    Spent a lot of time building racing k4 engines as a lad and there are some very nice touches on this one. I still have a 250 engine I built as a one off with hand made high comp pistons and gas flowed head that would rev to 16k till the valves started bouncing. Nice work.

    Why the bearing cam chain tensioner and not a KA chain tensioner? I’m just curious as to how the bearings center the chain?

    • @linus2910
      @linus2910  Před 3 lety

      We tried several types of cam chain tensioners on cb 350. Among other, the KA tensioner. They all had in common that they wear out quickly on the race track. This was an attempt to solve the problem in a reasonable way, nor this solution is no better.

  • @terrythrelfall6304
    @terrythrelfall6304 Před 7 lety

    It looks like you made sleeve adapters to press into the center of a couple of unsealed roller bearings to use in place of the cam chain rollers? what O.D. are the 2 bearings you used? I may do the exact same thing as I cannot find any aftermarket rollers at a reasonable price.

    • @linus2910
      @linus2910  Před 7 lety

      Sorry, i don't remember the dimensions for the bearings. However I don't recommend this configuration for street use, make too much noise.

    • @linus2910

      My experience original rubber rollers do not survive high rew. Solid steel rolls could be better, but the chain should be replaced.

    Hi there.. restoring a 1968 250 here in Australia that I will be converting to a 350. Would you know if the webcams grind 358a would be okay in a warm street motor : www.webcamshafts.com/pages_vehicles/motorcycle/honda/340.html ? or should I go with a smaller grind. I will be running VM 30 carbs and a boyer electronic ignition with 1mm oversize exhaust and intake valves and some porting as well as 10.5 : 1 pistons.

      Oh ok... what front brake are you using? I've got a cb360 disc on mine, but it looks like you've got a twin piston brake on yours.. I was thinking of trying to adapt a 1982 cb350 nighthawk twin piston brake setup, but I'm sure a different caliper mount would need to be made..

      Due to the high pressure this engine has a copper head gasket. Copper gasket becomes rigid when used . The heating is to make it soft again.
