      Tom Kruze, great points in calling out Blackrock and Vanguard. I am so disappointed in Vanguard using its mutual fund and ETF share votes to push the DEI mandates on corporations. I don't know about Blackrock's history and culture. I read they were the pioneers in using shareholder votes to push corporations on Sustainability, and DEI policies, but Vanguard never would have done something like this if Jack Bogle were alive and still ran Vanguard. I have whistled down my holdings at Vanguard and will move the little I have left there before year end. To be honest, I am not sure how much pushing Bob Iger required.

      The only issue will be, Disney is in bed with Woke… so if it had to sell off IP’s they’d go into the hands of other Woke companies because Disney will accept lower bids to stay true to ‘The Message’

      @randychestnut6591 Před 11 dny

      There is a lot about Disney that I don't like under Iger's leadership, but they are not a monopoly. A monopoly would not show a loss in revenue or as big a decline in its share price from angering its client base. Customers do still have a choice to visit other theme parks, take other cruise lines, watch different television channels and view movies from other studios. A monopoly has no competition. Disney certainly does. My family still respects the Disney Cruise Line, but it's $$$. We are hopeful for Universal's Epic Universe doing well and want to visit there. We love Dollywood. Thankfully, we still have choices. We used to love Disney. We don't trust them now to make suitable content for our young family members.

      @@randychestnut6591 respectfully Disney is the only choice for family entertainment content. And with their purchases of Fox, and a host of other franchises it has gotten far to large. And monopoly doesn’t mean only, monopoly by laws definition is having legitimate competition in a space aka (alternatives )and in Disney’s case their really are known. They have bought out all relevant competition Pixar, Lucasfilm, and they have even moved into other spaces like ESPN where u can’t escape their influence.

    But Ariel found the fork when she was eight years old and called it a dinglehopper herself without Scuttle even being in the picture, and she went to Ursula for help figuring out what makes Atlantica so special to do a song on it! And Disney also finally opened a reteheme of a beloved ride, and the new one keeps breaking down but hey, that's what folks wanted, right? And they also have their own Loud House coming, only this time with a Hispanic family (never mind that the Casagrandes already exists), coming in July! Not to mention Mustard and Ketchup who for some reason forgot their friend Moon Knight who would be mayonaisse.
    And they also introduced witches to Car Wars and are bringing more witches to Marvel! Plus they have a billion dollar film out, and their parks are not bringing people in, everything/s going great for them, isn't it? Plus just six weeks till the BIG REVEAL of what exactly they have to go up against Epic Universe with!

      You know, a Wolverine and Moon Knight team-up doesn’t sound half bad. Throw in Ghost Rider, Daredevil and a non-compromised-by-woke Blade, and we could have an MCU take on the Midnight Sons.

    You said it truly when you said Disney World didn't get the best when it came to money spent. I was there last year, and there were rides that were closed the entire time we were there (four days) and others that shut down while we were on them. One ride down, fine. But several rides down in every park!? That is a horrible sign. China is a sink, and Iger is a buffoon for believing he could make that money back, even if nothing else happens in the world. They need, desperately, to start spending more money there on maintenance.
    I loved staying there. I think the people are great, and the two parades we saw were neat. The fireworks always amaze. But the rides neeeeeed to be fixed.

      Disney Castmembers are still appreciated by the Guests, because they still care and try hard to make for a nice experience. Disney's senior leadership is where the failure is occurring. They are the ones pushing the extreme political narrative and approving the half-baked movie and show scripts that have no appeal to the buying public. Get rid of Iger and a few other senior leaders, start replacing the so-so writers and creators and you will see Disney start to come back. Disney has embraced all elements of DEI in its creative content, which people aren't buying, as well as in all of its key personnel decisions. They need to return to Walt's vision of hiring based on merit.

    Building properties in a communist county is beyond crazy, at any second the government can take it all away. No matter what agreements you have. If the government changes, good luck.

    Excluding China's island ambitions outside their borders, their economy is doing very badly. Decades of cheap building and bad business practices are causing their economy to have some real problems. Infrastructure is collapsing, their technology is exclusively poor copies of western inventions, and Apple and other major companies have shut down facilities to move production to India and Vietnam. Nike and Disney can't actually plan to make money there. Furthermore, finally Europe and America have finally realized that China's actions are not beneficial (Everything from Chinese police stations and land ownership in America to flooding Europe with poor quality EVs to the trade war to Tiktok). China is not the investment opportunity it was 15 years ago and most investors know that. Disney/Nike pinning hopes on China for their future is something any halfway decent investor on Wall St. would raise their eyebrows at and that's all without looking at their recent actions towards their island neighbors.

    If you think a 2.8% drop in one day and $100 per share is somehow special then you don't know much about stocks. For example, Disney is still up 10% since the start of the year.

      I think you are generally correct the question is where does it go from here. Cause it’s been recently going down and it’s been going down since the vote. And Disney on paper right now should be looking good. New ride open at Disney World and Inside Out 2 doing well, but it’s dropping.
      I don’t get the stock market but this should be when Disney does alright or at least holds. And to be honest the same goes for Nike since the Olympics are coming even if everyone hates their uniforms. But Nike’s latest lawsuit is kind of ugly if it goes anywhere.

      Because that's what the company calls itself. Who cares what some Limey thinks? But I'll humor you. Nike in Greek is Νίκη. Copy that into a Greek to English Translator online with the ability to speak what you type in. Sounds like Neek E. You going to rag on THEIR word that THEY created? The company took the word and dumped the η. Nike was used in the 50s by the US military for a missile. The word means Victory.
