    It feels weird to people because people are weird, not the clubs. Imagine if one length irons were standard and multi length irons came out. People would think its ridiculous to have a different swing for every club.

    I’ve started playing this year for the first time since I was a kid and upgraded some old Big Bertha irons to the Cobra One Length system. I’m really enjoying them compared to standard clubs. Is a bit of a strange thing looking down at the wedges. But the best thing is the hybrids, being closer to the ball gives me a lot of confidence, and then using them around the green for chip/ bump and run shots is almost like putting!

    I upgraded my F8 one length set to the Forged Tech versions this past summer. I’m so sold on the one length irons, and hybrids, and my game has improved so much, that a ton of players that I play with are starting to change. It took a while to get used to them, but having one swing for the majority of my bag is just brilliant. I agree the forged tech flighting is quite a bit different then the older F7, F8, F9’s. They fly more consistently and I get quite a bit more bite on the greens.

    It's always interesting to hear that the wedges give people problems. I love the wedges. My GW, really high and landing soft really suits me. My biggest issue starting was the 5 iron and feeling like I had to step on it to get it to go. Once I got my brain to override what my eyes were seeing and let the club do it's job, it does what my standard length 5 iron would do. I'll admit I've lost 3-5yds of carry per iron, but that may have happened anyway since I'm now in my 50s.

But the 6 would also only go 150 yards and i couldnt even hit the 5..but when i did..it would only go 150yds. So i got rid of them. But the consistency and feel of the shorter clubs was incredible. 35 degrees Celsius this time of year? That's way too hot for any time of the year, let alone October/November (in my humble opinion). Great video as always Mr. Finch. An honest review and you even managed to get Carter in there for a lovely match. We appreciate it, as always.
    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

    Bought a set of Cobra F Max one length irons 5-SW a couple of weeks ago. 3 rounds in and I've shot my best round ever by some distance.
    Interestingly I've found the high irons the best improvement, although I've definitely been better across all of them.
    My confidence is up big time. The fact that I know it's the same address and swing all the time has removed so much complexity, allowing me to concentrate on ball strike. It's really paying off.
    Low handicappers and Pros can get a bit sniffy about height & gapping etc.. but for a high/mid handicapper like me (16) I'm over the moon hitting consistently and straight. I am finding my time is now taken up by the smaller things, which make the difference between an average round and a good one.
    Still getting used to knowing my distances, but that means I can improve even further quickly (at least that's the idea)
    You still have swing well, but just having the one swing is amazing.
    I did try a one length hybrid, for some reason I couldn't hit it. Ball wouldn't go in the air. Swapped to normal length and things are much better. But I believe the confidence with my irons is beneficial to my driving and hybrid play. I feel really good.
    Only 3 rounds in, I know. It could still go horribly wrong, but I've never been this excited about my golf like now.
    Footnote- I went for superlite graphite shafts as I have low swing which means slower club head speed. At the moment it's proven a great decision.
    Get involved, if you're a average club golfer this technology could really be a positive game changer.
    10 years from now, Bryson and Cobra won't be on their own on the PGA with one length. 💯

    I'd be intrigued to try the same length irons, my iron play is very sporadic lately (all over the place 😂😂) great video as ever Pete, had me chuckling away again with your comments 😂😂

    Very interesting, I'd be happy to give up distance with the long irons for consistency. I have a 4 and a 2 hybrid that I much rather hit then a 3 and a 4 iron standard length. I'm 6.6 and all my clubs are +1 also including my wedges so the long P wedge won't feel too far out.

    I like the idea of these, im going to change my 4,5,6 iron shafts to a 7 iron shaft as I'm comfortable from 7 up, just to see how that goes for me.

  • @jonathanashleythomas3247

    i play fmax one length and its the best decision i have ever made i now play of 18 and i think these irons are a huge contribution to me dropping from a 22

    I'm using the Cobra F7 onelength irons, first generation thus. I particularly use the irons from GW up to 7 actually. And happy with them. The 50 deg GW is thus 2 inch longer than a regular 50 deg GW but I'm not even thinking about that anymore and I hit it fine, typical distance 100m (110 yards). When I warm up I typically only hit the GW and 9 iron, or just only PW, and that's enough, as they are all same length anyway. I do think that, despite the same length, a 5-iron is hit differently than a GW, but as I use GW-7 iron, that's not such a big difference for me

    Another great video Mr Finch. Would you consider using the wee white circle round the golf ball when it gets to the green like golfholics? Helps us old guys with bad eyes...Thanks P

      There is more to One Length than just shaft length. Lie angles are same as 7. Lofts are different from standard. Clubhead weight is all the same. Plus swing weight for clubs are all the same.

    I started golfing about 5 years ago and wondered why there were so many lengths of clubs. It's a bit crazy if you ask me. I do all kinds of shots playing soccer, and I don't change the length of my leg.

  • @newthplace
    @newthplace Před 3 lety

    That's where I reckon the 'one length' idea could gather appeal, Peter; have the one length to 7 iron, then back to normal lengths coming in to wedge. From 7 to wedge in a traditional set, it is only an inch and a quarter, to memory.

  • @CivSkates

  • @ritchiestringer3711

    The same length club has become a trend for sure. Personally I'd like to try it from 4-7 iron with the standard length 8-sw. I just feel like I'd find my swing more confidently with the lower lofted clubs and therefore play with a bit more consistency. That said I typically use my woods (driver,3,4-hybrid) and 7-sw for most holes (with an occasional 6 iron for a 170ish par 3) so it that could open up some opportunities to play some shots a bit differently.

  • @jessehudson3377
    @jessehudson3377 Před 3 lety

    So the answer that I have found to make these really good is to play them four through seven one length and then eight iron down the pitching wedge you just get the standard iron progressive. Rarely does anybody need help with the short irons it's always the long irons so I'm making seven through four one iron gives you all the benefits there and none of the problems with the short irons
