anything. My son was just born 4 days ago and all my instincts are as sharp as ever.
It was talk in health and education classes. Both adults and infants.
I watched this video a couple years ago and I was relieved when I heard the baby cry.
Now I am a dad of a 4 months boy, and just the image of this baby choking made my chest burst and my stomach ache of the anxiety. They are so helpless and dependant on you, not being able to help your baby must feel so excrutiating.
I'm gonna watch some CPR videos to refresh my memory.
I just gotta imagine that I'm having a baby and this video gave me troubles to breath. Can't imagine what this woman was going through
These videos hit much different when you are a parent.
I'm a single Father of 2 little girls. They're 9 and 7, so not completely helpless as a 2mo old.. but it's still scary to see this. That cop did an awesome job!

I can’t believe how calm the grandmother & mom were. I would have lost my mind!
during the years with my children I noticed that in case of emergencies, I'm very calm and almost like... hyperfocused... I then break down when everyone is safe. It wouldn't help anyone if I was panicking and screaming and whatever instead of solving the problem and if possible ensuring my children everything is going to be ok.
(Another thing, though, is that the grandmother? didn't seem to be solving anything.)
I was thinking the same thing, but in the end the mom came and clearly she was inside the house crying. At first I thought the grandma was the mom and was almost suspicious of how calm she was lol
You can hear her crying in the background.
She was losing her marbles, but she knew if she panicked it wouldn't help the officer. She was pacing back and forth checking on the mother and even wanted to intervene with the officer. Her level of patience is Impeccable.
When my 3rd was 9m old, his bowel prolapsed twice and he had intussusception. I couldn't even give the dispatcher our address because I thought at any second all of his organs were going to fall out. I was a mess. To not even be able to give them the address was whoa. My ex who would run around like a chicken with his head cut off over every little bump the kids got whilst I remained calm the entire time, he actually took control of this situation. He is a POS but that's one thing I'll ALWAYS praise him for. He freaked out later, whereas once my son and I were in the ambulance, I had started to regain some level of functionality.
I love the old school grandma here, she has control and authority over her young family, while showing respect and being backed up by her own elder.❤❤❤
Old school grandma? Nothing she did was old school. Babies dont choke off milk with old school grandmas
She literally was just patting lightly on the back in upright position not even enough to burp it, and calling her name. What exactly was she in control and authority of and what does that have to do with it. Learn CPR.

Yeas TELL them!
@Randy Marsh The one that murdered George Floyd.
As a father I am completely greatful for this man. A parents nightmare...please learn how to dislodge the airway if you are a parent. A true hero!
Yeah that is true, sometimes you just cant get them to cough it up. If someones choking you call an ambulance ,straight away, you dont waste a second if they come through you just cancel. Compressions work to dislodge a foreign object as well as patting the back. Trying to get the person to throw up is good too, because that also helps to dislodge it, you tell them to relax and keep coughing
Axiom Ape gacts!!!
@Caramel Delight If the grandma did a finger sweep then that's wrong. That means she did a blind sweep. The cop was more correct because he said he didn't see any obstruction; he didn't try to do any blind sweep. ONLY remove the "Object" if you see it! Blind sweep can make things worse.
I panic when people choke useless...so I dont watch kids unless otherwise with me..just horrible at dealing with it. I want to take classes maybe that will remove my fear.

A couple of years ago my baby girl stopped breathing while I was giving her the bottle. She was 4 days old, later we found out she had a cold (could be fatal for little babies). I rushed my wife to call 112 (Europe's 911) and started doing on her the exercises this police officer did here. A lot of help arrived in few minutes (Police, EMT, Firefighters) and, after 11 days in the hospital, she had full recovery. I had seen this video few days before, in of those cops (reality) tv shows. It is very possible that it helped saving my baby girl's life. I had to look it up on youtube and leave this message. I'm so grateful.
I would have lost it. I am so happy Grandma was calm, that would set me off emotionally and I love the officer's determination. Awesome Job !
Either you go numb because it's surreal and the emotions come later or you freak out. Infrequently is there an in between and you don't know until you're in it which it will be.
I'm an ambulance technician and the first time I walked into a similar situation, I was scared out of my mind. My hands were shaky, adrenaline through the roof. Later, my crew mate( senior paramedic assured me that I did a good job and that my feelings were completely normal and usual for someone being in that situation for the first time).
This just goes to show how amazing this police officer is for remaining so calm and effective. God bless him.
I can only imagine. Just watching that cop do CPR on an infant I have no connection with, in a place I've never been too, on body-cam footage from 3ish years ago, and was from the cops perspective triggered my stress response.
Knowing how to do the Heimlich and CPR on an infant and being able to stay calm enough act in the moment are two VERY different things. That level of calm is from more than an adrenaline rush. I don't know how you do it, but I'm beyond thankful you do 😇😇🙏🙏🌻🌻

My son always asks me how I stay so calm around all the chaos of life and I tell him as a first responder you are trained to be calm in the craziness or nothing would ever get done right.
Pure example of that, his training kicked in and he got her back…another point for our boys in blue!!😇
Yup! I’m an RN but used to volunteer with my local ambulance for 6 years and staying calm amongst all the chaos is part of the job and how you give the best care. Loved ones feed off of our energy in a time of crisis and when they let us do our job and see our calmness (even though we may be freaking out on the inside) they tend to also calm down and let us do our job.
probably also easier to remain calm when you're not attached to the person or animal in distress.

THIS is what people need to see our officer's doing. Being compassionate, caring and truly devoted to saving a life. A wonderful example of the Boys in Blue doing their job.
Mark Amos, I do agree wholeheartedly, but we need to see the bad ones just as much as we do the good ones. Yes, there are bad cops, and they should absolutely be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Yet, there are some who are really out there to do their jobs and take pride in saving lives. I can respect the police while also holding them to a higher standard. This officer did a great job.
This is what the cops' jobs should be. They are overtasked with antiterrorism and gang related crimes. There also needs to be actual penalty for retaliation of any cop speaking up against corrupt cops.

Edit...thank you so much for the likes. I’m shocked that I got so many and very appreciative. Wow.
Truly at first i judged her thinking she just didnt care or had a attitude but after reading this I see what you mean, she was a mature grandmother mainly trying to be strong for her daughter which was obviously upset.
Totally agree about your comment!!!! Everybody do right there!!! The cop is my hero forever God bless him every second in his life 🙏🍀🙏
@@kerplunk10788 she probably just didn't want the officer to fear for his life and shoot her.
Yeah but she's not even crying a little. That's too young for her to be that calm. She can't talk
Ryan thank you 🙌🏻someone who understands ahaha
I think some people just dedicate their lives to disliking every video on CZcams
I heard that😒
Truly😂😂😂
A O I couldn’t have said that better myself 👏👏👏‼️‼️‼️
Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people?
Then again, dislikes and likes don't even matter on CZcams nowadays.
Brings a tear to your eye. God bless these people
Thank you to the officer who saved that baby's life. 💜 May God always keep you protected with the same love & compassion. 🙏
God made that baby choke, knew it was going to happen, and stood by as a cop saved her life. God is a sick fuck.
I admire the grandmother's calmness... I would have lost it, thank God for the officer
I don't recall god doing cpr here. Why are you thanking god.
@@fitnesspoint2006 because many times calling 911 in an emergency no one shows up for 20+ minutes
So thank God the officer knew CPR for infants and was quick to respond to the call
@mike rockfort possibly mixed if you watched til the end the mom comes over and they tell her to get in the ambulance also
@mike rockfort Obviously the baby is Mixed! It's her daughters kid. I have ppl in my LG fam who can pass for White too. But they aren't...
I knew that couldn't be the mom, she was way too calm. Thank goodness Grandma was keeping strong for her family.
As a father of a 3.5 year old girl, this is really hard to watch. Once you have a child, they become the most important thing in your life.
Yeah bro, I have a 4 year old girl and this had me tearing up. Amazing job by the first responders. What a happy ending!

@USUAL SUSPECT I'm not the one that said that quote. I thought it was funny because the guy cared more about hoarding then his kid.
Agreed. 5 month old here. 3rd time watchin this since it came out a while back.
God bless this officer and this beautiful baby 🙏🏻❤️

respect for the grandmother for keeping calm, she must have been freaking out inside.
@Eric Cartman whut...
I was very impressed with the grandmother in this situation. People that save lives have to keep calm to be able to be of most help.
@TednKev 239 Disconnected, dude she was freaking out inside, but tried to keep it calm, you can see she is unsure if letting the officer have a try is the right choice, But she is forced to go with it and let him try.
@Eric Cartman
To be honest she does not show any concern or panic...perhaps she cannot show any emotions...
I would of lost my shit 😭
Now that's a true hero

life is hard, but seeing this wonderful life-saving story is soooo touching, thanks for lighten up my day.
Grandma remained calm while dying inside. Glad baby is Ok. She was smiling at the end because she could finally breathe.
Exactly what I thought! She kept her cool and reminded calm, but you know inside she was terrified.
It's important to keep her cool. That probably helped the situation out so much.
She was calm but you could tell she wanted to help so bad but stayed back, Her body language showed how worried she was
mariama barry WOW 😂
That baby looks white. Maybe daddy is white.
The poor mother was freaking out so bad, that the grandmother had to take control of the situation and keep calm. Thank God for that cop though

Cops DO NOT SERVE AND PROTECT.
They're like MOBSTERS. Soldiers that go out and find way to steal people's money through traffic "violations", marijuana and booze and they fabricate, lie to push agendas and lock people up.
Cops lie, cheat, steal, do drugs and all types of shit. And they're never given consequences so they don't know accountability.
People like this, cannot go home and love a family. They can't treat a wife or husband right, and they can't bring their children up with ethics and morals because they do not have them.
You might be a good cop, but over the years you do more harm then good.
But I dong expect you guys to understand. You have a blinding emotional attachments to America and good ole american bullshit.
Cops do not serve and protect the citizens...
Doctors do not cure illness and give the best health advice...
Teachers don't teach kids how to think and learn for themselves...
Shit goes on and on. And you're so in love with image and how you're perceived by other people, that you completely forget how to live.
No family values, respect or self respect, morals, code of ethics.
Just likes and comments and "yes men" all around you.
Good ole American bullshit...
Celebrate thanksgiving when the natives were slaughtered, captured and enslaved.
Celebrate Christmas when people don't even believe in Christ or those principles that Xmas is supposedly about. You worship gifts and shiny shit.
Good ole American bullshit.
Gang vs gang..
White vs black
Gay vs straight
Rep vs dem
Fem vs minsogynst
Christian vs Muslim
Light skin Black's vs dark blacks
Mexicans vs Puerto Ricans
Goes on and on and on and you embrace the hate and bullshit.
that was "grandma"

This is the kind of officers that we should glorify. It is these people, ordinary people that put their life on the line each day to help others buy another day to live. Absolutely grateful to good police officers, they make me feel safe.

Thank God for this officer!!! He literally saved this baby’s life!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🥰🥰
Thank you Officer :) CPR should be known by everyone and taught in schools
The only people who would dislike this video are people who do not want' to let go of their hate.

Realy? I saw on the YT chanels The Dodo and Julia Modas ppl commenting that they like pets more then human babys...
I disliked the video myself, Only because of how little the woman cared or even did anything. No questions no nothing not even emotions. I am glad about the officer tho.
God bless you officer

The officer is an unsung hero for sure.we must all remember there are good cops still out there.that do the job they swore an oath to uphold.PROTECT AND SERVE.👍👍
What do you mean there are still good cops out there? The vast majority are good cops, they are not a dying breed.

Haha I liked the way you worded your response :)
Stephen Merck true indeed
Stephen Merck grade a bullshit he only helped cuz it was a baby
Props to grandma for keeping calm in situations like this the calmer the better
She was impressive. You could tell she was trying to hold it together for everyone else. The officer was amazing because it's always 100 times more intense when a child is involved...especially a baby that tiny.
Yes, especially when she sent mom away to look for ambulance. I think that was more to keep her calm too. Great job g-ma and officer.

I feel so bad for that mum I can't imagine how terrifying it is. My son is two and I still panic when he swallow food the wrong way and starts coughing which is VERY rare
I always panicking too
My daughter when she was 11 days and 18 days old stopped breathing and had ambulances out was hospitalised, they found out she had sleep apnea and a heart murmur and needed to have a machine on her to alarm each time she stopped breathing till she was about 7 months old it was the scariest time of my life
Verdade.
I know, you can see her pacing and the way she wanted to take her back so quick omg.. terrifying.
@Kitty Kelly I know it’s crazy but thank the lord that something told me to check her those times she stopped breathing otherwise she wouldn’t be here today
I'm a retired 32 year Veteran Law Enforcement Officer from Canada and I'll never forget doing CPR on 3 young children ages 2, 3 & 4 before the paramedics arrived on scene. All 3 survived as a result. We didn't have cell phones back in the 80's.
