If your consumer accidentally grabs the wrong product and likes that taste better, you've lost them basically forever. Their names arent really that close. its coca vs nuka (the cola part doesnt matter, considering thats literally what the drink is). Their color scheme being the same doesnt really matter. In fact, the biggest issue is the squiggly line. Thats not even talking about how nuka cola has been rocket shaped for quite some time now

They ain't evil... who's more evil the 2 factions who's sole goal is trying to destroy the opposition... or the institute who want to make a super powerful generator so they can stop relying on the world above and break all contact with it... The only reason they target everyone after the generator is done is because they correctly assume that nobody else would leave them alone. The only crime they ever committed was dabbling in controversial robotics and cleaning up their own messes. (Which wouldn't be such a mess if the railroad wasn't freeing synths and encouraging the idea of self independence.)
Tbh when I saw how clean and healthy everyone was it just made me angry that they were not only not helping anyone on the surface, but also treating them like test subjects.

They can create technoorganic human so having the scanners to be able to scan what is in Nukacola shouldn't be that hard to imagine. Alternatively, they could also potentially make a different recipe that just happens to taste like it. There are like 5 different tastes and anything you eat is just a combination of the 5 tastes. One day it should be possible to flavor food and drinks to taste like others allowing for healthier foods that taste good. I'd eat what is essentially a salad if it tasted like a seared steak lol.

That was one of my biggest pet peeves about the game was father promised to answer any questions you had and dispel any rumors and show that what we heard was false and what they're doing is right. But yet I was not able to question them about University point, the random Travelers I would find on the side of the road at a camp that were just murdered by synth in their sleep, the synth infiltrators attacking my settlements, the super mutants they created and released like Swan and the stuff that Virgil talked about, and so much more.

I mean the sole Survivor didn’t get shoved into a ice box for 210 years to be exact for no reason? Which means even though they saw their son die as an Old man they still somehow outlived them thanks to some kind of saving grace after being frozen stiff for so long, Lest their spouse was murdered and the son kidnapped in the process, But everyone else in vault 111 died and some became nothing more than dust laced skeletons with partially damaged clothing that survived the breakdown levels.

I kinda just wanted to take the institute and have them collaborate with the Minutemen. The institute can telephort synths and people ANYWHERE. Under new leadership, it could be an actual defense force. LITERALLY getting to places at a minutes notice.
@Richard Arriaga that was 60 years ago, and a lot of scientific creations later. The Sol survivor is the new bridge. Able to bring context, hope, and knowledge to silence the conspiracy theoriests, fear, and ignorance. Maybe set up installations run by synths to give food and medical assistance to traders along the road. Repair their reputation through working alongside the minutemen. Become the Commonwealth's guardian angel rather than its boogeyman. Lots of things can happen when an organization is under new management. People will be scared at first, distrusting, but over time and consistency, the institute would be seen in a better light. And the children, the next generation wouldn't be prejudiced towards the cool robots that kill the mirelurks, super mutants, and raiders, and patrol the towns. Saying nice words like "It's a pleasure to see you, sir." Or other things. They'd be popular with children and probably encourage them to join up with the minutemen watching them fight side by side.
From this sole interaction, you can tell how the Institute trade carefully in dealing with the Main Character, cause they know if they mess up they all gonna explode.
Yeah, pretty sure you can also find memos where people in the institute are told to act that everything is great and make the protagonist feel really good.
A tag team with the institute and the minutemen would be the best ending ngl. Minutemen running the show on top and receiving top of the line stuff from down below. Minutemen aren't afraid of the radiation or outsiders and can be great diplomats and a reliable watchman.
Pretty sure the Minutemen would have a problem with the Institute murdering people for eugenics purposes. The Minutemen’s entire ideology is “murder is wrong”

My belief would be that consedering DLC's are also canon Sole survivor in the end becomes an raider boss. Following that logic i believe that he/she sided with Instutude rebuilt the Minuteman but then joined raiders when everything becomed "not sensible" and i also believe the canon sole survivor is the male one due to he is an Anchorage Vet.
The story writing of FO4 was crap considering the previously established lore. It's a nice game, but I won't consider it as part of the canonical Fallout lore. To me it's the worst Fallout I have played (didn't play Tactics yet).

The institute is the only faction with the actual capabilities to fix the wasteland, the brotherhood doesn’t even care and the minutemen are limited to say the least
The Brotherhood is doing a lot of good, tho, by dealing with super mutants, raiders, ferals, etc. The best ending would be one in which the Minutemen and Brotherhood become buddies, but unfortunately, that's not possible.
The Brotherhood does care. The current East Coast Brotherhood under Maxson carries a mixture of Lyons ((protect the people, regardless of cost)) and West Coast Beliefs ((Preserve technology and destroy dangerous technology)). Ironically most people, even those who play the game, ignore the huge amounts of Lyons' Teachings that they do. They set up checkpoints to make the trade routes safer, made trade/protection agreements with settlements like Diamond City, openly trade non precious technology ((weapons, power, food production, etc)), go on purges of super mutants/feral ghouls, severely punish those in their ranks who try to be cunts to locals, etc etc. They just view Gen 3 Synths as the ultimate infiltrator weapon that need to be destroyed. And they're not wrong. A Gen 3 synth can be programmed with sleeper protocols that even the synth itself is unaware of, with scavenged equipment. IE Dima programs Captain Avery to destroy Far Harbor should they ever attack Acadia or the Nucleus.

I was impressed by how well lit and clean everything in the institute was. The whole rest of the world is covered in a protective layer of grime and only one flickering lightbulb lighting the place.
All I needed was Classical Radio to know I made the right choice in becoming the new Director of the Institute, as that’s typically my go-to jam when building settlements.
Minutemen: we'll band together like a bunch of revolutionary war reenactment fanboys/post-apocalyptic homesteaders! Brotherhood of Steel: we'll kick the crap out of everyone, execute mutants, and hoard all the technology for the "greater good"! The Railroad: free the synths! The Institute: we will literally fix the apocalypse.
Brotherhood doesn't hoard all the technology, the hoard technology deemed too dangerous for humanity. You don't have to agree with them but there's a difference. The Institute also literally doesn't care about fixing the wasteland, they literally have made it worse and really done little to improve anything for those above them. Even with you taking leadership, there's no indication the rest of the institute will follow your direction and won't attempt to get rid of you if they don't like how you run things.
Dude, if a random Institute guy came up to me handing me a sample of the freshly made Nuka-Cola I would gladly join. The institute was the fallout equivalent of Southern slave owners Pre Civil War. Always talking about making the world a better place for every person, and nobody seems to realize that the Institute doesn't consider the wastelanders or the Synths people.
When I first played Fallout 4, I was going down the Minuteman route until I reached the Institute and I felt a natural nudge to go down that route with my son. I thought I would eventually get the choice down the road to dictate the Institute and like open it up or something to start cooperating with the surface. Man, was I disappointed.
The institute is the only faction that you really get to decide what their core focus will be. That, and their actual potential to move on from a life of the wasteland are why I immediately chose them when offered.
A little thing I saw only minutes earlier was that Dogmeat is so loyal and healthy, smart and just so happens to be exceptionally close to Nate as he defrosted, almost as if he was sent to him by Shaun lol

That’s like one of the biggest issues with fallout 4’s writing. They had to really force making the institute seem evil with really cliche and hamfisted shit like a nonsensical slavery allegory or kidnappings that never really get addressed. It’s like they wanted to make a dilemma but made the institute too valid and had to inject the “puppy kicker” cliche.
@@gummyboots All the synth stuff was introduced in Fallout 3, and it’s the only thing that makes them different from other technologically advanced factions in Fallout besides the actually absolutely groundbreaking technology of basic sanitation practices. I don’t think the writing makes the Institute seem valid, it just makes all the factions seem as useless as each other, all that really changes is what you want your main base to look like.

@@gummyboots No, the slavery allegory and railroad introduced in Fallout 3. There was a quest in Rivet City called ‘The Replicated Man’ where you got evil karma for handing the synth to the Institute and good karma for not turning him in. Also note that the only reason the Institute seems like the best bet for restoring the Commonwealth is because they literally killed everyone else. They were invited to help form the Commonwealth Provisional Government set up by the Minutemen and Settlement leaders, and then killed everyone. This led to the Minutemen and a ton of settlements collapsing, not to mention the Institute themselves is known to raid settlements or replace the people in charge with synths. Father does say the Institute did this because they believed the CPG had too much infighting, but he also doesn’t believe Wastelanders deserve human rights and regularly has them killed, tortured, and experimented on. He also makes the Lone Wanderer the next leader out of nepotism. TL;DR The Institute is the direct and/or indirect cause for literally all the problems in the Commonwealth, why would they want to fix any of it?

@@HowlingDoom Gen 3s are valued by the Institute for infiltration, which they view as necessary since they view all other organized societies as potential threats to be infiltrated and controlled or utterly destroyed if not able to be manipulated. Gen 3s also are fully sustainable as opposed to Gen 1s and Gen 2s as Synth Components are made of plastic and Gen 3 Synths are made from DNA; plastics can be created using plant matter and of course growing a human doesn't take scavenging any outside precious metals. Phase 3 of the Institute's plan is total sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Their names arent really that close. its coca vs nuka (the cola part doesnt matter, considering thats literally what the drink is). Their color scheme being the same doesnt really matter.

That was one of my biggest pet peeves about the game was father promised to answer any questions you had and dispel any rumors and show that what we heard was false and what they're doing is right. But yet I was not able to question them about University point, the random Travelers I would find on the side of the road at a camp that were just murdered by synth in their sleep, the synth infiltrators attacking my settlements, the super mutants they created and released like Swan and the stuff that Virgil talked about, and so much more.

This is more of a sci-fi trope then Bethesda trope. They've had good scientists. To be Frank someone needs to be the bad guy and it's easier if that bad guy is impersonal and faceless for good portion of the game. And it's easier for logic to be evil. Plus it makes for a surprisingly good twist with Sean.
I mean the sole Survivor didn’t get shoved into a ice box for 210 years to be exact for no reason? Which means even though they saw their son die as an Old man they still somehow outlived them thanks to some kind of saving grace after being frozen stiff for so long, Lest their spouse was murdered and the son kidnapped in the process, But everyone else in vault 111 died and some became nothing more than dust laced skeletons with partially damaged clothing that survived the breakdown levels.

I kinda just wanted to take the institute and have them collaborate with the Minutemen. The institute can telephort synths and people ANYWHERE. Under new leadership, it could be an actual defense force. LITERALLY getting to places at a minutes notice.

Able to bring context, hope, and knowledge to silence the conspiracy theoriests, fear, and ignorance. Maybe set up installations run by synths to give food and medical assistance to traders along the road. Repair their reputation through working alongside the minutemen. Become the Commonwealth's guardian angel rather than its boogeyman. Lots of things can happen when an organization is under new management.
People will be scared at first, distrusting, but over time and consistency, the institute would be seen in a better light. And the children, the next generation wouldn't be prejudiced towards the cool robots that kill the mirelurks, super mutants, and raiders, and patrol the towns. Saying nice words like "It's a pleasure to see you, sir." Or other things. They'd be popular with children and probably encourage them to join up with the minutemen watching them fight side by side.
This has been my head canon forever. Because of the radio broadcast you can change it up to making them not sound evil and be hopeful for the future

From this sole interaction, you can tell how the Institute trade carefully in dealing with the Main Character, cause they know if they mess up they all gonna explode.
Yeah, pretty sure you can also find memos where people in the institute are told to act that everything is great and make the protagonist feel really good.
A tag team with the institute and the minutemen would be the best ending ngl. Minutemen running the show on top and receiving top of the line stuff from down below. Minutemen aren't afraid of the radiation or outsiders and can be great diplomats and a reliable watchman.
Pretty sure the Minutemen would have a problem with the Institute murdering people for eugenics purposes. The Minutemen’s entire ideology is “murder is wrong”

My belief would be that consedering DLC's are also canon Sole survivor in the end becomes an raider boss. Following that logic i believe that he/she sided with Instutude rebuilt the Minuteman but then joined raiders when everything becomed "not sensible" and i also believe the canon sole survivor is the male one due to he is an Anchorage Vet.
The story writing of FO4 was crap considering the previously established lore. It's a nice game, but I won't consider it as part of the canonical Fallout lore. To me it's the worst Fallout I have played (didn't play Tactics yet).

The Brotherhood is doing a lot of good, tho, by dealing with super mutants, raiders, ferals, etc. The best ending would be one in which the Minutemen and Brotherhood become buddies, but unfortunately, that's not possible.
The Brotherhood does care. The current East Coast Brotherhood under Maxson carries a mixture of Lyons ((protect the people, regardless of cost)) and West Coast Beliefs ((Preserve technology and destroy dangerous technology)). Ironically most people, even those who play the game, ignore the huge amounts of Lyons' Teachings that they do. They set up checkpoints to make the trade routes safer, made trade/protection agreements with settlements like Diamond City, openly trade non precious technology ((weapons, power, food production, etc)), go on purges of super mutants/feral ghouls, severely punish those in their ranks who try to be cunts to locals, etc etc.
They just view Gen 3 Synths as the ultimate infiltrator weapon that need to be destroyed. And they're not wrong. A Gen 3 synth can be programmed with sleeper protocols that even the synth itself is unaware of, with scavenged equipment. IE Dima programs Captain Avery to destroy Far Harbor should they ever attack Acadia or the Nucleus.

I was impressed by how well lit and clean everything in the institute was. The whole rest of the world is covered in a protective layer of grime and only one flickering lightbulb lighting the place.

Brotherhood doesn't hoard all the technology, the hoard technology deemed too dangerous for humanity. You don't have to agree with them but there's a difference.
The Institute also literally doesn't care about fixing the wasteland, they literally have made it worse and really done little to improve anything for those above them. Even with you taking leadership, there's no indication the rest of the institute will follow your direction and won't attempt to get rid of you if they don't like how you run things.

When I first played Fallout 4, I was going down the Minuteman route until I reached the Institute and I felt a natural nudge to go down that route with my son. I thought I would eventually get the choice down the road to dictate the Institute and like open it up or something to start cooperating with the surface. Man, was I disappointed.
The institute is the only faction that you really get to decide what their core focus will be. That, and their actual potential to move on from a life of the wasteland are why I immediately chose them when offered.

All the synth stuff was introduced in Fallout 3, and it’s the only thing that makes them different from other technologically advanced factions in Fallout besides the actually absolutely groundbreaking technology of basic sanitation practices.
I don’t think the writing makes the Institute seem valid, it just makes all the factions seem as useless as each other, all that really changes is what you want your main base to look like.
@@Serrifin the railroad and the slavery allegory was not introduced in fo3, unless I missed something? And main base or whatever is more gameplay and aesthetic based, in terms of the world the institute is just the right choice to make. They are one of the best bets for eventually restoring mankind and earth or at the very least carrying on the human race in a manner with actual advancements post bombs.

No, the slavery allegory and railroad introduced in Fallout 3. There was a quest in Rivet City called ‘The Replicated Man’ where you got evil karma for handing the synth to the Institute and good karma for not turning him in.
Also note that the only reason the Institute seems like the best bet for restoring the Commonwealth is because they literally killed everyone else. They were invited to help form the Commonwealth Provisional Government set up by the Minutemen and Settlement leaders, and then killed everyone. This led to the Minutemen and a ton of settlements collapsing, not to mention the Institute themselves is known to raid settlements or replace the people in charge with synths.
Father does say the Institute did this because they believed the CPG had too much infighting, but he also doesn’t believe Wastelanders deserve human rights and regularly has them killed, tortured, and experimented on. He also makes the Lone Wanderer the next leader out of nepotism.
TL;DR The Institute is the direct and/or indirect cause for literally all the problems in the Commonwealth, why would they want to fix any of it?

Kinda hard to find a neutral ground between what the Railroad sees as slavery and what the Brotherhood sees as an existential threat. What are ya gonna do, sentence the Synths to lifetime imprisonment and labor?
@@alpacalover0 I mean just stop production of synths? Or at least highly advanced ones(gen 3 and 4) gen 1 and 2 are basically just more advanced robots but honestly aren't even more effective at combat than some of the other combat robots.
@@HowlingDoom Gen 3s are valued by the Institute for infiltration, which they view as necessary since they view all other organized societies as potential threats to be infiltrated and controlled or utterly destroyed if not able to be manipulated. Gen 3s also are fully sustainable as opposed to Gen 1s and Gen 2s as Synth Components are made of plastic and Gen 3 Synths are made from DNA; plastics can be created using plant matter and of course growing a human doesn't take scavenging any outside precious metals. Phase 3 of the Institute's plan is total sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Nobody will ever trust them after 200 years of isolation, replacing people with synths, kidnapping people to force them to become super mutants, then releasing them back out. They’ve been so evil that there’s no chance the people of the commonwealth would ever want to work with them
