    Thank you so much for mentioning that after installation of the cam chain tensioner the marks will be slightly off from when the chain is slack. It was driving me crazy until I saw your video. No one ever mentions that. They probably don't even look!

    Do you put gasket maker on mating surfaces that have a gasket as well as those that do not? And, if you do put it where there is a gasket, do you put it on both sides of the gasket? One other thing, do you leave the cylinder studs in all through the cleaning or have you replaced them with new ones? Thank you so much for posting this. This is my first motorcycle rebuild and your video is very much appreciated.

      No, just the gaskets. With the newer gasket material it has better seal. Thanks for watching

    Sir. Did you also add some bond to the area were you added the furnace tape ? I just started to rebuild a 360 engine that was smoking and had some metal in the oil. It looks granular in substance. Thanks. Great video very helpful.

      No bond add just clean the area where it was placed. The furnace tape bonds pretty well. Thanks for watching

    Sorry to ask another question. How are the valve stem rubber seal replaced? Is there a special tool? Or do I just pry them off after I remove the small spring that goes around the rubber seal? Thanks

      No problem, I just get under the base of the seal, pray off with a screwdriver or two and the new stem seals should have the spring on them already. Make sure you lube end of the valve stem before installing the seals. Hope that helps.

    What do you use to get your parts so clean?

    • @outlaw86custom

      Brake cleaner from O'Reilly's or diesel that I have in my washdown tank. And sometimes the pressure washer. Thanks for watching

    How is the workability on this engine compared to the 650 XS engine?

    • @outlaw86custom
      @outlaw86custom  Před rokem +1

      Actually they are a simple engine to work on but they do have their quirks like all engines do. Thanks for the question
