    I like this one and put a link to it on a comment I made on Voodu's video on the same topic. Good advice as always. Got up to around 885 at level 24 using this and voodu's ideas. I no longer die as much as I use to

      Glad you found it helpful. But do be aware this video is from 2015 so some of the advice is out of date :)

    Concealment does not roll separately, essentially what this means is that displacement will make blur irrelevant. This is a confirmed mechanic that has been tried and tested.

    • @AxelAlexK
      @AxelAlexK  Před 9 lety

      ViamelDDO Right, I'm aware that blur and displacement don't stack. If I said something to the contrary it was by mistake. Let me know where and I'll definitely fix it.

      It was more that you implied people should have both, was just unclear.

    Good to know about heavy armor being better. I will try pure Artie next life with heavy armor. Usually I splash rogue and take insightful reflex.

    Good stuff man, hit on a lot of imprt points that were easy to understand. Will take a look at your other vids, and apply your wisdom. Keep it up.

    I've found a Wizard with a PM Shroud, Death Aura on, Displacement and Blur both on, and Raged/Hasted is a fearsome juggernaut, even when not specced for melee.

      In the House Jorasco quests, there is a set that drops from a couple of the quests that give you a MASSIVE bump to your negative heal amp. I mean, you have to farm the quests, but they are not raid items and are the best negative amp items in the game. Also EK got hugely buffed.

    I'd give more than 1 like on this video if I could; You respond to every comment, have a fast upload speed for requested videos, and you have glasses like I do! (+6 Style Bonus to Intelligence, but Curse of Short-Sight: If these goggles are removed, all enemies gain 20% non-True Sight-able concealment at melee range, and 50% at range until re-equipped)
    Right now I use the ML 13 Ring of Shadows for Blur on my mechanic, since it, the Snakeskin Vest, and Gnollhide Gloves are a great rogue set in heroics (I'm level 16 atm, and I kill most things before they can reach me and kite the ones who can :P)

    • @AxelAlexK
      @AxelAlexK  Před 9 lety

      Fedora Chimz Haha yes, that concealment penalty is annoying in real life.

  • @viperswhip

    Medium armor is fine because you can pair dodge with it and there is no cap on PRR or MRR also with your bonuses on Heavy Armor being linked to your BAB, unless your BAB is high, medium armor is better.

    • @mapu1
      @mapu1 Před 5 lety

      This is really outdated, Heavy armor got massively nerfed.

  • @Iggy4470
    @Iggy4470 Před 5 lety +1

    I currently use Raven Loft medium armour (Legendary Coat of the Traveler) as it actually give me a higher AC than any Heavy armour i have tried to use, I believe it has something to do with its Dex cap or possibly the parrying, its even better than all of the Sharn armour I have tried , also I do not incur as much Spell Failure penalty wearing medium so to say heavy armour is the best is incorrect in my opinion. I have tried swapping items out to try and suit new heavy armour but I found that i usually drop around 12 AC when i do so, I usually end up going back to my original build my PPR is 135 & MMR 134 fort is around 250 ish, I have been trying to get my Dex and reflex up lately to see if that makes a difference.

    Great video! My WF Sorc has close to 1200 hps at level 28 so I am on the mark it looks like tanking. I may try adamantine enhancements and check the effect it has.

    how much more is displacement time on quarterstaff? Can I craft GS staff and bonus displacement only, or do I have to craft tiers 1, 2 and bonus 1 and 2?

    I play a pure barb with 1.8k hp raged heavy armor 150prr displacement clickies and doing around 500-750 dmg 5-6k crts. It works well when ur soloing EE's

  • @Sinnotic
    @Sinnotic Před 8 lety

    So, I've recently started play DDO and I decided to make a Barbarian and I was wondering if I should go for heavy armor. I talked to a few ppl and they said they've played bbn for a number of years and wear medium armor because if you wear plate then it removes uncanny dodge.

    you forgot fortification?

    • @AxelAlexK
      @AxelAlexK  Před 9 lety +1

      yoko5000 I did forget. I should have mentioned it. Basically have 100% in heroics and shoot for atleast ~150% in epics.

    • @junkjackcriteria
      @junkjackcriteria Před 9 lety

      ***** And the WF Improved Fortification feat(immunity to all crits & sneakers) is not sufficeint for that since healers will hate you due to immunity to positive energy, correct?

    • @AxelAlexK
      @AxelAlexK  Před 9 lety +1

      Fedora Chimz Yeah healers will probably hate you either way. I ran a WF fighter myself years ago and have experienced that first hand. I still have him, he's sitting at level 24. Those enhancements are enough for heroics but you'll need more for epics. But it doesn't matter how you're getting healed everyone needs a good fortification to prevent taking critical hits. But yes, healers don't like trying to heal people that don't have good healing amp. If you're WF on a melee class in heroics I'd get as much as you can. Take the WF healer's friend enhancement to reduce your penalty and there are items such as the Docent of Blood to increase healing amp.

    druids can't wear heavy

    • @viperswhip
      @viperswhip Před 7 lety +2

      This is completely false. They cannot wear metal armor. That's a big difference, as you can wear dragon plate, which isn't always the best armor at a given level. I think there are a few other non metal armors floating around, but in my druid lives (I did 3 fighter/paly/druid lives), I stuck to the dragon armors.
      Now, I don't know, as an example, if druids get heavy armor feat for free, but fighters and paladins do so I never bothered looking into it.
