He exaggerates but he is generally accurate. The south is more sophisticated and wealthier and he is really just talki9ng about England, not the whole UK. In Scotland and Wales they are different again. I wouldn't have noticed your hair had you not said anything. It looks great, girl.
No, he said âmixedâ with people expecting it to be different races but he sarcastically meant it as North and South. I guess there is differences but he meant it jokingly.

In the North strangers smile at & talk to each other : & you can make a friend for life at the bus stop. In the South , you never ever make eye contact with anyone you dont know & regard them with extreme suspicion. ( I moved South after growing up in the North).
Same here. After moving South, l got married, lived there for 28yrs & moved back North after the divorce. Loved my life down there but the people up here are more friendly

Hey Ashley, so my mother was from Scotland, but raised in Berwick (literally the most northern English town) and she was hard as nails. Never took sh!t from anyone and would defend her friends and family like a she-wolf. My wife is from Portsmouth (literally one of the most southerly cities, next stop is France) and she does not have the same killer instinct my Mother had, but by God, if you cross her family, she is my mother reincarnate. Southern woman and Northern woman are the same when it counts. Both brilliant, warm, loving and attentive, but cross themâŠ.. đłđłđł. Love your channel.

Northerners are a lot more friendly compared to southern , southern are often a lot more shallow when compared to northerners . Lived both north and south and there is no competition.

Yes, the women 'up north' attract a lot of stereotypes. It was the place that made Rome turn back! Coming from the North East coast - it might be because we had all the heavy industry up north and women got to work in factories or (where I'm from) the Herring docks. Freezing cold, wet, and arm deep in fish innards all day. We're almost mythically tough. We're probably seen as more than a little Celtic and/or Hibernal.
The old trope is that on a Saturday night, in Newcastle, it can be in the depths of winter and the women are scantily dressed because we just don't feel the cold like other women. This is partially true, I think, and everybody I know cannot stand how cold I am comfortable at and I wilt in central heating. It might be because we are descended from long lines of those women standing dockside gutting fish in all seasons.
The southern woman, by contrast, is often viewed as more along the lines of a David Lean type beer-house keeper. Rural. Lots of cooking and clucking. Cheerful and plump. They're extreme archetypes. It's never the whole story.

Hey Ashley...there's a lot of banter between Southerners and Northerners. I grew up in the North but have lived in the South for just over a decade. Lot's of stereotypes used.

He was just making a joke with the mixed thing. Although the U.K. has the highest rate of mixed (as you would think of it) relationships in the world. But in a way you were right class is a much bigger thing here than race

It may be grim up north because the south constantly removes our wealth. But we are friendly and approachable, and yes you can easily make a friend out of a stranger at the bus stop very easily. His show Live at the Electric (2012-2014) was one of the first shows I saw him in, and that was one of the unfunniest and worst shows of all time.
Everything else I've seen him in since, he has been just as unfunny.
