I am probably going to come back to this video a few times because this is a good reminder for low hanging fruit in all the trees.

This really helps - especially when you're at level 22 and have a few spare points lying around

Killed it! Super helpful for my revamping all my toons this weekend. Nice work!

I'm running my GOO Warlock in Shiradi with prism, double rainbow and stay good active. It's so much fun and the damage is really nice. Also have Primal Avatar active for the cocoon and AOE cocoon and some extra charisma.
In a couple days i'm gonna try out acid Draconic with that mantle active and compare the damage to Shiradi.
    Love the new changes.

I also have a GOO EB blasting warlock. After you try both Shiradi and Draconic (acid) I'd be interested which you feel is better.

@@terencetada8584 So i already tried it out and i'll average everything.
In Draconic with the mantle active you have a 25% chance to deal 1d6 +6 per caster level in damage (whatever Draconic bloodline you pick is the same element that'll do the extra dmg). On top of the 25% chance to proc, there's a 5 second cooldown. I found out that with around 700 acid spell power, my extra damage is around 1.8-2.6k Not bad. There's a t3 ability that'll change the extra damage into a dot. It'll deal its full damage 3 extra times for a total of 4. Now, this of course has a cooldown (second or so?) and any enemy i attack that's not an orange or red named, is usually dead before even the 2nd tick of the dot can damage them.
Shiradi's mantle on the other hand has a 30% chance a spell (and your eldritch blasts) deals 3d100 +200 of a random element, scaled by that element's spell power. Then stay good/frosty have a 30% chance a spell will do an extra 3d100+100 light/frost damage, scaled by light or cold spell power. Double rainbow isn't proccing that much as it's only 7% so i'll ignore that.
With 700 acid and 700 light (rest is around 550) i feel like shiradi has way better damage. The 30% from prism plus the 30% from (i chose) stay good is already more than the draconic one. On top of that, ANY offensive spell has a chance to proc prism and stay good/frosty. So pop a mass hold and sometimes you kill a bunch of mobs because your shiradi mantle goes off.
Prism random element usually deals anywhere between 2-7k. So does stay good.
Right now i'm running shiradi/draconic and a bit of primal for cocoon, the other cocoon and that flame heal thingy. Nice heals plus nice damage = happy player.
Does youtube allow links to imgur? Let's try, it's my current ed setup. You may have more or fewer points to play around with. Mind you i'm not running a full ed. No t5, just picked what i feel is nice.

Thanks for your latest videos, have been incredibly useful to me in order to digest the changes! Especially since the DDO wiki always lags behind and it's not yet updated. 👏👏👏
I run Fighter in LD and not raging about U51, it feels pretty OK, something gained (dps), something lost (survivability). But while I do like a lot the simplification of the EDs in line with enhancements (angry mob in the forums raging about the death of exotic builds, etc) I do feel that, as usual, several imbalances have been created after the changes. Shiradi is OUTRAGEOUSLY OP. Shadowdancer monks are no longer invincible, etc etc. It's normal, therefore, that reactions in the forums are so mixed. I personally welcome the change.
Anyway, a long time ago I made my decision not to change my build around continuous system rebalances, and never to follow the meta of the month. My toon is subpar and nowhere able to solo medium-high reapers, but tbh I don't give a sh*t about reaper, always felt a bit ridiculous to me, coming from proper D&D.

I think the Heart mantle from Primal Avatar sounds potentially really nice for people using attacks. Chance to proc cocoon from every attack, which is easier than with spells.

I got some mixed feelings with the change. One the plus side the destinies offer good power on the tree, if you invest heavily in one tree and spend the rest of the points in another one. If you ran before the change in your main destiny and spread the twists in five different trees, you probably don't have enough points to get them despite there are only two other options.
I would have preferred to keep the twists, or at least five trees to choose from without needing to invest into things I don't want just to unlock the desired ability. Even the first tier is more expensive than with the twists.. not to mention the loss of point picking a former tier four and wasting 20 points to unlock it.
Over all I like the idea, the compensation for the losses should have been better than just a +5 heart.

I think you underestimate divine crusader. The core abilities are very nice, I love the non weapon durability at 5 points to deal with oozes. +3 damage/acc is a big winner. +3 saves is a winner, and i always want more fortification. For the extra points, i grabbed smite and an extra 2 charges for some extra damages vs bosses. It is a very good 11 pt investment. The 3rd core was my final pt, who doesn’t want 5 ac?
When i build character, I don’t focus as much on special abilities, I look at the numbers. I want high saves, fortification, ac melee/ranged power and spell power, hp and mana. Divine crusader is not a casting tree, but it does the combat stats very well

Hey, Strimton... Sorry for being a bit late tô the party... There you talked about Shiradi mantle being great for missile spams and multi hit spells... But doesn't the 0.1 sec cooldown implemented on it prevent one from fully benefiting from that?

Just getting back in and planning on doing an aasmir occult slayer barb (if it’s not the best idc I’m quite casual and just want to kill cool monsters as a fallen angelxD) I don’t plan on multiclassing but I’m not opposed if someone suggests something. But even after this video I’m not quite sure which tree would suite a barb well, any advice? (And I’m also dual wielding which I’ve seen on forums nobody seems so do so I might have goofd already lol)

    • @Strimtom
      @Strimtom  Před 2 lety +1

I see most beginner barbs going fury of the wild since it has amazing sustain and pretty good damage. Once gear and practice come into play people swap into LD for more damages.
Dual wield barb is also very uncommon, so I'm not sure which you should use.

Yes but it still triggers fine unless you're trying to trigger it with, say, magic missile. I had no problems triggering it with meteor swarm.
