This was so epic, lance is legit my favourite side weapon then sns and it really irritates me when people talk shit about lance all the time. In my opinion GS is the best weapon but lance is a very close second also its just extremely fun to do the dash attack

You can block it safely with Guard Up but you'll get large knockback on all of the hits. It's better to move out of the way, heal through it, or use claw (only works on ice version).

Also if you happen to be going for a 'safer' build, you can also just tank through it, depending on your resistances and health. Wouldn't recommend unless you know what you're doing though.
Alatreon has a *ton* of moves that just keep pushing you away at guard 5, you need to learn the proper response for each otherwise you get very harshly punished and strangely enough, even though I use guard up religiously, the fight actually was easier without it, for me (I accidentally didn't slot it in one time and boom).

You can also power guard backwards and use the knock back to travel back to the monsters face if you make a mistake.

Could you please explain to me how did you counter these three attacks in a row at 1:54? Whenever I try to counter two attacks in a row (R2 + Circle) the second attack does not have counter properties.

Thanks! You can chain counter thrust to another counter if you successfully block something with it. This only works for the normal counter and not power guard counter.

I picked up lance recently.. After seeing this I don't think I'll ever put it down. Your damage was insane for a lance. Did you have hp regen Aug on your lance there?

@@project3556 after having to wait still for a whole second. We already do less damage, restricting ourselves to always having to predict ahead of time and then not doing anything for a whole second to guard most things is pretty bad.

You can counter guard after a successful counter attack, so as long as things are hitting you while in a counter stance you'll get another chance to counter attack again

@@heliopyre heavy guard gets guard up after a second. When you first use it you see a light blue flash a second later you see a second darker flash. That's guard up.

@@Mxm.m Attack is better for damage on Alatreon, but element lets you get the topple faster. It's a very small difference though so you don't really need to change it. I'm using all attack parts here.
