Until you stand in front of them waiting for the concert to begin time seems to move so slowly . However when they do come on stage it all becomes a beautiful blending of so many sensations . Band Maid is the real deal

Their talent and songwriting transcends spoken language. If you had told me two years ago, I'd be listening to a Japanese band and so quickly love their music more than I had ever loved music before I would have laughed at the idea. And tbh, I had a hard time believing it was real when I first _saw_ them after obsessing over two songs for two days. I told myself, "They can't be _that_ instrumentally talented and yet silly enough to wear maid outfits and yet also write the best song in every subgenre of rock that I grew up on as a teen. Certainly most of these are cover songs right? This is a greatest hits collection from 12 different bands. There's no way one band wrote all these different songs that also sound hardly anything alike." Finding the best band tailor made for you doesn't happen at 35. And then find out later after listening to all their singles that half of my top favorite songs are album deep cuts. I only wish that I had known about them sooner. I will always be eternally grateful for these wonderful ladies and the joy they have brought me.
I discovered Band-Maid feb22 and I'm thinking that if I'd discovered them 5 years ago, would they have had the same impact on me back then? I belive I discovered them exactly when I needed to.
@@sugaanessena3143 I can understand that and appreciate that perspective. As someone who has been overly cynical over western music especially rock and the lackthereof, and fell out of love with music for several years, thinking that 99% of my favorite music had already been heard and there was little to look forward to because no one was making the music that I grew up on, I can say with a fair bit of confidence I would have been hooked anytime from New Beginning on. At the very least, the people around me would have probably appreciated them for the fact it would have saved them a few bitter and jaded rants about new music during that time lol.
I would call it a wish, but not a regret.😊

There's a pretty significant Mexican fanbase for them (their first big performance outside of Japan was in Mexico). They also have a European fanbase, but I think it's harder for them to tour there and thus harder to grow that fanbase.
Great pairing of songs! Really shows the range of these amazing ladies, blues rock to speed rock, so cool! Lock down online performance, yes, but they still kill it! True live is better, but, any Band-Maid performance is stellar!
I really like Black Hole. It took me some time, but I eventually got into the groove of this VERY different song.
Manners is just a banger from the beginning. Groove central! And the OMV is really good looking! Don't miss it! 😉

I agree with you, I think their musicianship helps overcome the language barrier. It may sound weird, but after a while, the fact they are singing in Japanese doesn’t really reduce your enjoyment of the music. They have two songs that are completely in English, both are pretty good, but neither rank at the top for most English speaking fans.
Of note , if you listen real close at about 5:07 or so you can hear HORNS on a backing track.....actually is something different for Kanami.......I'm also like you on the sub titled thing......I agree with you also about the phones....they dont do that in Japan with the phones
