      Sorry but I cannot believe that a book which says that one man can marry a maximum of 4 wives is the word of God. But a woman under no circumstance can have more than 1 husband. I cannot believe God can say such a thing.
      And why 4 ? why not 3 or 5 ? Well this so called divine revelation came when captured widows and girls were to be distributed among muslim soldiers. And they needed a guidance. And bingo ! came the revelation to ensure the generals don't take dozens of women and the ordinary soldiers also get a fair share. I challenge any muslim to tell me that this is not correct. I have exact quotations.

    • @namesame
      @namesame Před rokem +3

      @@caesar_cipher Actually it's more depressing. The Quranic verses say you can marry up to 4 Muslim women (women who have converted to Islam), and "as many as your right hand possess". The phrase is meant for captive girls from other tribes who haven't yet converted to Islam, or such sex slaves "righteously" purchased from captive sex slave market. Islamic apologists says such practices were followed in those times everywhere, that's simply not true. As an example, buddhist literature that is 2500 years old puts trading human beings as a forbidden trade. Search the web for "buddhism 5 forbidden trades".

      The prophets of the Torah from the Old Testament the same prophets largely of later Islam all prophesy very accurately 1000 years before all recorded in Jewish law and texts the crucifixion of the Messiah . Even the Quran states in clear terms the gospel and the Torah are the word of God . Not once does Muhammad ever have proof of his claims . Nor does he ever work wonders . Nor is there any prophecy being fulfilled from the Torah into the Quran .

      The Quran has had revisions before. Most of other Quran versions were burned because they had variations from the authorized version that Muslims have today.
      A quick google search will reveal this.
      As far as the Bible, we have ancient texts that shows that it has not been “corrupted” as Muhammad said.

When you take into account the possibility of parallel universes as well as string theory. The vast quantity of believers may very well have an affect on its existence. You may find yourself more successful in life if Instead of figuring out why something isnt. Analysing why so many believe it is so as well as why a set of beliefs has stood up for centuries. With a common understanding that human being have been here for thousands upon thousands of years more than origionaly understood it is infintile to write off ancient beliefs to just backwards people that weren't as advanced as our current ideration.....the pyramids alone debunk that theory.....God bless

Rather, the central narrative of all scripture, Old or New Testament, is the person of Christ. That narrative is not susceptible to copying errors as it fills the entire body of scripture. One needs to discard or re-write that entire body of work to erase that narrative. The Quran is such a project.

Yet, we recognize genius in Newton and Euclid and do well to attend to their insights. Einstein does not refute his predecessors, but builds upon their insights, and in like manner do Feynman and Nima. Knowledge grows by accretion.

But you get to know it better from within when they have total power over you and you can truly understand its nature, and when a sword helps you understand better what the words didn’t manage to convey to you. The Vedic scriptures are from pre-Panini era. Therefore, the grammar is actually beyond the confines of Panini`s rules. While the scriptures contain many interesting checks and balances to ensure that words and the intonations are passed on as it is, they have been affected by accents and regional variations of pronunciations. Also, it is believed that we are left with only a small fraction of the scriptures that we originally had.
      Secondly, the Vedas are very abstract, they are compared to the milk, while the Upanishads, puranas and the Itihasas (mahabharata and ramayana) are compared to its derivatives like curd, paneer, ghee etc. You would not find mentions of advents like Rama or Krishna in the Vedas. Even the very common mantra of Rudram, is not a matching description to Shiva. However, people in search of something more concrete though the abstraction or for whatever reasons, have added verses to the Vedas and today they are chanted with those verses.
      For example : Namaste astu bhagawan vishweshwaraaya, mahadevaaya … is an addition in rudram.
      Thirdly, the writing of Vedas in different vernacular scripts. Not all languages have as many sounds and syllables as Sanskrit. With people transliterating Vedic hyms into other languages like Gujrati, Tamil etc we tend to lose out on the exact word and its pronunciation. Tamil probably has a single letter for the entire varga in sanskrit. Let`s say ‘throwpathy’ and ‘drowpady’ will have the same spelling in Tamil. Similar issues with writing in English.
      When you look at the mantras of Sāmaveda which are usually sourced from the Ṛgveda. There are about 75 (yoni) mantras in the Sāmaveda without the original Ṛgvedic source. And some Sāmagāna mantras, that are actually sung, without the corresponding yoni (source) mantras.
      These are only a few reasons and instances that show that they indeed have been changed.

    Even if it's not explicitly stated, I still can't shake every monotheistic religion and the implicit claim that their interpretation is the 'correct' version (or the closest to God). Every religion has essentially made this claim from the very beginning.
    I do happen to be a lapsed Christian (if you can't already tell). About the interpretation thing, the in the Quran God says that he brought to us the book with verses that are straight forward in meaning, they are the core of the book, and other verses that can be interpreted in different ways, so those who are sick at heart would manipulate it to their benefits, and those who are of knowledge would see them doing it. Basically to weed out self promoters from genuine ppl. That's why scholars of the islamic faith, will always end their interpretation with "Allah knows best", because they are humble enough to recognize that maybe there's something they didn't understand properly.
      Muslims believe in the original torah and gospels to be the word of God as well. But if we look into the history of collecting those books in their original unchanged language vs the Quran, we would find a big difference in reliability of the authenticity of the Torah and Gospel vs the Quran. How many ppl roday speak the original language of the Quran vs the Gospels and the Torah. Just something to think about

    What I don’t honestly understand is the “peace be upon” they are higher beings/gods/prophets who’ve elevated life. They wouldn’t need peace as it wouldn’t apply.

      Muslims believe only God is uncreated and He created everything else. One of His names is Peace. So we are supplicating to God to manifest His name Peace to the Prophets and Mary as well, all of them being very special and revered, yet still created beings in need of their Creator.

    • @abdullah11120
      @abdullah11120 Před rokem +1

      Hope that helped and as a side point, to clarify, no matter how special the Prophets are, the barrier of created vs uncreated can never be passed. So no elevating beyond that.

      The greeting “As-salamu alaykum” also means peace be upon you to which the person greeted replies “Wa-alaykum Salam” which is direct reciprocation of the greeting.
      So it is not only exclusive to prophets, we say it to honour their mention which is for any prophet including Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them).
      Wishing peace on anyone is an act of good faith and coexistence.

    • @Lightexo
      @Lightexo Před rokem

      Also if you look at the Bible there is a lot of reference to peace being wished upon one another as well as Jews using a similar form of greeting so it’s well grounded in all these religions.

    I enjoyed this interview. I do think Suleiman has greatly exaggerated his claims about the Quran being unchanged throughout history. There have absolutely been changes and different versions throughout history, and the current standard version was challenged at its inception by actual witnesses to the Prophet.
    He is correct that the Gospels are testimonies that don't always agree with each other, and have gone through revisions over time. But these variations between gospels are not significant to core Christian beliefs. I think the same could likely be said for the different Quran variations we have seen through history.
    I do respect the idea of the Quran being memorized globally in one unified language - biblical translations over time in so many different languages outside of the original Greek and Aramaic has caused countless theological arguments and difficulties

      have you seen the birmingham manuscript that was found by non muslims and said that it was dated to the time of the prophet. If you look at that manuscript it matches the quran, word for word to what we have today. Also, there's a reason why we have Hadiths, which is seperate from the Quran and talks about the life of the prophet in more details and we recognize the hadiths to not be authentic. In fact, if you were to read the hadith vs the quran, its COMPLETELY different, just from the way its written you can immediately tell if a scripture is the word of god or written by humans

      I genuinely don't get the correlation between your two examples. For one to say "trust me". Those mere two words empowers the one delivering them. "May peace be upon him" in my opinion his a kind gesture that any well thought out person would wish for another. It's also an acknowledgement of ones minute importance in life knowing that they truly don't have the ability to grant peace but maybe those few words may add to the possibility. I am not a Muslim but that's how it comes off to me. Regardless it is a very kind thing to say and if you have a problem with it you should really question why......I assume as an "atheist" you have a reverence for science a small understanding of physics would tell you that your thoughts ie words have more power than just being sounds coming out of your mouth. May God bless you and I hope one day you will see there is more than just what's right in front of you. It took me many years as well to have my eyes opened. At bare minimum if you're content being an atheist I would make very certain I am right before putting all my eggs in one basket
