Here is the perfect example why lance needs a dammage buff : Your run is just perfect, agressiv play style, not even hit once but still 7min when you can see 5min run with other weapon where people get hit multiple times and miss opportunities to make dammage. Congrats I think we won’t see a better lancer ala run for a long time.
@@breakthecode4634 you should try playing it first, not against jagras of course, foresight slash is 5x easier to use if not more. This is not a comfy weapon at all.
@@breakthecode4634 playing it while holding guard for 20 minutes is as comfy as it gets. Try solo vs elder dragon without palico, then tell me how you feel.
@@stanley1757 why does every mhw player act like they are the best at everything? I mained lance. No palico is the only way to go. And yes I soloed everything in the game no issue with it. Even killed alatreon 2nd try. Get over yourself mate.
As a Lance main, I can tell you that the match up is kind of good but actually pretty tough and this player is amazingly good with the headlock/blocking/positioning.
Definitely not the easiest match up against alatreon because ice and fire aoe that are not a problem with other weapons are a pain. And the lack of dammage is still a problem too
The main motivation that's argued is that TA tries to capture the "true essence" of MH, learning the monster in-and-out, while Freestyle is generally more cheesy (you have so many tools you can control the monster from start to finish). But for the specific case of Lance imo it's just that we don't gain that much doing Freestyle over TA anyway, Lance might be the less abusive/cheesy weapon in the game. Might as well do TA runs.
I don't understand how people are doing this?? I have guard 5 constitution 5 and when I block or try to parry I lose all stamina and half my health? This guy's blocks and parrys not a scratch??
If you actually have Guard 5, it should not happen. Also, you need to remember that some of the alatreon's attacks (especially the breaths) can only be blocked with the Guard Up skill. Furthermore, even with G5 some attacks will eat your hp so you need a health regen.
not sure if this changed in world or iceborne (it's become a reflex so I don't notice anymore), but if you stay stationary while holding guard your stamina does not recover. You need to walk while holding guard to let your stamina recover. The big slam attack is not guardable even with guard up and will cause you to fall onto the floor. That's why in the video he evades instead of blocking it.
@@endolori it did not change. You need to move to recuperate some stamina if you hold guard. The big slam can be guarded wit the power guard even on G3 but de the animation is too long, it's faster to dodge it and that's why he does it.

I would counter that lance is a comfy weapon in comparison. Therefore should definitely not be as strong as other weapons. Ever.

Just saw String raving about this run on Phemeto's Loading Screen podcast. Have to agree, this is phenomenal.
Great run! Nice to see someone actually fight Alatreon when its in the air and get the elemental topple instead of resorting to smoke bombs.

You gotta utilise the guard dashes, it mitigates knockback for low and medium but not severe knockback, and yes, some attacks are too strong to guard
