Regarding 'Black Hole'. Its their fastest song (so far). Kanami (Lead guitar & composer) asked Akane how fast she could drum. Akane said around 190 -200 bpm. So Kanami wrote Black Hole at 220 bpm! Then Akane went to work on the drum patterns for the song. She came up with 7 choices which she labelled
    1. Easy
    2. Comfortable
    3. Normal
    4. Possible if I work hard
    5. Tough
    6. Painful
    7. Hell
    The band chose Hell.

It blew me away during the stream last year that they unpacked 'Black Hole' as the penultimate song of this 2 hour show and rocked it, so disciplined and perfect. Unfortunately, some scenes were replaced for this video here, where you could see Akane laughing and having the time of her life behind the drums for almost the entire song, which is insane from my point of view, given the "hellish" tempo. :) Right after that (the transition was cut here) they performed their fun live song 'Freedom' where they moved freely through the whole set, just having tons of fun and making the technicians, camera people's and Miku's lives a living hell. :) It was also a nice contrast to what they had played before with 'Black Hole'. 😎🤘🏻
If only there was a way I could send you a link to some videos that you won't find here on YT. 😇 (*cough... a short mail via my profile would be enough. 😉)

Regarding their way of composing, it has always seemed to me that it is kaleidoscopic. Various beautiful little pieces that are combined differently throughout the song, so that every time you turn the device (verses, choruses, bridge, solos...) you get a new and amazing image. Each of the instruments, including the vocals, do not stop changing every few bars, that's why it seems like chaos, but after several listens, order is found. And then everything makes sense and it's wonderful.

Manners is like 70s groove rock meets the 2020s and Black Hole is like punk rock meets speed metal with prog elements. The entire album both of these songs are from has these huge jumps in style, feel and approach and yet it all just works. Apart from showcasing their instrumental ability it is also a massive display of songwriting skill. Also, Miku's work on the lyrics is very rarely pointed out but I think it's her biggest contribution to the overall work of putting a song together, even despite her gradually turning into a great rhythm guitarist and already being an awesome second vocalist.

But to say that they are a genre by themselves... seems a bit exaggerated to me... not only because of their sound, which has many recognizable influences (pop, punk, funk, jazz, hard-rock, metal, math, progg)... but also because their sound has traces of artists from the 80s, like the early Show-Ya: czcams.com/video/1xsOCtK7Jt0/video.html
Another bit reminds me of bands from the early 2000s, like the almost unknown Aphasia❤: czcams.com/video/TTjxpzHXYB8/video.html or the well-known Siam Shade👌: czcams.com/video/yzmYhiccWrE/video.html
