Love to see more classic, pulses have a -2 to hit and each SRM location is rolled separately not in groups of five damage.
The Highlander IIC is the clan version of the Highlander (that is what the IIC signifies). Definitely would have been difficult to get as salvage...
The wraith is a 3055 mech
That battlemaster is a 3062 varient
The wolverine is a 3050 fed suns varient.
It's fine if the battle is happening in the 60s.
I'm helping. 😜
one thing about BT fans.. they'll let you know when you're wrong... and you are always wrong about something.
SRM's do not group damage each missile is an individual hit to roll location for. (same with LBX cluster shots) LRM's DO cluster in groups of five or less
Nice a 2v2, we play a lot like that here at home. Good match.
Y’all managed to hit me in the feels with talking about the fact that you have to ignore messages to get a game in.
We were really doing the thing in this video. Shipping that content.
Awesome more battletech, and a highlander burial added in...shame you didn't exit in bagpipes for that roll.
All those painted mechs on the side are such a tease!
A death from above attack abides by the charging rules in that it takes such concentration to try to pull it off that the pilot can't take the time to aim and fire weapons
Love it, I have only played Alpha Strike since getting back into Battletech, seeing this game makes me want to dust off the classic rules the next time I'm in the mood. The 3D terrain is a real bonus too.
Great stuff! Haven’t seen any CBT in a while.
Talking of making the battlefield look more realistic, I got some Toyota pickups (and some modern military vehicles I’ll do in house colours anyway), in a scale suitable for BT to use as terrain and scenery from heroicsandros, nice and cheaply. I figure in 3025 there are still Toyota pickup trucks. I also got some tiny plastic I-beams and made barriers and mech-sized Czech hedgehogs.
Gorgeous table and if you're piloting a Highlander I think DFAs are mandatory regardless of whether or not they're a good idea. Thunderhead Studios does make forest and rough terrain STLs for BattleTech, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for another collab with GF9 to expand the physical HexTech line.
Great!
Thank you so much!!!!
jump of 7 = +4 TMM jump of 3 = +2 TMM, all jumps add +1 to the TMM distance when compared to walking
...still miss the old intro music :(
Hey Ash love your videos keep up the great content. I don't know if you all were using the pulse laser accuracy bonus's. but pulse lasers are great upgrades but expensive, and heat hungry.
Did I miss the DFA attacker taking his tonnage/5 damage on the kick location table?
Wolverine, "HEADSHOT!!!"
Highlander, "Oh, sorry, little buddy, were you trying to attract my attention?"
This was a good, fun game. I normally find classic Battletech a bit dry; but when this turned in to a boozy, back alley brawl, I warmed to it.
umm did you guys add Gunnery to the modifiers to hit by 14 min I haven't heard them mentioned when figuring out hit mods
streak SRM's only fire if they hit, which means if they do not hit, they do not subtrack heat or ammo, which means you almost always want to fire them! No worries though classic battletech has a billion rules.
Also if they hit all misiles hit, no cluster table roll needed.
Really enjoying Battletech and the content!
When the gauss ammo cooked off, should the Mechwarrior have taken 2 points of damage?
Where do you get the sheets of the individual mechs? Is there a website for it?
The snake eyes hit is a chance at a crit not a guarantee. You rolled 10 so it should have been 2 crits not just one. When you roll for chance to crit 8,9 is one crit, 10,11 is two crits and 12 is three crits. Also if you DFA, Charge, or Push you can't fire any weapons from that mech that turn. If your DFAing a down target or kicking a prone target you hit on the full 2d6 table not the punch table
after the wraith jumped to the lvl3 hill he should not be able see and fire on the Battlemaster because he is in total cover from the level 2 between them so basically the mechs are 2 level high and can hide behind a level 2 if they are on ground level
I was gonna say that 17:30 the legs would be in cover, but yes, I think the whole mech is hidden
any chance we could see a cBT campaign following a merc company?
You guys know there's Rules for things with descriptors like 'Pulse', 'Ultra', 'Streak', 'Artemis' & whatnot right?!?!?!
Serious question; Did you prep &/or refresh on the Rules? Or did you not even care about getting things right? You actually got more wrong than right...
when propping your self up to fire an arm weapon the arm your using to lift your self up cant fire its weapons so I'm not sure those small pulses could be used
What map mat is this?
Well i often mix battletech with dropzone commander.. they have decent terrain and fun models for infantry and Tanks and aerospace assets... Battletech itself is a bit lacking in that department sadly
Sorry, it's hard to hear the battle report with so much crunch in the rules.
so many rules ...... Streak missile's don't roll for cluster they're all or nothing weapons you either hit with everything or they don't fire
I might be wrong but ...
The thing about the streak SRMs is that all missles hit, isnt it?
For SRMs, the missiles are rolled individually with 2 damage per missile. Not in packs of five like LRMs.
Pulse lasers got a -2 to hit.
Even a simple turn in the movement phase also results in a +1 modifier due to movement.
Roll to hit, then roll to see how many hit. from memory
@@Avtarangel Oh sorry, Sir! I was some kind of ironic. I play BT for 30 years. As @JRufu commented: "one thing about BT fans.. they'll let you know when you're wrong... and you are always wrong about something." This is absolutely true! :D
For SRMs you roll the cluster table as normal. The hit location will be rolled individually for each single missle. (Ash did this wrong - not only in this BT vid - He divides the damage into packs of 5 like LRMs.)
This rule exists since ever. To be honest, the rules haven't changed that much in 35 years of BT! (rules for partial cover, vehicle crits and melee attacks had adjustments as far as I know)
If a Streak SRM hits, you do NOT roll on the cluster table. (Ash rolled on the cluster table every single time. My inner Monk has a hard time dealing with this.) All missles hit (you still roll each single missle on the hit location table).
And many more ...
Nethertheless Ash, Sir! I love watching you play games!
warm regards
its impossible to play a game of classic battletech and get every rule right haha.
Play Classic. Hexless. You’ll never regret it.
Wait, Battletech and no Jay. I feel so let down
The sheer volume of rules corrections in the comments reminds me why Alpha Strike is our preferred rule set.
I feel like a real heel poke my nose in to bring up rules ..... ugh
Please get a better camera setup
