- Here is a variation for those of you who don't care to weave the shank! Elton is a great ring and can be done with a bare shank too! Still one wire, all the same technique, this is how you close the sides without the weave and set the ring top for your stone. Much love! Let me know how you feel about this one... you can do finishing or see the whole Elton tutorial at this link...it's also linked at the end of the video. • Elton! Big Cabochon, R...
My Larimar stone in this variation is 1.5 inches long x .75 inches wide x 3mm thick. I'm using 28 inches of 18 gauge, soft, round, copper wire for the coiled frame. I'm using 2 x 14 inches of 26g weaving wire for the embellishment and finishing wrap. I hope you come to love this wire ring technique. It allows for a very sturdy capture of a large stone and makes a comfortable, substantial-feeling ring! You'll love wearing this on your finger and it's a wonderful way to use your larger stones for finger jewelry.

I'm always looking for a new design and this is a great and talented idea, thanks for this share. I am wondering, how are the projects named,,,Elton, Khemeia, etc...?
Thank you for your kind comment. Regarding how I name my projects... most artists who give tutorials will either name or number their tutorials so that we can reference them with you. For example... "can you help me find your wire ring"... leaves too many videos to look through... can you help me find your ring called Elton, leads me directly to a link that helps you immediately. This is the reason for a naming of tutorials. Mine are named based on many things... Elton because I was listening to Elton John as I built that :D ... regarding Khemeia... a loose definition might be to transform, while not actually at the molecular level, in this tutorial I show you how to change a design from being a ring for example, to a pendant if the ring didn't work out right. ;) I hope that helps.
That is awesome insight. Many thanks for that. This allows for more "compassion" as one attempts to replicate someone else's design. As move on through this journey, with my creations, the "Mitch" or the "Lasker" has a great ring ring to it 😁 Thanks for allowing me to perch on the shoulders of greatness.@@PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
I might have been watching a PBS special on Egypt or something then. :D
