Bob Iger's days as Disney's CEO are numbered. It won't be long before he and the other board members are gone for good. Iger will be replaced by Musk, and Disney will start to change for the better.

I was at Epcot today and once again it looked like it was at about 15% capacity. This might be a dream come true for first timers who want to ride everything but for a regular it is eerie and boring. I also notice in the shops there were small crowds of people looking at all the flashy items but the cashiers looked like the maytag repair man sitting bored with nobody buying anything. The next earnings call is going to be a financial bloodbath.

Yup, my last trip to Disneyland was just over 2 years ago, I saw first hand what Genie+ was doing, lines were short yet really long to get through, counting at least 5 Lightning Lane guests get escorted through for every 1 standby line at the merge point on literally every ride that had both I went on, being able to do the math and see that at least 83% of the ride capacity is being reserved for Lightning Lane (5 divided by 6), and I want no f***ing part of that.

I really look to your videos for the true happenings with Disney. Thank you! My wife and I used to go several times a year from our home state of Michigan. I’ve been a Disney Kid my entire life. I’m now 61! And I couldn’t be more upset with the current leadership of Disney. It’s been a fiasco since I’d say around 2018 and on. We started to slow down on our trips there and cut back more and more each year. It pains us to take such action as my wife of 38 years was also raised on the wholesome good and Magic of Disney. We started taking our kids when they were little tykes and now have been taking our grandkids but even that has slowed drastically. We started taking trips out west to see the country and it’s more wholesome people and places and putting those 10-15,000 per trip into those trips instead and we have actually found more happiness out there then in Florida or Anaheim(I’ve always loved the nostalgia of Disneyland over Florida parks but started out at Florida parks as a kid so they too hold great memories for me. My wife visited the Florida Parks as a kid with her family as well and even briefly lived in that area before she like me joined the Armu after college and we met in 1986 as young 20’s something and never looked back. We still love Disney in our hearts because of what was, but no longer for what is. We discuss this probably 3-4 times per week and it always evolves around disappointment. We currently only have one more trip planned there in Florida and that’s not until late October 2025 with two of our younger Grandchildren who were just too young before. We go for 2 1/2 weeks and as you can imagine, throwing in all the Disney Parks and both Universals plus Sea World Discovery Cove, and we as one trips lay down more than 15,000 easy. We fly as well/rental car, dine out everyday, etc. we can save so much money by taking our road trips out to Yellowstone/Tetons/Glacier/Roosevelt/etc staying in the top hotels available along the way/eating at fine restaurants (when available) and still only spend approx 5-6,000 on a two
Week excursion. See so much new and interesting places we all have heard of but never saw in person. We have been to Disney so
Much what is there to see that hasn’t been seen before? Not worth the cost, hassle of the airports, crowded places, extreme heat at times, etc etc.

In the mid 80s thru the mid 90s, I was financially doing extremely well, and I was single. I brought my parents, grandmothers, nieces, nephews, siblings and friends to Walt Disney World. I went multiple times a year, every year and always stayed on the property at every Disney accommodation. The busiest times included mid-June through mid-August, especially Independence Day. The best time to go year-round was from the Monday after thanksgiving weekend through the weekend prior to the week before Christmas Eve. The first week of December being the absolute best. The video of Main Street looked like it was the first week of December minus Christmas decorations. Very sad.

The fundamentals of a theme park IS THE THEME! If your "theme" is popular you get the visitors, sell the merchandise and get the dollars. If people are not watching your movies and shows then no sales and no visitors to the parks. 15 years ago crowds of kids would be waving at characters dressed as princesses, Iron Man and Darth Vader. Who would wave at Wendy, Asha, Captain Marvel and Ahsoka? Probably choosing a different "theme" and wave at minions or Pikachu.

Disneyland is having the same problem. I saw a youtube video on July 10 where the guy said it was not crowded at all in Disneyland. Some of the rides were a five minute walk-on and the longest wait times were 30 to 45 minutes for some of the most popular rides. He said the weather was nice, 85 degrees with a nice breeze, no humidity, he ate at Carnation Plaza and said the food was good and it did look good. Two of the rides he went on broke down while he was on them, the Mark Twain boat and Pirates of the Caribbean. The Mark Twain broke down in front of Tom Sawyers Island and blocked the raft, so people were stuck on the island for a while. He said they were on the boat for an hour before they could get off, but he was given a Magical pass, like a Fastpass where he would not have to wait in line, but only for certain rides. He used it to go on Big Thunder Railroad. He said there was no compensation given for being stuck on Pirates and didn't say how long it was. He did say at the end that it was one of the best days he had at Disneyland. Considering how nice it seemed to be, the only reason I could think of as to why it wasn't crowded was because it is still too damn expensive.

Why is Disney World empty? The answer is obvious, it's too damn expensive for most people to afford. Personally, Orlando is too hot & humid, Disney World has notoriously long wait times, it's complicated having to plan practically everything ahead of time, like making restaurant reservations six months ahead, trying to get into a virtual ride queue or paying extra for Genie+ or Lightning Lane in order not to have to wait in long ride lines, plus the food is not good. Why would anyone want to pay so much money to take a vacation in hell?

Overpriced entry, overpriced extras to shorten queues, overpriced snacks and drinks, everything in those parks geared to suggesting you spend more and more money.
Folks simply can't afford it, esp with lots of kids who want everything in sight. The films and games that generate the interest in the first place are political and not family orientated any more. No one wants to be preached at, especially not by a company which is fleecing its customers at every cash point.
I remember years back 4 generations of my family all went together to the Florida park, vividly remember my grandmother who was nearly 80 at the time literally running down the street after Cinderella and apologising for having missed seeing her in the parade, with the rest of us charging after her in case she fell over or something - good times.
You couldn't even pay me to go now, my own children are fed up with the poor quality of films and TV series and also tired of 'The Message', my grandkids have zero interest in anything Disney. All of us cancelled our Disney+ subs earlier this year.
The company needs to either go bankrupt, be bought out or have a massive massive shake up. Too much political posturing, not enough entertainment.

Our family of 4 normally goes 2-3x per year out of state with Annual Pass and stay on-property purchasing all meals and G+/LL. The changes from Genie+ to LLMP are fine, whatever. However, we’ve realized the total cost is excessive. They are selling so many ‘fast pases’ (G+/LLMP/LLSP) that it’s not really a skip the line…it’s an absolute requirement.
We just cancelled 2 trips (Oct and April), have let the out of state Annual Pass lapse, and will go for a 1 week trip in May.
Great video. If WDW Pro sees this comment, you might consider the impact of Disney discounts. No channel has really studied those. When attendance is low Disney will offer upto 40% discounts (happened in 2007/2008 recession) on their hotel rooms. They also offer $400/4 day tickets to entice those off-property and Florida residents who don’t have APs. There are lots of levers they adjust. I’ll make sure to capture those discounts, but I’m still only going 1x a year now.

On top of them not listening to our desired vacation time frame. They litterally told us to call back after the staff shift change.

Yes, WDW truly was my happy place. My mom & I both loved it & went once a year for the better part of a decade. She passed away unexpectedly a couple of months after our last trip at the end of 2012. I was devastated by her loss, & it was years before I could even think of going without her. I was finally ready to at least look into planning a solo trip when Covid hit & everything went crazy. Now they've taken away so much of the magic that I barely recognize my beloved parks. And even if I overlook the many, many unfavorable changes, they've pretty much priced me out now. Universal is giving me some hope, as I see more of Walt's spirit there than I do at the House of Mouse these days. I hope Disney gets their act together one day, but in the meantime, I'm glad to see Universal stepping up to the plate & hitting home runs.

Greed eventually leads to self consumption for companies. They always want to charge more while providing less. At a certain point brand loyalty hits a breaking point. Then everything collapses as the company desperately charges more and cuts quality in a vane attempt to restore profits. Usually happens when a company is bought out by those thinking they'll make a profit off buying a lucrative company. Rarely, if ever, happens to the founders who actually built the initially successful business.

I grew up one county away from Disneyland and visited it every so often as I grew up. Even as an adult I went when I could, I even once got an annual pass after my magician boss/mentor and I performed at a party for someone with connections to get us good annual passes (even covered parking).

The remakes are so bad they've destroyed the demand created by the originals. And I suspect that they are so bad that the demand will never return. All of the Disney, Star Wars and Marvel characters have been transformed from cultural staples everyone enjoys, to a bitter vile corruption of all that was good.
I classify Disney as a hate group, similar in messaging to the KKK.
I have to tell relatives they can't take my kids to Disney movies without me vetting the material because I don't want my children growing up with the toxic repressive notion that some people who have a certain color of skin are better than others skin colors. Yes weekends at disney are busy but I have spoken to a few parents who said the same things about it being pricey and they have canceled the annual pass for locals so they are looking at tourist money and they aren't interested in going ..

And the actionists in complete silence. I mean, your CEO and board of directors lose you 16 billions and you do nothing?

And I think it’s gonna be worst since that Cast member strike at Disney land is looming I really think if it happens it’s really gonna be an impact on the parks division.

I think Disney experimented with some add on items and made a surprising amount of money with little to no cost and very slight customer push back. So, they went all in. Now that they are addicted it’s going to take an intervention for them to stop.

There’s no word on how much the Disneyland Resort lost in California when Governor Newsom kept the park closed for over a year.

YT vlogger Fresh Baked posted a vid today about how attendance at DL in Anaheim is also apparently stagnant. He has done vids on the same subject for months & often reports the same thing. Although today's very politicized Disney Co doesn't help things, the situation with the OLC in Tokyo & certain other theme parks in the US suggest a lot of factors are at play. One reason why attendance at DL in Calif is also affected is because people are excited about the new Tiana's ride---whether that's sarcasm or not all depends on how much pixie dust is sprinkled on you.

I would not complaint about a 10 Minute line. Think about it! If you have 15 attractions with a one-hour waiting line, that means you can choose which 7 (5 minute) attractions you want to do. For this your spending the whole day and hundreds of Dollars.
If you say a 2-Hour wait in the sun should be expected, something's wrong with you as well!
