These days Jimmy Perez is better known from the TV series 'Shetland' than from his radio incarnation (though of course he is most likely best-known to readers of Ann Cleeves novels). Shetland is perhaps a British equivalent to the Scandi-Noir dramas of recent times, detective dramas steeped in the atmosphere and darkness of The North... This one is ostensibly a straightforward crime drama, but no story set during a Shetland winter can be entirely untouched by a Gothic mood...
