  • Believing in the unseen takes a certain amount of faith and conviction. But no matter how much faith we have, there’s often a tiny, lingering question at the back of our minds - how do we really know this is the truth? In our new series, Quran - Is it Really the Word of God? We tackle this very subject. How do Muslims know that Quran is really the word of God? What proof does one have to confirm this?

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
    Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
When I was a child, I spake like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is LOVE.”
    Corinthians 13: 1-13.
    * LOVE appear about 10 times more often in the bible, never is it love of money, power or material goods! (310 vs 45)

How to know if the Book is the Word of God, revealed from God, ask to answer:
Does it reveal the name of the LORD God Almighty?
_"Read in the name of your Lord..."_
When given to read a Book, if not in the name of God then it is not from God, not the Word of God and Revelation.
    So,
*What is personal name of God, revealed by God Almighty Himself and worshipped by the Chosen People of the Book?*
Only God Himself knows to name Himself and to reveal it, no other being can concoct and fashion a word with which to name God.

  • @TheMsk5in
    @TheMsk5in Před 2 lety

What Allah says about the Quran in the Quran
    • There is no doubt in this Book (2:2).
    • Allah has taken the responsibility to explain it (75:19).
    • Allah says He has revealed the Quran and He will protect it (15:9).
    • Allah’s revelation to the Prophet (PBUH) is written in the Quran (6:19). There is no verse in the Quran which says that Allah’s revelation to the Prophet (PBUH) is outside the Quran.
    • Momineen are asked to obey the revelation from Allah (7:3).
    • The Prophet (PBUH) was asked to obey the revelation sent down on him (10:109).
    • The Prophet (PBUH) was asked to follow the Quran (75:18).
    • Allah required the Prophet (PBUH) to follow the blessed Book sent down on him (6:155).
    • The Prophet (PBUH) used to judge matters according to the revelation sent down on him (5:48).
    • Those who do not judge matters according to what Allah has revealed are Kaafirs (5:44).
    • In the Quran, Allah has completed His message and no one can change anything in it (6:34, 6:115).
    • The Quran encompasses the message of earlier revelations (5:48). So, the truth of earlier revelations is now contained in the Quran.
    • In it there are no contradictions (4:82).
    • Allah has called the Quran “Tibyaanan li Kulli Shaiyin (16:89)”. This means it explains everything.
    • Allah gives many verses on a particular topic over and over again (6:105, 17:41). This means that we have to collect all the verses on a topic in order to understand it fully. This is the Divine method of understanding the Quran.
    • The Prophet (PBUH) was required to solve all human differences through the Quran (16:64).
    • The Prophet (PBUH) was required to admonish and remind people through the Quran (50:45).
    • The Quran itself is light (5:15). So, it is not dependent on another source of light.
    • This light (i.e., the Quran) has been given so that human beings, using this light, can travel safely on the path of life (6:122).
    • Allah undertook the responsibility to collect the Quran (75:17). [The logical conclusion from this verse is that the Quran was collected and put together by the Prophet (PBUH). Allah decided the sequence of Surahs and verses and no one else besides the Prophet (PBUH) could have received the direction from Allah on how to put them together. There is no verse in the Quran asking the Prophet (PBUH) to delegate this extremely important responsibility to anyone else.]
    • Whatever difference human beings have, the decision is with Allah (42:10). [Since Allah’s decision is contained only in the Quran, it is logical to believe that it has the power to serve as the constitution for the entire world, creating a universal brotherhood. The model implemented by the Prophet (PBUH) is a proof of this.]
These are some of the verses, which clearly establish what the position of the Quran should be in the life of Muslims.

Bruce Wayne well scientific documentation shows that the origin of the Earth and embryology recently came to light and historical documentation shows that no scientists had predicted/made a scientific statement one hundred percent correct regarding such huge topics in science yet the Quran did and got it 100% correct over 1000 years before science got it completely correct. Even if the prophet did plagiarise why would he randomly choose all the correct elements of the Greek scriptures that critics say he criticised from not knowing whether they were correct or incorrect he should’ve plagiarised it all. For example people believed the Earth was the centre of the universe, the sun was the centre of the universe etc so if the prophet was going to plagiarise he would’ve also wrote these statements down but there aren’t any incorrect scientific statements in the Quran despite there being over like 1000.

All religions are human inventions, all gods are human inventions...and every believer acknowledges this about all the other religions and all the other gods, while insisting, with equal sincerity and equal lack of evidence, that theirs is the one and only miraculous exception.
Everyone has evidence of gods existence and yet no one has ever won any of the world's prizes, no Nobel prize.
So until you can demonstrate magic exists, then the magical Allah you believe in is mythology.

Nobody knows, which is why faith is required and faith is the belief in something without evidence. Which doesn’t make it a fact. Don’t Muslims (or any religious people) care if their religion is actually true?

Just like the point of mathematics, if you say there are some mathematical patterns in the book which cannot have come from a human being how come human being acknowledge the patterns now. Second if mohammad could nt read or write doesn't mean someone else couldn't write for him as the book it not written in a day. It spans to almost 2-3 decades till he died. Why Quran is the Book of Allah, the creator, the planner, the programmer, then maintainer, the Originator of entire universe?
Because Allah SWT Himself designed Quran, in such a way that Prooves it authenticity, and it depends on your education, how much you can communicate with Quran.
It answers all the Question of people who doubts its authenticity, in any period of time.
You Question it, and Quran will answer it, but you should know, how to search your answer in Quran.
Or ask a person that is well versed in Arabic and who is perfect in Quran.
In translation, you won’t find your answer up to perfection.
Quran means a book that inculcates to discover / explore itself.
I will explain you, my analysis, why I take Quran as authentic ?
First Proof, Creation / initiation of Arabic language in a small, remote village, and its selection for purpose of Quran, then universalization of it and keeping it alive and intact for all times.
Why selection of small remote and illiterate people, not connected to remaining World ?
Before this think, why creation of desert land in center of Planet Earth ?
It was under the plan and Program of Allah SWT of thousands of years.
If you analyses formation of Planet earth and the civilizations history and connect the dots, you will find a great program going on unnoticed since, creation of planet earth.
Then analyses, why sending of Ibrahim AS and his family in center of hot desert and starting of water fountain.
Second Proof, termination of all the previous languages in which Holy Scriptures was revealed, or Holy people use to communicate with their people.
It was not by chance or negligence but on well planned purpose, to make room for Arabic language as only holy language to survive
    till end of times.
You will find, all the communication of Allah SWT before creation of man, was in Arabic language.
Every language belongs to God, but he specially designed Arabic language to fill the purpose.
Every word of Arabic language is a library in itself, in comparison to our living languages, the word “Allah” itself requires volumes of Explanations to understand to perfection.
Third proof, challenges in Quran to prove itself wrong.
Fourth proof, explanation of great phenomena of modern sciences / discoveries, which we discovered by created great instrument and Probes with trillion dollar projects of scientists like NASA, ISRO, EMBL, CERN talked by illiterate of Arab that too 1500 years back.
Analyses this methodology of Allah SWT and connect the dots, you will find God created humans with skills of sciences and communication and He Himself waiting at other end to reply and expose himself to those who reached Him by His designed way of sciences and communication.

    The Qur'an is God's Words:
In the name of Allah(God), The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
All besides those believers who have pure faith, irrespective of which religious background they claim to have come from, merely a single sign would suffice them to believe in the existence of One God, whether it be a sign concerning a scientific phenomenon or any other sign. Where as, on the other hand, there are people who would never believe even if a thousand signs are presented to them, such people would never accept faith and as such they are the Rejectors; there may be a third sect/group/category of people who may be convinced if proper efforts are made, either by means of science and technology, or by reasoning and with logic or by any other technique.
As today is the age of science and technology, the best approach we have is the use of scientifically proven and established facts, excluding hypotheses and theories (which lack solid evidence) in order to convince an atheist or an agnostic or any other individual who may not believe that the Qur'an is the revelation of God, as no human being could ever mention such scientific facts in the Qur'an, 14 centuries back which the humanity has unveiled/discovered very recently, with the help of rapidly growing technology and the advances made by the modern scientific world.
Majority of the people who disagree with the fact that the Qur'an has been sent down by God, revealed to the last and final messenger and servant of God, i.e. prophet Mohammad (pbuh), when asked about the reason they disbelieve, what they come up with is that they falsely claim that the Qur'an must have been written by prophet Mohammad himself as they do not have any better explanation for not believing in the Qur'an or Allah.
With the help of mathematics, we can refute their baseless claim (that Muhammad is the author of the Qur'an, they even fail to realise that he was an Ummi,i.e. he was unlettered/illiterate!).
Nevertheless, even for the sake of an argument, let us be kind enough to give them a benefit of doubt, and say that may be, prophet Muhammad wrote the Qur'an (though we never agree!).
Now we shall refute their false claim with the help of what we know in mathematics as 'The Probability Theory'.
Probability is basically concerned with the likelihood or the chance of something happening/taking place or not happening for which we make certain guesses/flukes or predictions at random and calculate the chance of our choice or guess coming true as a number or percentage.
Probability has a range of 0-1. Having a probability of 0 implies the impossibility of the occurence of the event we are dealing with, on the other hand, probability of 1 means that the event is sure to occur, thus affirming a 100% possibility of the occurrence of the event we are dealing with. Any number in between would indicate that the event may either occur or not.
For example,if you toss or flip a coin(fair), there are(a total of), two possibilities, it may either land up with a head or tail, whatever choice you make the mathematical chance/probability of your guess being rightat random is 1 out of 2,i.e. 1/2 or 50%.
Further, if you have a die (having 6 faces) and you roll it, the chance of your guess-number coming on the top is 1/6 as there are a total of 6 distinct choices to make.
Similarly,if you roll the die 2 times in succession/consecutively or roll two dice simultaneously (both yield the same result, these are termed as 'independent events' meaning that the two (or more) events have no influence/impact on one another; they yield independent results) what you'll see is, the probability of both your choices being right at the same time is merely
    (1/6)×(1/6) i.e. 1/36 which is < 3%.
Now,if you roll the die 3 times successively, the chance of you making the right choice all three times, just at random is
    (1/6)×(1/6)×(1/6) i.e. 1/216 which is < 0.5%.
Let us now consider the compound event of tossing the coin 2 times and rolling the die 4 times, the probability of you making the correct choices all 6 times is therefore
    (1/2)×(1/2)×(1/6)×(1/6)×(1/6)×(1/6)=(1/2)^2 × (1/6)^4 =(1/4)×(1/1296)=1/5184 which is ~ 0.02%.
Let me generalize the method for you.
If you repeat an experiment for n different times and all of which must deal with independent events as in our case here, fortunately; and you have a probability of, say 'p' for each of the individual events and of course 0 < p < 1.
Now you want to calculate the probability of you making the correct choice all 'n' times i.e. each time you making the right choice without a single mistake..
It is p^n,i.e. 'p' raised to the power of 'n'.
For those who are good at maths, they can readily see that this number, p^n quickly reaches 0 when |p| < 1 and n is let increase!!
Praise be to Allah SWT,all the Qur'anic verses that talk about scientific phenomena can be modelled as ' the independent events' in this very analysis of ours.
And the holy Qur'an contains more than 1,000 (out of more than 6,000 verses in total) verses which speak about science. And more than 800 of which have already been supported by established scientific facts.
    1.
For example, the Qur'an says that the light of the moon is not its own light but rather, it is the reflected light of the sun (the moon reflects the light from the sun onto the earth), for this one people (at the time of the revelation of the Qur'an,i.e. at the time of the prophet) could have made two choices (if they were asked, hypothetically) i.e. the light of the moon could be the light of its own or it could be the borrowed light of the sun.
    2.
Similarly, the Qur'an talks about the spherical shape (more accurately, the geo-spherical shape, as the earth is slightly flattened at the poles and slightly bulging out at the equatorial region,i.e. the 'circle of maximum diameter').
People could have thought of various shapes for the earth such as flat, triangular, rectangular etc. So, lfor this particular one, the number of choices would be more than 2.
    3.
The Qur'an states that the Sun also rotates (about its own axis)...people couldn't even have thought of this, at the time of the prophet as this one is a very very recent discovery, we came to know about this hardly a few decades earlier. So even for this particular one, there would be 2 choices to make, the Sun may either rotate or not! (For the sake of argument only!)
    4.
The Qur'an talks, in a nutshell, about the birth of our universe which the scientists today call the Big Bang, it may be right or wrong. ..So for this too, we would have 2 choices.
    5.
The Qur'an talks about the interstellar matter, called 'plasma' by the scientists. Again, could be right or wrong. ..So 2 choices for this too.
    6.
The Qur'an states that our universe has been expanding. Again, could be right or wrong. .So for this too, we have 2 choices.
    And so on..
The Qur'an talks about scientific phenomena, over and over again, for more than 1,000 times.
Each verse which talk about a scientific phenomenon, can be attributed a number of choices we can think of, as above. These choices vary, from 2 (which is the least/minimum number of choices) to larger numbers, for instance,in the case of the earth, we could think of more than a dozen of possible shapes!
Let's restrict ourselves to 2 (as the number of choices), clearly seeing that even the least number of choices would give us the desired result and if we consider more number of choices, we get to the result even more quickly.
As a challenge to the people, I'll prove my logic even with the least number of choices as the Qur'an, with no doubts, is the book of God.
Proceeding with 2 choices as the flukes/guesses for each of the verses which speak about science, what we find is, the probability or the mathematical chance of one making the correct choice all 800 times, i.e. making the right choice for each of the verses each and every single time is...
    Using, probability = p^n with p = 1/2 and n = 800...
    Probability(P) = (1/2)^800 = 1/(2)^800
The number 2^800, i.e. 2 raised to the power of 800 is a very huge number though it may not appear so, so huge that the number
1/(2)^800 is literally negligible and is considered 0 (zero/nill) in practical mathematics.
The number of choices that could be thought of,for the scientific verses of the Qur'an is not merely 2 as we have used above!!
We could've used more than 2 choices in which case we'd have arrived at the answer of 0 even more quickly.
So,even in the most probable case (using the least number of choices, i.e.2), the probability of the scientific verses being written in the noble Qur'an by (any) a human being is 0.
The Qur'an,thus, can never be the work of a human. It must have come from a divine source. The only being Who could mention such facts in the Qur'an must be the Creator Himself Who possesses All The Knowledge.
    Peace be on you all.

      (2) Jesus declared who denied His death and resurrection for human concern was SATAN (Matthew 16:23, Mark 8:33).
      (3) Jesus rejected the Devil in desert who appeared and tempted Jesus to worship the Devil. (Matthew 4:1-11, Luke 4:1-13)

    Salaam
The Quran gives *no warrant* that prophet Mohammed was illiterate.
The translation of "Ummiy" to "Illiterate" is wrong if considering the way the Quran used this word. Instead it suggests to mean the opposite of the people of the Book: the Gentiles (e.g. see 3:20)

    • @quixoticmelancholic7141
      @quixoticmelancholic7141 Před 6 lety

With respect, If you read all the ayat ("verses") that use the word, you will find you are incorrect. For example 2:78 (Sura Al-Baqarah) is speaking of Jews who do not know the Torah , not Gentiles, as being "ummiy",.
The Quran does , in fact, describe prophet Mohammed as illiterate, and that has been the unanimous understanding of the word used in that context by those at the time the Quran first appeared, who actually spoke the Arabic of the Quran.

    • @sal_strazzullo
      @sal_strazzullo Před 6 lety

      Hi,
Regarding to 2:78 I have a question, if _ummi_ means _unlettered:_
      The next verse, 2:79 says:
_So woe to those who write the Book with their hands then say: "This is from God," so that they can purchase with it a cheap price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they gained._
*Can the illiterate write the Book with their own hands?*

    • @quixoticmelancholic7141
      @quixoticmelancholic7141 Před 6 lety

I would presume not. But that is not an issue in understanding what is being expressed, because a preceding ayah describes who "those who write the book with their own hands"are:
-2:76 And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We have believed"; but when they are alone with one another, they say, "Do you talk to them about what Allah has revealed to you so they can argue with you about it before your Lord?" Then will you not reason?
These are the ones being warned in 2:79. The illiterate ones mentioned in 2:78 are "AMONG THEM..." introduced in 2:76.
The term ummiy can indeed mean those who are unfamiliar with previous revelation, depending on context, but as I mentioned above, it isn't the ONLY meaning, and wouldn't apply actually, since revelation of the Quran (as Muslims believe) taught the Prophet about the Torah and Gospel, so He wasn't completely ignorant of what they contained.
Most importantly, however, the Quran (e.g. 29:48), the collected verified sayings of the Prophet and his companions, and even unattested stories speak to his being illiterate, have not contradicted the idea of his being illiterate, and have all led to a consensus in Islamic scholarly tradition from the earliest time that he was illiterate. I hope this helps. God bless
(all quotes are from the Yusuf Ali translation)

    • @sal_strazzullo
      @sal_strazzullo Před 6 lety

      Peace,
      Thank you for your time,
I still think that the prophet could not be unlettered.
If you read 29:48, that very verse is telling us that the prophet did not recite nor write *before* the Qur'an.
"And not (did) you recite before it, any Book, and not (did) you write it with your right hand, in that case surely (would) have doubted the falsifiers." (word by word islamawakened.com)
The Monotheist Group translates this verse as follows:
      Qur'an 29:48
_You were not reciting any Book before this, nor were you writing _*_one_*_ down by your hand. In that case, the doubters would have had reason._
And you could think that this translation is biased in translating "hu" as "one" instead of "it", but the grammar actually supports this translation, and also Sahih International did the same, despite the fact that it is a mainstream translation, usually liked by the Salafi and Sunni in general.
      Qur'an 29:48
_And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe _*_one_*_ with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt._
      quran.com/29/48
So this verse is actually saying that before receiving the revelations the prophet could not (or did not) write down any book. But, actually it is not denying that he learnt to write for the sake of God; since it is not a difficult task it is not difficult to think that he learned; especially when *the first command of God was "Read!"*

    • @quixoticmelancholic7141
      @quixoticmelancholic7141 Před 6 lety +1

If I understand your point, you are alleging he learned to write AFTER he became a prophet, correct?
Given a possible interpretation of this verse, I can see where that might be implied. But even if true (which I don't believe) the point is moot.
The fact that someone who was illiterate one day began producing words of startling beauty and eloquence is what was so momentous, a fulfillment of prophecy, amazing to all who knew him, and an impossible challenge to the most literate among the Arabs. The Quran, from its first words, was beyond anything anyone could have presented, let alone what he could have possibly produced himself, and that is the miracle. Even If he learned to read/write later, so what? A man who doesn't know how to swim, falls into the Straight of Dover and somehow manages to make it across the English channel to France without drowning. That is amazing. That he later learned to swim is irrelevant.
Even though it is a moot point, I still disagree with your conclusion based on:
      1. Ayat that are very clear, not open to the interpretation you offered (e.g. 7:157, 158) that he is foretold in the Torah and Gospel as an illiterate prophet , requiring him to remain illiterate in order for the verses to remain true (that is, at no point would he become literate and falsify the verse).
      2. The history of how the Quran was written, from the discussion of designated scribes , to the memorizers, to the gathering of written materials, to the writing of a reviewed text, is clear that the Prophet never wrote anything of the Quran down, even to the last verse which was revealed over 20 years after the first.
      3. Again, unanimous scholarly tradition
That which is ambiguous must be interpreted in light of what is clear, not vise versa.
I hope this helps. Thank you for the pleasant exchange. God bless
