15:27 One thing I need to clarify - Epic, Iconic and Heroic True Hearts of Wood are very earnable in game so you do not have to buy them from the store in order to get them. I didn't mean to imply here that you have to buy them from the store.
@@osteopathichomeopathicking6154 Yeah, this video was made before I started doing that. I don't think youtube supported timestamp integration into video timelines either back then. I try to on longer videos nowadays when I feel it is necessary.
About 8 years ago my wife and I played this game a lot and I just started up again but with my 8 year old son. Your videos have been very helpful thanks.
the main benefit for gold seal hirelings is, when you solo, you can get a whole party full of them, they aren't limited to 1 like the regular hirelings.
Thank you for your videos. I play Skyrim on PlayStation but I used to play DDO all the time. I recently got back into DDO because I wanted something when I travel. It also helps me understand D&D since it is based on real rules and that is a huge learning value.
You're welcome. I'm a Skyrim fan too, I've put about 70 hours into it myself on my xbox. Really fun game. I still pop it in it every once in a while.
Although it is the worst D&D version made. Including worse than 4th
I think people buy gold seal hirelings so they can spawn more hirelings in if you buy in game hirelings with plat you can only spawn 1 hireling but if you have gold seals then you can summon more hirelings but the game really is not that dead i do not think you should need more than one hire to run around with you you can find groups Fairly easily i hope this helped in some way thanks axel for your help guiding these newer people through this crasy game that is ddo happy hunting everyone!!! :)
wayfinder is pretty dead when going from 1-20 it's relatively hard to get a group for the majority of your leveling, thou that said as long as your familiar with the game soloing isn't hard and 1 hireling is plenty
when i hire hireling that are gold is normally to get a rogue. just to be able to deal with traps and get the exp from it. Not that issue with the free hireling it don't let you get a rogue

Don't buy anything in DDO store unless it's an emergency or if it's on sale and it's useful. (ie storage bag, quest packs, tomes.. etc ) .. things that will carry over with TR'ing ..I'm premium player, bought points on sale for $5 twelve years ago, and now have 6-7 toons in each world and haven't spent a nickel more.. cosmetics are a waste of money and take up inventory space.... pay to change your eye/hair color? then you TR and lose it all anyways...be smart in what you want to buy and if you're not sure ask someone in your guild who has experience.... or ask Axel.....
I do think that they should put in the description if the item can be unlocked through playing or bought with plat in game. If a new player were to unknowingly buy drow or a medium bag from the store it may leave a bad taste in their mouth when they find out they wasted their hard earned store points.

Shared bank is needed if you play multiple characters because many good Items are bound to acct. And cannot be mailed.
Ah, something to note regarding premium. What you said about how to get it earlier in the video is wrong. You don't get it for buying something from the store with DDO points, you get it for spending any amount of real money on the game, like the 8$ point package for example.
If it was buy anything in the store like a potion or something, pretty much everyone playing would be premium within a day or two.
Ah, ok then. From what I recall you had to both buy points and then buy something from the store to get premium. Of course I did this many many years ago myself so I could be mistaken. Or maybe it changed with the new store. But yeah you definitely can't get premium by just spending points you earn via favor. I didn't intend to say that if that's the way it came across.
Ah, yeah that’s definitely the way it came across, you didn’t mention needing to pay real money to get premium at all. (If I recall correctly, you can also get it with one month of vip without touching the store at all as well, it’s really just real money based.)
Something I'd appreciate you to address is I cannot access the DDO store through the game I need help figuring out how to do so steam hasn't been any help with this matter.

Yes, there is now. This video was made before they came out in DDO.
Never buy quiver with DDO points. Its a scam. U can buy quiver from npc in the game with plat.
The game's free to play is unacceptable by today's standards. They should've kept the pack giveaway promo permanently or return it as some seasonal thing. Runescape is the only other f2p game that has a similarly hopeless model. On the other side, VIP in ddo is lower than average at yearly. They should raise the VIP rate and open the gates once more to new players by getting rid of packs again. The higher rate is fine if it means we can get the surge from last year again. Argo is still the highest server population since last year when it was the default server during the promotion.
In regards to the armor and wpns you can buy in store, i have personally never wasted my points on them, but I am now wondering if they possibly have a unique look
That's a good point, I'm not sure if they have unique cosmetics or not.
Wait, so having a subscription you still have to pay for expanded content?
You get access to all the regular adventure packs with VIP, which is probably 90% or so of DDO's total content, but you have to buy the expansions just like non-VIPs.
You can buy it with the ddopoints they give you each month you are suscribed.

@@rustymarriott9951 generally, the stuff under the account tab is per account, the rest is generally per character. But each item description should clarify.

I have bought VIP from time to time so i have run the pack but I've always just used my voice of the master :)
