Even puts a red dot for them on your map or compass. what if we've been lied to..

All the technology revolves around it but most don’t realize unless you get max intelligence in game. Nano machines are everywhere and are making more of itself through radioactive materials. The information reappears in the Big Mountain DLC in Fallout New Vegas. Only the Enclave, 1 scientist at Big Mountain, level 50+ Pip-Boy users, and random characters know about this but no one knows how to modified the system. People only know how to modify or make technology that uses the system.
Fallout 76 also mentions it. The thing you have to understand about the Fallout world was that starting in the 1970’s the United States government started to make everything part of the “free market.” It is a libertarian’s wet dream. There are no government safety net and 99% of the country is in debt to the 1% which becomes the Enclave. The US government is behind in technology so it allows corporations to pick up the Slack. One corporation figures out how to turn sand into oil with nanotechnology, this company is hired for defense contracts and later the GECK system. The Enclave did not care about the nano machines technology until it started to help America to win the war. The system was turned out by the Enclave for 2 hours when the bombs dropped. It turned itself back on a year later. Fallout 2 ending is revenge for what happened in 2077 for the nano machines.

When you upgrade your perception high enough you can target their emotional weaknesses in VATS. Power armor doesn’t protect you from that.
Actually that's a Charisma perk, hence why no one in New Vegas discovered it.
