I don't even want to talk about the insanely harsh lighting ok so many things went wrong GET OFF MY BACK
You look gorgeous in any lighting 🥰
Girl we are just happy to be here
Never have I ever noticed lighting in a video. Unless it's pitch black, you're good!
You have to do the "Jem" movie!!!
I got all protective! Don't say Jamie's in harsh lighting,....then it was you🙃 Kitty cat was straight tripping in the commercial.
Fun fact: Every time the girls were playing their instruments, they were playing live. They were taught to play their songs so they looked legit and it pays off.
Oh wow! That is legit.
That's pretty cool!
They did all learn to play their instruments, but that isn't the same as "playing live." None of the music we hear is played by them. The band Letters to Cleo recorded all the songs.
@@amityislandchumno shit. almost none of the sound is voiced live most of it is voiced over. the point was that it looks as real as possible
@@amityislandchumthey actually did provide backing vocals for the music in the movie!
I proudly sport a “Dujour means seatbelts” bumper sticker and won’t stop.
WHAT! I love this and need to find it! Well done
I need this lmao
Oh my god
They have some on Etsy ! I might just have to buy one 🤔 haha ✨
That is amazing 😂😂😂
I just love Allan Cummings, he is just up for any bad movie, and he kicks ass. 😂
Alan Cumming*
He commits to the bits, and ya gotta love that.
Literally same he is ICONIC
He ruled in “Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical”
Yes I love him in Reefer Madness. So awesome!
I loved this movie growing up because it was so cute and the girls were pretty and cool, duh. but I decided to rewatch it as an adult about two years ago because i couldn’t stop thinking about it. and BOY, is it criminally underrated. It’s ridiculous and over the top and campy and absurd and AMAZING. it manages to spoof and expose our ridiculous consumerist culture while also still somehow being completely wholesome and sweet ? genius. Ive made all my friends watch it now and each one who’s watched it is surprised by how much they like it 😊❤️
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I thought it was really clever too. I really hated pop culture in an angsty way and I thought it was hilarious, like when they kidnap the goth girl to brainwash her it's just really funny social commentary and i remember being all dark like if only people were brainwashed into liking crap music...haha. I don't hate it anymore but yeah
I’m sorry but this movie is a brilliant classic and will always be one of my favorites. Excited to watch it get roasted still 🤣
I was legit offended when I first saw the thumbnail lol.
Also I love you, human. K thx.
A thousand percent this
Ahead of it's time.
I love it to pieces and am SO excited for this video!
Hate watched this movie .... God damn why am I still watching to this day
I worked at Claire’s in high school when this movie came out. Our whole store was stocked with Josie and the Pussycat merch. We had to mark it down to clearance shortly thereafter because it wasn’t selling. It ended up on the “10 for $10” faster than you could say “that’s jerking.” 😂
Sincerely,
Completely Non-beige Rebecca
Omg this comment is hilarious but also makes me feel so bad for the film-makers 😂
Life imitates art
I want some Josie & the Pussycats merch! I’m late to the party lol.
I LIVED for the 10 for $10 😩
@@MurdaMeg yes! You could find the best stuff or weirdest stuff.
Jamie always makes sponsoring fun! Sponsors: give all your money to Jamie. She makes people actually want to watch the sponsor part. I know I do
I honestly rewatched her add like three time because I thought it was funny/entertaining- I’ve never done that with any other CZcamsr
Was just coming to say this!!!
YES! She doesn't waste a chance to shine 😎
Can we get more small, short videos of you talking to the bird? They are HILARIOUS! I know African Greys are like the smartest, but how many words does yours say? She seems to have a HUGE vocabulary. I'm kind of jealous over here 🤣🤣🤣
I'm watching all this time later and I was just thinking the same thing, I love her talking to her bird. I was wondering if she really says all that stuff, I don't know anything about birds so I have no idea if they really have conversations like that.
This☝️🙌👏
I think Jamie spent a lot of time editing. Her genius is in her editing. It probably took a couple of months to whittle down all of that footage to make it look like the bird was saying what she wanted it to say.
When I was a tween I thought this was the greatest movie ever made, and you know what? I STILL DO. It has great casting, fun clothes, a conspiracy plotline, it's goofy, it's witty, and the soundtrack slaps. Fight me!
I 100% agree
I will stand and fight with you. Dujour means friendship!
Same. I ADORE this movie and will forever.
completely agree. i can't believe how many people say it's garbage. also i don't remember this movie being such a flop..? idk all the kids i knew loved it
Yes yes yes!!!!
Oh my GOD I would love to see a "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" review. I never saw it as a bad movie, I always loved it. But I haven't seen it in like 15+ years...(I'm old) Anyway, great review Jaimie. You're my favorite!
Yoooooo I LOVE ROMY AND MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION AND STILL QUOTE IT TO THIS DAY!!!! (If anyone needs to make a call I've got a phone).
It’s also intentionally satirical
Did you see them at the SAG awards!? Epic
Yes Jaimie plz do the “Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion”..I haven’t seen the movie in years & ik u will make it hilarious if u review it!! 👏🏻🥰🥰
No, it’s still good because it was satire hahaha
I dyed my hair red and tried so hard to style it like Rachel Leigh Cook's in this movie but hers just defied gravity in ways I couldn't replicate 😅 I was obsessed though.
Also yes, those rhinestone body sticker things were absolutely a thing in the early '00s! I remember having the flower ones, but also smaller ones that you were supposed to put on your face, collarbone, etc.
The '00s were a weird time.
I had my hair exactly like hers in the early 2000's! Except instead of red, I had the tips blue. I absolutely loved it!
@@sundaymourning5329 oh man you were living my dream! I bet it looked so rad with the blue tips
I WANTED HER HAIR SO BAD TOO LOL
Also the sticker things are kinda starting to come back for raves and stuff. I dig it. I put rhinestones on my face and collarbone for a unicorn Halloween costume hehe
I did this too… and I still have red hair 😅
16:50 Fun fact! The reason why their playing looks so good is because they’re actually playing! They played and recorded all of the Josie songs!
They did actually learn to play the instruments, and did provide backing vocals for the music in the movie, but the main tracks are recorded by a band named Letters To Cleo. The lead singer of that band, Kay Hanely, provided the main vocals for Josie McCoy
I freaking love how easily your bird has settled into her new role as a media influencer. She really takes after her mom.
I loved this movie and it perfectly captured what a wild fever dream the 2000’s were
Agree I think Jaime doesn’t get it
It's a pretty obvious satire.
She's so right, this is exactly the same flavor of comedy and cheese that made Spice World so amazing. I love both of these movies, cuz when you get it You Get It. Anyone who disagrees is just taking themselves too seriously
I love Romy & Michele's HS Reunion, so yes absolutely two hands raised for that one!
I totally loved this movie when I was a kid. The looks and hair were awesome, the songs were cute and the cast was pretty a-list for the time... If nobody else got it, I did... I remember watching it with my dad only once cuz he wanted to see what I was into and at the end, credits rolling, he looked at me and said "do you understand the point of this movie? (*Dramatic pause*) To always think for yourself, no matter what people try to make you believe"...I don't have many prominent warm memories of fatherly advice, but I'll never forget that moment...
🥺 thats so sweet. I loved this movie growing up too. can’t believe so many people roast it still. I think it was just wayyy ahead of its time haha
That’s really beautiful. I agree with the other comment here that the movie was ahead of its time and I love it more now then back then
Agreed! I love this movie 🍿
Based
I was obsessed with this movie at 10 years old, its cringeyness is a part of the nostalgia ❤️
Yes exactly it was ridiculously stupid then but that's part of its charm.
Yeah I remember my friends, sisters and I loved it when we were lil. And I don’t remember how but we had the CD soundtrack of this movie with all of the Josie and the pussycats songs! 😆
I was Josie for Halloween in 5th grade. None of my classmates got it.
@@gracetaylor7051 well if you think about it, then you actually were truly "Josie" because most everyone didn't get the movie either!!
That'snext level sister!😁
I was too! I've actually been wanting to watch it
ok yes, yes to everything, BUT - can i just say that the Hello Fresh part with the PARROT is everythingggggg - that bird is beyond precious
Kay Hanley, singer for Letters to Cleo, as the singing voice of Josie. Her voice alone is "Golden" and all original. It was a head of its time! Awesome
Also Pretend to be Nice was cowritten by Adam Schlesinger, better known for Stacy's Mom :D I love this stupid ridiculous movie (and Letters to Cleo), it is a time capsule
@@stellasadbrains6898 May he rest in peace 😢. I had no idea how prolific he was as a songwriter until I read an article after he died 😞
Zenon: Girl of the 21st century might be fun, I would love to see you break down Orange County as well, your movie reviews are my favorite! Your adds are BRILLIANT as well!
OMG I haven't thought about Orange County in years! I would love for her to do that movie!
I second the Zenon suggestion
Yes! A lot of the early 2000s disney channel tv movies would be a great choice!
Zenon is classic. I loved it as a kid, and I watch K. Storms every day on General Hospital! I love her. Would love a video on the film trio
Yes I loved Zenon!
Back then I literally took the booklet to the CD to the hair salon so that I could show them Josie and get that haircut. And I looked damn good! I actually still listen to the soundtrack on occasion. The singing for Josie was done by Kay Hanley from Letters to Cleo (most people know them as the band in 10 things I Hate About You) and I love, love, love her.
That's awesome!!!
Aaah thank you for sharing because I LOVED that band from 10 things!!!! Brb gonna go see if they are on spotify 😍
Did the same thing - my freshman year hair was 100% Josie, but blonde!
For some reason I always thought Josie sounded like her lol now it makes sense. Never knew they were the same so that's cool to know!
I love how you included “Hoover It” when Rachel Leigh Cook was getting stuff shoved in her mouth- excellent She’s All That reference. 😂
The fact that Rosario spent most of her early 00’s being a sexy cat is hysterical. This movie and in RENT she works at the CatScratch as a stripper 😂🤣
Man, I feel so highbrow that I actually got the overarching joke of this film when I was in high school! I didn’t realize how many people didn’t get it! But also, I though they were in their early 20s, hence the lack of parents. 🤷♀️
I wonder if that was another joke that they were actually playing their own age and not teenagers for once.
That's what I figured too. It makes sense why they be living on ramen if they they don't live with their parents anymore.
Right. I thought all of that was obvious lol.
Re: the body patches, there was a little trend for "appliques" alongside temporary tattoos in gold or glitter, you could get different shapes but mostly they were flowers and butterflies, they also sold loose rhinestones you could put where you wanted or they came prearranged on a clear adhesive thing.
Karen in mean girls puts a (backwards) K on herself with these. If you specifically look up pictures of Scarlett Johansson at the premiere of Eight Legged Freaks in 2002, she's wearing one shaped like a spider.
I had the flower stick on ones from Tammy Girl!
I loved those things. Especially the ones that went around your belly button 🤦♀️
Yeah, like the silver streak Mariah Carey wore in the movie Glitter.
Parker Posey is amaze-balls! I really remember her from Daze and Confused where she was a freaking EVIL senior just a torturin' those poor freshman girls
I never noticed her before but I'm starting to become obsessed with her now, a lot of movies I've never seen with her in them are great!!
The first movie I ever saw Parker Posey in was House of Yes. Her characters have always been dark and crazy in mind since then.
The fact that dujour is wearing what they crashed in, including the flames painted on the cast, is one of my favorite things ever.
I just recently rewatched this and I dont care how bad you are going to roast it I will still love it! I even did my hair like Josie when I was a teenager and still remembered all the lyrics to the songs. Ill always be a punk rock prom queen 😂😂 Now off to watch you ruin my childhood 💜 bahaha
Same!!! Also you just taught me that the lyrics are NOT "prom prom prom queen"
Same
Yes I love love love this movie.
Agree!
Still love this movie!
The add-ins KILLED me 😂😂 pinky, the magnetic lady, the merch, the HF ad, the 360 McTwisty! We just got 5 videos in one
I died at alll of these too!! 😂👏🏼 She gives so much. Such a giver, we are not worthy
I don’t care what anyone says, this will always be one of my favorite movies! And the whole soundtrack is a bop.
Two arms held high for a Romy and Michelle review! I love that movie but it would be great to see you review it!! 😊
This movie is so nostalgic for me. As a 12 year old I got the jokes and understood that it was a satire. I even bought the soundtrack 🤣 Glad you reviewed it! It brought me back to the good ole days 😆💜
I loved the soundtrack and still have it!
I also loved this movie but I love roasting she does 😂
One of the best soundtracks of all time! I still love it!
Yes to Romy and Michele!!!
Also, The cheetah print on the cover just reminded me of the movie Cheetah girls. My younger sister use to watch that on repeat!
Also also, M is your best subscriber, everyone loves her and she’s basically your best friend .
Josie and the Pussycats is such an underrated classic and still one of my favourite movies! I sooo badly wanted Josie’s hair as a teen haha. And the soundtrack is *chef’s kiss*; a bunch of it was written/produced by the same guy who wrote Stacy’s Mom amongst an absolute hoard of other incredible and also very underrated songs, Adam Schlesinger (RIP 💔)
I really love how the people who love this movie just REALLY love it❤❤
I love the soundtrack and Fountains of Wayne is my favorite band. I had no clue that Adam wrote any of the songs.
@@ross9944 It’ll make the movie that much more enjoyable now you know lol.
FOW are one of my favourites too - they’re chronically underrated so it’s always exciting finding fellow fans! If you haven’t already, definitely recommend the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend - it’s a great show as it stands but Adam co-wrote all the music for that too, of which there’s a lot :)
@@ellecimz6618 bahaha yesss, us fans have got to give it extra love to compensate for how far under the radar it’s flown all these years 😄
@@jessicahaha9 wish i could double lobe this🖤😭🖤
My older cousin was obsessed with Josie's hairstyle and she cut and dyed it like her for years 😂
I don't know why, but my favorite line from this movie is when Josie first hears the Movie Phone guy and Missi Pyle asks how she got him to record the subliminal messaging and then gasps and says, "You slept with him!" The way she says it just cracks me up!
Dude yess. All of her lines were just amazing i always loved her in this 👏🏼
Lmao same here! The delivery is everything.
no fr this movie is so quotable. my cousins and I were obsessed with it and we were constantly speaking in lines from the movie lmao omg
It’s always nice when Parker Posey gets the hype that Parker Posey deserves
Yes I love her.
She’s absolutely amazing in lost in space!
She was AMAZING in Scream 3!
She was insane as a shot girl in New Girl. Her manic energy gets me every time. xD
@@Alexardelean89 The House of Yes was her finest moment.
I love your bird. I get excited when she's included, especially in the ads.
I loved the ad with her bird, so cute
This movie is hilarious to me and really nails the 2001 aesthetic 😂
I still laugh at how they were making fun of N'sync & BSB combined :P I was a major N'sync fangirl back then lmfao.
Ember's so adorable!! Her little "go, go, go" part was my favorite. What a great little cheerleader! And then the clip where she's dragging off a cooked noodle. My heart is full.
This movie was also an incredible commentary of the times in pop music itself. A lot of superstars randomly died via plane crashes at the time. The producer didn't need to hear the girls sing because auto-tune made sure they'd sing well. We also discovered all of the subliminal messages in Disney VCR tapes. When I saw it, I really enjoyed for those points. Thanks for reviewing this movie, I really enjoy your take on the bad movies that I've loved watching too.
As a Becky who likes the color beige, and pumpkin spice all year round… I have NEVER been so HAPPY to be called out by Jaime and yet feels weird to be noticed. I know I’m basic, I don’t need a reminder!!! 😂😭Also I NEED THIS MERCH!!!! It is me and I am it lol. 😂😆
Own it :D
wait a second, is Rachael Leigh Cook the first actress to be featured on the fall list compilation twice?? I can't think of another one. she deserves an award or something!
Hilary Duff got there first! But I think those are the only two...
She IS really good at falling lol
She fell down the stairs in, “She’s All That.”
Ember being kitchen boss… 😂
“It’s mean. I want beans.” Hilarious. She’s the best Hello Fresh spokesbird, wings down.
I love that bright lippie on you! In the last two weeks, I’ve purchased three like that; one hot red, one hot pink, and one hot coral. I LOOOOVE. If I could wear beige, I’d buy your hoodie, but my colorless Casper self looks like a bleached old foreskin in beige. 😂😂
*a bleached old foreskin* 💀
I'm dying 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Bleached old foreskin 😱👀🤣
It is a hardship. 😅
I LOVED this movie as a preteen. I even limewired the songs. This is the first time you’ve reviewed a movie I liked and I feel personally attacked 😂
omg limewire. core memory unlocked
+1 vote for Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion review! 😍
Actually make that +4 votes. My 3 cats would also like to cast their votes.
“im here because i was in the comic books” and “McDonald’s shower” were two highlights of this video 😭😭 had me absolutely speechless
Also: yes please to Romy & Michele! Alan C gets his come-uppance in that one... >.
Omg YES!!!
Stahp I loved this movie !!!!! Lol the part he's laughing and she throws the m&m in his throat I still to this day re enact that scene 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭 me and a couple friends did the Josie and the pussycats song for the talent show. Ope you showed that scene lmmfaoooo and I laughed just as hard
I love when Jamie puts herself into the movie. It’s always so funny. 😂 Jamie you have the best sense of humor.
My friend loved this movie so much she named her daughter Josie.
Please do Romy & Michelle, it's one of my all-time favorites!
Yes!!
Agreed! I just watched it again like 2 weeks ago, what a classic 😂
I'm not gonna lie..... Im STOKED you brought back MAKEUP and movies, they are ze best! This style of production is my favorite! Side note, I never even saw this movie, but I was absolutely one of those chicks in HS who cut her hair just like Josie with the flip lol
Yeah I wonder if this was filmed a while ago and just now coming out? Honestly, I don't mind either way - I can't get enough of the movie reviews!
@@lomoliving5528 This movie came out 21 years ago and my 10 year old self is feeling all the nostalgia lol
We are currently watching the gloriously unknown film “The Cat From Outer Space,” if this one doesn’t warrant a review, I don’t know what does 🤣
Yesssss! It is a Disney Hidden Gem.
Idc I will never dislike this movie. This was HILARIOUS!!! my sister and I made my dad watch it and we just laughed our asses off 😂😂😂 “lisping Lisa” also..there’s no parents cause they’re adults…
The intro scene is a dig at BSB’s music video to “I want it that way”!
This movie made me start playing the guitar. I learned to play all the songs from the movie and I still listen to them to this day! It is also the reason I cut my hair and dyed it red back then. 😎 Love it.
your grey is just too cute! I've worked with several, and I've never seen a pet with as large a vocabulary as yours. I know they are one of the best mimics but the ones I've known have had maybe 5-10 phrases they say and that's about it. So kudos to keeping him learning, keeps their mind fresh. I've got conures myself but have never been able to teach them more than what they already knew before coming to me.
I loved this movie when I was a child I even asked my sister’s aunt who is a hairstylist to cut my hair like Josie lmaooo and it turned out soooo bad 🤣🤮
Also, never ever thought I’d be buying a CZcamsr’s “merch” but damn it Jaime, I’ve gotta support you and meester Nick. Can’t wait to be a boring beige Becky. Maybe I’ll make a tiny face challenge video while wearing it 😎
If you do a tiny face, be sure to give credit to literally everyone in the world or else the 177th person that did will get upset. 😒
@@twiggystardust9573 😂😂 right!?
The She’s All That “hoover it” callback at 8:05 is everything
I was going to comment this, but finding a kindred spirit already did is all I needed 😎
Haha YES! I caught that and cracked up. I truly say “hoover it” way too much in my everyday life
The maniacal laughter at the end😂🤣
This movie is deeply ingrained in my family’s lore
Ok. Confession time.
My twin sister and I were obsessed with this movie, when it came out. We were about 11 years old, and we pulled out my mom's camcorder, and recorded a video of me, playing guitar, while my sister danced around, lip syncing to one of the songs (I can't remember which) But, I have no clue what happened to that footage, and hopefully it'll never resurface 🤣😬
I was about 11 when this came out also. I unfortunately didn’t have a sister to share an amazing jam sesh and music video making moment with, but you better bet I was making my mom record me pretty much remake this whole movie with just me, we recently found the footage and actually still have a VHS player so I went down memory lane. It’s probably the most cringey thing I have ever watched in my life but loved every minute of it! ❤️🤣
Me reading the title …
“And I took offense to that “ 🤣
same lol
Same same
Omfgggg, thanks for this bc this legitimately was one of my FAVORITE movies ever as a kid! I had it on DVD and I would watch it BACK TO BACK TO BACKKKKKK ON REPLAY!!! I didn’t think anybody else knew about it bc every time I’d try to bring it up I was met with confusion. 😭 I loved how lowkey meta it was and the soundtrack was BANGERRRR!
I really loved Melody. The scene where Josie tells her that puppies grow up to be dogs and then die is my favorite. 😂
I forgot how fun this movie was. It’s like a time capsule of the early 2000’s. Racheal Leigh Cook had some great forgotten gems. Carpool is another one of my favorites from her.
I’m pregnant right now with my first child, a girl, and her name is going to be Josephine because of this movie. I was OBSESSED with it when it came out haha. 😂
“I'm running a laaaaabel here, Josephine.”

I ADORE the name Josephine - I really wanted to name my second daughter Josephine and nickname her Josie - my great aunt had the sAme name - love it!! And congratulations!!!!

I was 10 years old when this movie came out and it was one of my favorites. And I have to say, even I got the satirical joke back then 😅
I was obsessed with this movie and the stuff it’s got in it back in the day.
My sister and I are named after the animated characters so I was excited when a live action film was announced. To this day my favorite part is Seth Green being in a boy band. My name shame lives on.
That's awesome!
Melody is my favorite!
I love the soundtrack. Letters To Cleo is a good band. They’re also at the end of 10 Things I Hate About You. Anywho, this is such a good movie. A little too ahead of its time, I think.
Letters to Cleo were also in the movie as Kat's favorite band, The Raincoats!
Holy crap it was Letters To Cleo?! I had no idea! I had to google the band when I watched Parks and Rec, they're Ben's favorite! 😂 I need to check this band out now (don't judge me, music has never been my strong suit. I do, however, still know all the lyrics to "You Don't See Me")
Well, it’s at least the singer for letters to Cleo. Not sure if it’s the whole band for this soundtrack.
@@lindseystein9676 yes, I looked that up after... I'm still astonished I didn't recognize her voice. I've seen Parks and Rec at least a dozen times, and Josie and the Pussycats even more. I suppose the fact that it was just the lead singer attached to it, I wouldn't have recognized her name, and they wouldn't have mentioned the whole band in regards to the movie. It's like worlds colliding.
@@lindseystein9676 from Google:
Letters to Cleo appeared in the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate about You as a favorite band of the character portrayed by Julia Stiles. They contributed four songs to the soundtrack for the film, which included a Cheap Trick cover ("I Want You to Want Me"), and a Nick Lowe & Ian Gomm cover ("Cruel to Be Kind"). 😁😁😁 it's been one of my favorite movies since I was 13 so I get excited to share haha
ETA I'm not saying you don't believe me, but for anyone else who sees this lol. It was only the lead singer for J&TPC from what I can tell though
Dude, I need to tell you 3 things:
1. You’re hilarious and so clever!Your videos are addictive and somehow you manage to find the perfect balance between being cheeky and making fun while also keeping insightful and being respectful. 🙂
2. Your voice is liquid silk! Your accents are amazing. When you green screen yourself into movies it makes them so much better. 😂
3. I am not a makeup person. I’m a nanny so I don’t wear it for work and probably put on extremely minimal makeup like 3 times a year at best. But watching you put on your makeup while talking about movies makes me want to learn how to do good makeup like you do. You make me want to do better makeup! *insert screen shot of Jack talking to Helen in As Good As It Gets*
Anyway, in these days of there being so much drivel on CZcams, you are a shining light of gorgeous comic realness and I salute you. ❤
Lmao I absolutely love Parker Posey! Her character in You've Got Mail was so hilarious I've been hooked ever since.
Yes please do Romy & Michele's High School Reunion!
I love hearing your take on any type of film, whether it's a B-Movie or just great nostalgia. Your videos brighten my days, truly I can't thank you enough!
I love this movie so much!!!! And the soundtrack was everything and still is

I was obsessed with the soundtrack lol
I know all the words to all the songs.... tried to do 3 small words for an air band competition in grade 6, but the lyrics didn't make it past the teacher so we did a song by Play instead 😅
This is one of my favourite films ever, purely for how they expose the music industry, that is terrifyingly close to how it really is. Everything else is just a bonus. The cheesiness...the cast...impeccable!
Legit one of my favorite movies to watch as a tween. So many bops in this that I immediately ran to Sam Goody to purchase a copy of the soundtrack with my allowance money. These songs still get major play in Apple Music for me.
I love this movie!!!!! The satire, the jokes, the characters, the MUSIC!!!! I just ..... GOT IT.
In all fairness, Aries Spears was an integral part of one of the greatest skit shows of the 90-00s, Mad TV!! His impressions are spot on! 😂
Thank you! I was trying to remember where I knew him from 😅
This whole movie is a time capsule haha
I’m sad that this movie didn’t do well. I loved it! It was deep 😂 sending a message and it was hilarious! I had the soundtrack too!
In my head canon, Nick and Jaime are the most adorable supercouple ever and they live in a love nest with a flock of sass-speaking parrots!
OMG Jaime your African Grey is hilarious! I have a Hahns Macaw and even though he’s the smallest of the macaw species, he has a big mouth and a great vocabulary. I love that Greys have the mentality of a 5 year old kid and they’re super smart.
On another note… I love your videos and your commentaries are spot on. Keep up the good work. ❤️
Tara Reed was the best person for that role.
This movie brainwashed me to pick up a guitar and get the most terrible haircut that I was convinced was the best style of all time.
That bird's voice is my LIFE this morning. I had the longest shortest week ever lived this week.
Yes, body decals we're very popular at that time. They mostly came as a set of fake gems arranged in shapes, but they also were all manner of stuff. This was also the height of body glitter. We liked to stick things to our skin then.
"White-Ass Wally" made me laugh soooo loud. Your review was soooo jerkin'!
I have to say, I was obsessed with the song 3 Small Words in my tweens after seeing this movie. Too many words to describe here how this movie helped make me laugh while the rest of my life seemed very unfunny.
Thanks for this movie review. ❤️
You’ve probably discontinued this series but I would be so down for a Romy and Michele episode
Here's two hands : 🙌
I watch and re-watch her movie reviews. I think she still does them!
The magnetic lady as a reference is sooooo hilarious. These videos are so funny. Keep up the hard work. I’m here for all of it 😂
Yes please Romy and Michele would be such a fun movie to review. Loved your video as always!
I love the fact that this wasn't even Rachel Leigh Cook's first time on the fall comp XD
I can't with you Jaime, I am at work on my break watching this and I snorted! omg! I lost it when you were spinning you're sign in the aquarium! However, I love this movie! The costume design and the make up, the record store, the portable cd player! it's sooooo 2000's! ugh! nostalgia galore! I can't get enough of it! Just Fiona's wardrobe extravanza! ahhhh! scream! I can actually quote this movie in my dreams! Still, I'm hysterically laughing at your satirical depiction of it!
I first saw Rachel Leigh Cook as Abigail on Psych (an excellent role & great show). I feel like I’m watching all her stuff in the wrong order because I’m only now watching all the early ‘00s work lmao
The hot pink and neon orange eyeshadow looks great on you. You should wear brights more often 👍
Agreed! She looked like a pretty dolly ♥
This movie changed my life lol It will always be in my top ten. When they released a vinyl of the soundtrack I snatched it up so quickly. The jokes still make me die every time and it was such a hilarious take on the music industry that isn't far off from the actual truth.
I got the Vinyl too!!! One of the best movie soundtracks EVER!!!! Some of those songs could have been great singles!!
You are literally the only channel I watch that I don't skip through the promo section. You stay comedic all throughout. Love all your content.
Everything about this movie I’m still really obsessed with. It’s a movie of Satire that not everyone understands. I loved it so much, especially cause it did an amazing job putting Cartoon actions into REAL LIFE characters. I still love this movie!! I got it when I first saw it and it was like 6 or 7 but that’s also because I grew up watching Mel Brookes movies and very Satirical things. So I understood it right away. But even speaking to people nowadays they don’t actually get the movie is satire. Those who don’t get Satire are always gonna say it bad comedy. The wardrobe is stunning, the makeup inspired me for years, the hair! EVERYTHING! the acting. This movie is underrated.
I think the movie is a lot more popular now because teens and young adults literally lived through what Josie and her friends went through. We saw all of that happen in real time. So now we laugh. It’s why!!!! We!!! LOVE!!!!! IT!!!!
