We have no idea what the context of the chat was, although I would think there are better, more private settings to meet if it's about the future. There is no doubt that it's time to move on from perimeter hockey for guys that live in the paint. If you look at the 4 teams left standing, they all drive the net and bang in garbage. How many guys of that ilk could we pay with $10,000,000? Does anyone else remember back when Babcock was coach playing the Bruins in the playoffs where Babs had Mitch blocking shots? I think there is no hope of that version of Mitch anymore but perhaps Chief will give him until March trade deadline to show he, is willing, that should apply to some other Princesses as well. Who's gonna replace the 100 points ? Without those extra 100 points , that may be the difference of the Leafs making the playoffs next year. You may have to wait an extra year , then make moves.

No team wants Marner anyway...he plays soft when it comes to the playoffs...like the rest of the Leafs team. Florida is in the final again because of toughness, not talent. The truly talented players, like the Oilers, can overcome most obstacles. The Leafs can never muster up the tenacity that is needed to win in the post season. I include Matthews in that list.

Mathews scored at his highest rate since entering the NHL without Marner on his line this year for almost 30 games. Wake up. Mathews plays a far more complete game, shows his playmaking ability and not only scores goals when away from Marner.

You know I do not feel comfortable with this team...more so Marner. For the last 4 seasons come play off time I see these guys esp Marner not play with enough adreniline or push to there game. Atypical of what you would expect from players. I wonder if team or certain players would throw games to gambling if they felt they weren't a legit cup contender or if they felt they would have to work too much to win? I think possible. Remember NHL 10 -15 years ago....scandal. Operation slapshot? Issues have happened. Marners play in playoffs are a big concern to me . I dont see a guy who seems 100% bought in to winning. Man remember right after last years playoff exit? Guy got jumped and SUV stolen. Maybe more to it then a random attack...Maybe the guy is involved in something. Hey man I do not feel comfortable at all with these guys...not just Marner. Even the game winning goal for Bos looked rigged in my opinion. I do not trust these guys anymore man!
