You should have gone to the north east, us southerners are amateurs compared to them, I worked there for 5 years, one bloke would sink a pint while the barmaid was pouring his next one.
We had 2 French guys on a years secondment at my work. They loved the drink culture so much they didn't want to go back to France .... The French drink , but they don't binge drink like we do .

@@dcmastermindfirst9418 Because geographically its not easy or cheap for us. It takes hours just to make it outside the US because the country is so damn big and its very expensive having to pay for the plane tickets and hotels. It was an 18 hour flight for me to make it from the west coast to Madrid and it cost me $2,000 for round trip plane tickets and another $6,000 for all the other travel expenses to be in Spain and Italy for 2 months.
@@AntoineM1312indeed. I hate the snobbery of those who criticise Americans or people from other countries for that matter, who don't travel. Not everyone has the money to jet off to wherever they want to. And with the experts warning us about global warming its maybe just as well. We may think its a small world but it does take time and money to explore it

I was really thinking about what you said last night mate and I thought maybe I should change and be a little more Italian and a little less British (English really)
But then I received a wasapp from a middle aged Italian guy (about 60 actually) who looked like a bank manager and he was drinking, smoking, sniffing and dancing in his kitchen!

Extremes come up when you no longer have a place to go to or no longer know how to get there. All over Europe you'll find people who end up in extremist positions, just because they know no better. Not a majority, but a fairly good bunch of them.
I think we should have designated bus stops for smashing and pissing, and it's required that for every pub there has to be at least 2 within 200 yards and if there is 3 or more pubs within half a mile of each other you have to have at least (number of pubs) x 2(+number of pubs),there must also be dedicated busy stop repair teams on standby during busy periods and on call within half an hour in quiet periods, the bust stops must be painted in high visibility paint to help guide the drunk people to it,
this will provide public facilities, encourage business growth for the dying pub trade and provide jobs for the local community

...Binge drinking is hardly a phenomenon exclusive to Brits, most Nordic countries do it too. I will concede Brits seem a lot worse at holding their drink, though.
